The cab of the truck was filthy. (would have rather rode in the box) The location is in a motel that is occupied by residents (mostly homeless) vs. overnight guests. The clerk/agent was friendly enough, but that aside, worst Uhaul experience in 10+ years!

I reserved a 20 ft truck and when I went to pick it up there were no trucks available. we were moving and had to wait until almost noon to get a truck and ended up renting a 15 foot truck as well because of our time restraints. order # 28297243 The man working at the Bradford ;location did his best to assist us and was helpful when we returned the trucks.

I wouldn't recommend Uhaul to anyone it was an extreme disappointment and the service is sad , do to uhaul not having the truck available for the time I had booked it , I was told I would have to drive to Barrie to pick up a truck and honestly I couldn't because I have two young children , I asked what else could be done and said how am I to do this the lady on the phone told me she has no boss and is not answering anymore of my questions , then hung up on me and cancelled my service all together leaving me scrambling to find a truck last minute which was a 15 foot truck that was not what was initially booked . Uhaul does not treat their costumers with respect or decency and that is sad considering it is already a stressful time . At this time out of five I would give Uhaul a .5 star rating out of five .

Absolute nightmare. Reserved a truck in Midland, ON to move my mother. Drove 2 hours from Mississauga, only to find out the truck isn't there. Spoke to a rep over the phone who just kept making excuses and was of no help. She did offer me $50 credit, but thats not the issue, I still had no vehicle to move with. A 10' cube van was offered that was located another 100 km away in Bradford. Not only did it take me an hour each way just to get the van, I had to make 2 trips moving my mom out. So you can imagine the additional KM i put. The extra mileage I was given didn't cover all the extra trips I had to make. This review is not about a particular location, but u-haul in general. What is the point of having online registrations and check-ins, if you don't honor them. To any potential customer, be wary when renting online, especially when your pick up location is in a small town .

The check in was very difficult. I also don't love that I originally booked for a uhaul in breton for a move in alliston and was automatically assigned a truck in Bradford. I would have saved a lot of money with how little driving we actually did for the move as it was literally around the corner. Except I had to pay mileage from Bradford to alliston to everett and back to Bradford.

The truck was low on oil, the service light was on. It required 3.5l of coolant. The drivers side mirror was seized and couldn't be adjusted. The driver side door panel was insecure and continually rattled.

Customer Service by agent was very good. Trailer was 3 hours late with no replacement available and no advanced notice - this impacted my schedule. Office area is very run down needs a clean up.

Truck was late coming back but the man in the office called the people that had it and even stayed open later for us to rent it when it finally was returned.

I was scheduled to pick up at a location closer to my home...within 30 minutes actually. Instead, 24 hours before the scheduled pick up I received a text stating the trailer I reserved was 1) smaller and 2) pick up location was now 75 kilometers from my home! The change in location had a negative impact in that it delayed me by 3.5 hours, as the drive to and from pick up was a 150 km round trip. Not efficient or acceptable, however given the short notice, I had no alternative option. As well, changes in size of the trailer on such short notice may impact others who've booked the trailer as the usage time required may increase due to the size decrease. Hope this helps.

The main office was really dirty, smelly, and just unwelcoming. The trucks where sorta clean, the back was not swept out from previous customer. The gas tanks are only 1/4 full basically empty. The side mirror was broken, every bump in the road would move the passenger mirror witch is totally unsafe and so dangerous. Nothing was sanitized nor covid19 ready.

The on line booking and on line pre check in very easy to navigate. The proprietor was very helpful and ensured trailer was properly attached to vehicle. Very simple smooth process. Proprietor also assisted when trailer returned.

The service was ok but the van was given to me with no working signal signal front and back. I did not check the lights when I checked out the van only the out side was check. I noticed it only after I got the van home at night. The van gas in unsafe condition to drive. I called and told the rep, he said I could bring it back but I didn't as i was already at home and was bringing it straight back the next day.

Friendly staff but the smell in the office was awful. Previous comment submitted was for wrong location. The Newmarket location was excellent in every way. The office on highway 11 was clean but the smell was blinding.

Truck ( pickup ) was a brand new Ford with 6000 km. Truck was filthy inside and worse, was very low on engine oil , had to put 2 liters of synthetic oil from my own supply to bring it up to between the low and high mark. Not sure why this was so , truck should have been fine from the factory. Checked again at the end of the rental and level was consistent.

It took 4 attempts to get a truck and several (6 in total I believe) calls to Customer support to arrange this rental. There was confusion, and repeatedly bad recommendations on pickup locations for vehicle. The final location did have a vehicle, but blankets were forgotten. Although a refund of $5 was provided, I needed those blankets. The original scheduled pickup location was not even open, and owner was AWOL. Together with a poor customer service experience, I am quite disappointed in the whole experience.

You need to hire better people that can take down the correct information when vehicles are being ordered. I called 4 weeks in advance before the end of the month and placed an order for August 31/19 the order was changed 3 times by your workers, I was to originally to pick up a 15' truck in Collingwood. I got a phone call a week or so later and was told that my truck is now in Barrie, I can pick it upon August 31 at 9am. I then get another call from your works that my truck in now a 20' truck and my pick up is in Bradford not Barrie, I was moving from Barrie I was and still am very disappointed and discussed and dissatisfied in the hole thing. I have told all my friends and family my experiences with your company u-haul. I will post on my all social media how bad u-haul really is. To many dishonest people work for u-haul.

