The self checkin and checkout is not the easiest thing to work with. With no internet customers have trouble with getting their truck. Perhaps the location consider having internet available in the truck lot.MARK D.
Advise customers in advance how long the process may take and strongly encourage them to complete as much of the process as possible. Truck was covered in mud on the inside left very dirty. Not sanitized at all. When I questioned the price difference I was quoted he didn't help at all was told to call uhaul. When I returned the truck they didn't even want to check me out said leave the keys. I made them check it out. Otherwise they could make claims against me. Only thing they checked was mileage and gas on return. Nothing else. Very poor quality control at this location. When I once again told them about the price difference and mentioned the district manager name she gave me a different person. The same person I talked to the day I rented it. Refused to give me the other person's information. I would never rent from this location again.ASHLEY A.

This location and the person at the location were excellent. Your online booking system is very confusing and glitchy. After I selected Tega Cay on Gold Hill, it reserved a truck at the Sateline location. The website showed a ramp with a 10 foot truck, which it does not have. If it weren't for the man running the Tega Cay location, my move would have been a disaster.Amy B.

I said Of store I wanted to deliver trailer too. And I was given a location I was not sure where it was. First lady I spoke to was short with me. My card was billed almost double of rental. And apparently it will take a week to refund me. Feel like I've been hoodwinked. SadRoberta S.
The checkout equipment process could be better. There was a delay and all items were not available at the location. Not as automated as anticipated.HEATHER T.
I've been using U-Haul for 25 years for all my moving needs from trucks and trailers to boxes. This may have been the worst experience of all of them. I took pictures to backup this terrible experience. When I picked up the truck, there was a lady who worked for Tega Cay Self Storage smoking a cigarette inside one of the U-Haul vans. Fortunately, I wasn't renting that one, but when I got to the truck I was renting it was disgusting. There were cigarette butts in the cupholder, the seats were nasty, the windows were covered in grime making poor visibility, and the steering wheel left my hands black with whatever grime was on it. So I cleaned it up a bit to make it drivable and used my inhaler so I could breathe while driving this nasty smelly rig. After a long day of moving I returned the truck, but there was no place to park. I was in this 26' truck in a tight situation and no way to turn around. There were railroad ties scattered blocking the exit. I had to park nearby in the parking lot in front of the building. It took me almost an hour to move the truck around to finally park without damaging the truck and finally checkout. I am changing to Enterprise or Ryder from here on out.THOMAS C.

The staff at the location are friendly and helpful, but the vehicle I received was in an unsafe state of repair. Active brake fluid leak, mirror falling off, missing seatbelt buckle, etc. I don't believe this is the fault of the location, so I have nothing bad to say about Tega Cay self storage. I've rented from them several times and always had a good experience. I've contacted uHaul service to alert them to the condition of the vehicle and ask for some amount of recompense for failing to provide a safe and reliable vehicle. Hopefully they respond promptly.James F.

The process was very slow even though I had already checked in online. The guy there were taking certain customers in front of other customers that were already in line. Which I thought was very rude or unprofessional. It madebit seem like it may have been a discrimination thing because he was skipping a black male and helping white females that were coming in after him in line. And again the process was slow because he was older and didn't really know how to check out people as quickly. The parking was bad for the area. It was complicated trying to navigate in that little space.Tanisha W.

The manager was disrespectful of me and my time. I waited 25 minutes for him to arrive. He asked me if I wanted the insurance. I tried to respond with a question for clarification since I had already requested coverage online, and he responded with an abrupt, "Just answer the question!" Nice location very close to my new apartment. I dropped the Uhaul off after hours. The after hours check off process definitely takes some time, so for anyone who plans to do so, be sure to plan ahead so you know what to do. Also, you'll need a smartphone in order to check off everything with photos and such (including the drivers cabin, the main storage area, and mileage/gas tank level).Bradlee P.

i rented a truck a few weeks ago from a location in Lake Wyle - everything was great, newer truck, clean, full tank, drove well - no complaints. I reserved a truck from there for this trip - but i received an email saying to go Tega Cay. This truck that i rented from Tega Cay was a whole different experience. The gentleman at the Tega Cay location was very pleasant and courteous - however----- The truck was not cleaned. The steering wheel was sticky, seatbelt was sticky, dirt and trash on the floor (and a few coins), the windshield hadn't been cleaned. It was horrible. My wife and I had to do a level 5 wipe down and disinfecting in it. This truck had around 95,000 miles on it. It didn't handle as well as the previous truck. The steering was loose, it had lots of rattles and it was very load inside. The tank was a hair passed 1/2 full - but the paper worked showed that it had a lot more gas. Very deceiving (i returned it will 9/10 of a tank). And - the appliance dolly i rented - wasn't in stock. I was also charged $20.00 for a dozen blankets - instead of the $10.00 that i should have been charged. This was not a good experience at all. I will be reserving a truck for another trip in a few days - i'm hoping it will not be ANOTHER bad experience.Paul D.

When I picked up the trailer, I said I should be done by 2 or 3PM but would drop it off later. The attendant told me where to drop it off after hours. Then I got a call at 3PM asking me why I had not returned the trailer and someone was waiting for it. I did not finish 100% of my move and brought the trailer back and NO ONE was there waiting for the trailer. Very frustrating as I had to now make 3 additional trips back and forth with my truck to finish my move.Dennis C.

the truck was not ready at 11:30 as promised, it was almost 1 pm. The keys were not in the lock box as stated and there was no operator onsite till 1 pm. The truck had water bottles in it and surgical masks that were used in the door. I spent 40 minutes on the phone with your 800 number to get help ultimately i just had to wait till the operator returned to the sales counter. The inside operator or owner was friendly, but I needed a service at a specific time for a specific job and the reliability was not there. very disappointed with being stuck once i agreed to terms with the app portion and found no onsite operator and no keys in the box.JASON S.

I was to pick my U-Haul up on Sunday and move I'm in the middle of a move across country they tell me just call 1-800 U-Haul and there be a code key to put in to get the key to the truck I couldn't get the truck on Sunday I had four movers standing around doing nothing so I lost a day of moving and has really put me behind schedule I feel I should be compensated for this my name is Bobby Weber 404-931-9742Robert W.
