I left a pair of name brand shoes inside a rental and a kinked I bought at the location. Owner of the pawn shop upon calling him said he threw everything in the garbage instead of holding it or giving me a call. It's hard to believe when he owns a pawn shop. My first ever bad experience with U-Haul. My reservation was complete several days before the scheduled 8 AM pick up of my trailer. U-Haul had all my information including my tow vehicle information on my credit card information. At 8 AM, the facility was still closed. I called the number on the door (a pawn shop) and was told by the vendor that the vendor was held up, and that he would be there in 15 minutes. I hooked the trailer up to my vehicle while waiting. At 8:30 I left. At about 930, I got a call from U-Haul while I was moving furniture with my crew. I had to drop what I was doing to go over all my information again, tow vehicle, credit card, etc. no apology from the woman on the phone for the inconvenience and aggravation of not being able to pick up my trailer at the 8 AM time, and she scolded me because I did not complete the paperwork before leaving with the vehicle. This morning I returned the trailer. The vendor was there at 8 AM this time. He did not apologize for the inconvenience, or for not being there the day before, but instead responded to my â€œgood morningâ€ with â€œif you ever do that again I will call the police.â€ I said â€œOK, where do you want me to park the trailer.â€ Self-serve again, I parked the trailer where I found it, behind the building in the muddy unpaved parking area, And I detached the unit and took precautions to make sure it would not roll. The vendor was not there to assist or oversee any of this. Then he seemed put out when I re-entered the store and ask him for paperwork confirming I had returned his trailer in good working order. Rude, late, unaccommodating, I cannot say enough. This would never happen in Holbrook, or Nesconset, where I usually rent.bill S.

First I would like a call back as I have left 2 messages over two days with corporate. Just about every time I rent which has been 6 times or so over the last few weeks there is an issue. This latest one I was charged for 2 days when I rented it for one, I was charged for hand truck and mats which I didn't use because I didn't need them but the real kicker is they weren't even on the truck. The person that was in charge of giving us the U-Haul was not physically fit enough to help with the installation of the trailer to the back of my car. He also did not properly supervise/ inspect how we installed the u-haul which led to a near death experience for my family in the middle of the highway when we left the pick-up location. For a company that is renting equipment, I would imagine you would have properly trained employees that are able to lift objects over 50 pounds and be present throughout the entire installation of a trailer. The man that helped me was well over 50 years old and said he could not help install the 2" bulb. He left us while installing the u-haul to attend to another customer. He had also misguided us on buying only the 2" bulb instead of the full set. After the incident, we realized the 2" bulb did not properly fit in the 2 5/6" set we had on our car which led to the nut of the bulb to break on the highway and almost cause a very terrible car accident. It was a very scary experience but we managed to control the trailer by slowing down. Thankfully no car next to us was hit. In the future, I would expect your employees to be fully trained on the supervision and installation of these equipments.JORGEM R.
I had ordered the u haul van for Friday Thur Sunday. When I picked up the van, the man at the counter said Friday Thur Sunday? And I said yes. Like the reservation. After I get the u haul home, I get a text message that I had to get it back in 43 hours( Sunday morning at 8:00am I had reserved it for 3 days and didn't understand why I had to bring it back so early. I called u haul customer service and the had said that I didn't read the agreement (which I didn't, because I reserved it for 3 days!). But since the agreement was wrong, they could adjust it for another day but it would be a day charge and an extension fee. Extension fee???? I was suppose to have the van to Sunday at 5:00pm!! The man inside the u haul had no clue on what needed to be done, because he was busy with his thrift store. The u haul card on the table had a woman on it, but she was nowhere to be found. I gave 3 stars because there wasn't a dedicated u haul person working at the pawn shop, just an old guy fumbling through what he needed to do before helping me. Really loved waiting 10 minutes while he shuffled along putting things away before helping me. FYI It's not ok to tell the customer that they have to finish putting away there stuff before they can get me my van rental. Expecially if your the only one there and you have 2 businesses going at the same time.FUNG L.

The person helping me, Frank, was wonderful. we ran into an issue with your system where the card wouldn't take. He called several people to try and resolve this issue all of them telling him they couldn't help him. It was frustrating for both of us. I was there for over 40min. He finally tried to get it to work letting me use cash and we were able to complete the transaction. You really should be able to assist moreDEBRAA C.

The truck I reserved wasn't available apparently was out of service. The proprietor Frank was abrasive regarding the transaction. They did get me another truck so I was able to do my move. But when I returned there had been an issue and Frank stood in the parking lot and yelled at me. I asked if I needed to sign anything or discuss it and he was busy being rude to me. I reserved a flatbed truck online. I specifically chose no insurance and declined the $15 collision insurance. Picked up truck without issue. Returned truck and bill had the $15 coverage on it. I told the person at the counter and he tells me i agreed to it. This practice of adding things to the bill that customers didn't ask for is unacceptable. I now know to screen shot my reservation in the future if i have to use Uhaul again.DONTODD II C.