Start to finish the process was aweful. Service was very poor from sales staff. Good scheduling manager and site manager but cs and sales staff should be reprimanded for how I was dealt with.

Waited 30min for attendent to show up to the desk , this was the third location I was sent to in 24 hours , truck I required was a 10 foot , third location only had 20'. Uhaul rep on Thursday who contacted me about location change ( further away, more miles) said she would change reservations to .49 cents per kilometer , didn't happen. Attendent at second pickup point called to tell me about third location, ( further away still) and no 10 foot truck , and oh yea , won't honor the lower milage rate. Uhaul system down , attendent implied my method of payment ( credit card and debit) were no good and did I have cash. He checked with head office, realized it was not my payment problem, no apology, after 1-1/2 hour of this, left location to get cash. Attendent at this location was ,to be fair, polite but not overly helpful , although all the issues involved were not in his control, he did his best under untenable conditions. I have rented from uhaul before and have never experienced such a poor business model.

I was approached by a vagrant in the parking lot asking for a light for his smoke. Incredibly off-putting as a young woman. The parking lot is vastly undersized for the type of equipment rented from here. As it's also a motel parking lot, it was busy at 8am on a Sunday and I was pressured by patrons to maneuver a 20' truck quickly. Nothing to complain about with the proprietor though, he seemed like a nice guy. The truck could've had a wipe down of the dash and cupholders a little better, and the wipers need replacing.

We had rented a 26 ft truck and arrived to find that it was not safe to drive. They rented us a 20 foot truck instead and at least we had a truck. The manager who looked after us was very nice and helpful in spite of the original truck being unavailable to us.

The only issue I experienced was that 5 days following my reservation I was told I had to go elsewhere to pick up my unit. Ultimately this was resolved to my satisfaction. I am happy with the service delivered by the people in the call centre as well as that provided at both ends of my rental today. Thank you for delivering on a one of a kind service. It's so convenient to drop at my destination rather than having to return the rental to its' point of origin.

I was supposed to get my truck at 8am, the same time the place is supposed to open. I sat in the parking lot for 50 minutes before the owner decided to answer the phone or walk downstairs to give me the key. No apologies, no extra hour to make up for the time I lost, no nothing. Will not use again

I reserved a 15 ft truck 6 days in advance for a 8 am pickup from this location that I will refer to as location 1, at time of reservation it was mentioned picking up at another location to which I affirmed I needed to pick up from location 1 as I was coming in from Toronto and although I was not the driver I have a disability which affects my mobility. So we arrive for our pickup at 8:15 am and we are told, of course we will have to go to location 2 as he did not have a truck for me. we had been dropped off so luckily we are able to call back our ride before they got to far ahead. So off to the next location which did not even open until noon however while calling location 1 the owner of location 2 arrives at 9:30 am to check his rentals and tells me that he does not have a truck for me and my reservation was for 10 am. Now at both locations there were trucks in the lot however after the owner calls U Haul reservations then can get us a smaller truck for noon back at location 1. I was then told that my truck that I was to pick up from location 2 had been returned to location 1 and because he did not have a reservation for it he rented it out. So after all this run around and multiple 45 minute trips back and forth from my final destination we get the truck load up and head back to Toronto. During the reservation process I indicated that we would also need the use of a two wheel dolly and some moving blankets and packing supplies I was told all would be available at the store. Location 2 did not carry these items and location 1 was able to provide the dolly and blankets but did not carry packing supplies, we were also not provided with a lock for the back door of the truck so we were unable to secure the items when we returned the truck. By 3:15 pm we bring the truck back to 1 of the 3 locations we were told were in our area however they had just closed so we attempted to close the contract online unsuccessfully. So I call for assistance and I am told that I am supposed to return the vehicle to a location in the west end of Toronto almost an hour drive from were I am located. The agent makes the necessary change to the system however we are still unable to close out the contract online so she makes a note on the file that we have returned the vehicle and no further charges should be processed. Upon returning home I am so upset I call UHaul to discuss the day, the agent takes down my issues and says that I will be contacted within 3-5 business days to further discuss however this call never comes and two weeks later I call to be informed that a $50.00 refund was issued. This did not even cover the cost of the gas for all the driving we had to do just going back and forth from the two UHaul locations and the location we were moving the furniture from which was about 45 minutes outside of Bradford. I will never use U Haul again and will make sure to tell anyone who will listen of my experience.

For one thing, I ordered a moving van for the 31st. When I showed up, nothing was there. They said this happens all the time. I phoned and they found me a van more than 30kms away. They reduced the km charge but still cost me more to drive the extra distance. I would not recommend doing business with this company if you want your vehicle when ordered.

The rental van was disgusting. The front seats were covered in hair. The back was filthy. We had to make an additional stop to get tarps because the back was so filthy. The tank was also only filled to about 1/4 when I picked it up. I had already signed a form that indicated that the tank was full. My mistake. I will be more careful next time I pick up a rental.
