I reserved my 28ft truck in advance of my moving date of October 17th. I ended up having to speak to a representative because I could not find one available online in an area near me. He was very helpful and foundÂ me a one way truck in El Cajon. And while this was well out of my way, it seemed the better deal price wise as I was moving to Anaheim and did not want to pay the mileage to return the equipment.Â I receivedÂ and made note of the informationÂ found in the confirmation email which included the El Cajon location and pick up time at 8am. The day of the move, as I was on my way to pick up the truck, I receivedÂ a call from another representative confirming my reservation for a truck to be picked up in Alpine, whichÂ was even further away than El Cajon. I was not happy at all and could not understand why the change was not communicated to me sooner. The rep had no answers and did his best to locate something closer. He could not and I was directed to Alpine...at this point I had no choice. He added bonus miles to cover the distance and applied a bit of a discount for which I was grateful. We retrieved the truck from Alpine. Did the walk through only to find out that the listed starting mileage was incorrectÂ and so was the amount of fuel the truck was said to have. I called the rep again as the clerk who assisted us was nowhere to be found, he stated he would change it in the contract. We returned the truck to the facility we were told to by the clerk at Alpine,Â only to find out that we had, in fact, received the wrong vehicle.Â I have now received about 4 receipts with differing amounts. 2 of which seem to charge me for dropping the truck off at the wrong place. Say what now? I still have no idea how much I was charged for this rental and since I was given the wrong vehicle, do not understand why I am being charged for dropping it off at the wrong facility... To be honest, while the employees were nice and I certainly tried to be as pleasant as possible under the circumstances, this was a hott mess experience. Consider me an extremely unhappy customer. Customer service rep was rude and didn't understand how online check in worked. Gave me the wrong dolly and was very dismissive. I was charged extra, and when I called support to advise, all they said was that they would notate the account, not do anything about any type of refund.ashley S.

the self check in process was horrible, took almost an hour, after waiting and waiting for all the steps to be finished and we finally got the combination to the lock box there was no key in the box, after sitting on hold for a long time waiting we went to the truck and found another lock, used the workd we were given and it opened the key inside, no one ever told us that, we were told the key was in the lock box at the office, this process needs to be made easier there was also another person going through the same problems when he opened the lock box his key was thereDebbie S.
Desk was not manned between 2:15 & 3:30 pm, which made returning the truck a little inconvenient. I was very happy overall with the service ????norman H.
You advertise $19.99 plus mileage but don't tell you how much the mileage is & then they tell you it is only for 4 hours. So my $19.99 rental which took 6 hours and 60 miles cost me $125.00! I'm never using U-Haul again!!!Elizabeth L.

Very difficult parking both for going into and turning in and for actually parking the trailer. Employee had a 6 foot wide space marked by cones for an 8 foot wheel base trailer. He kept insisting I back it in, so I put a tire on each cone and ran them over. Someone needs to tell him that 6' is the width of the box, not the wheelbase. BTW, I drive a 36' goose neck horse trailer all the time, so I can back and turnJulianne B.

Ensure ratchets on trailer tire straps are well oiled. The ratchet was rusty and difficult to release. I required assistance from an Oregon State Trooper to get ratchet released and adjusted on tire properly.Lizbeth H.

AIR UP THE TIRES! I've rented a few trucks & trailers lately and every time the tires are dangerously low on air. I had to replace the wiper blades on 2 out of 3 trucks. The last truck's cab was disgustingly dirty inside. Aside from that, at least all the equipment I've used so far has made the trip without breaking down, so I'm thankful for that.Bruce D.

I rented a trailer for 3 days. The return date was on Sunday - 3/17, and STAX UHAUL was closed all day. I was never warned about the closure, nor told how to enter the locked facility to drop off the trailer. I called the 800 number and was told to wait until 9 AM to talk to someone else. I was lucky, in that someone was leaving the facility and let me enter to return the trailer. Very poor foresight and customer service.Steve H.

Sam, the manager was EXTREMELY friendly, helpful, and courteous with me on the phone. He took his own time to help me locate (the not so easy to find Uhaul in Alpine. I would definitely recommend Sam and his Uhaul yard on Tavern Rd....just be sure you know how to find it BEFORE you move. Thanks Sam.Wesley F.

The place is good, but your reservation system is extremely poor, I made reservation Thursday for my Saturday pickup, after we drove to San Diego, you guys just called me and told me no trailer available in my reservation location, I need to picked trailer from another place which is 40 minutes away from driving. Are you kidding me? What the poor reservation system you are using?Jerry T.
Both Sam and Joe are awesome with customer service, product knowledge, and excellent with helping us through the entire moving vehicle, auto transport, and storage unit process. The employee who assisted us did not know how to check us in. We were there over half an hour helping him figure it out. He said it was his first time checking someone in. I do not think he was trained well and so there was confusion on where to drop the uhaul. He had to call someone while we were there to figure out how to upload the drivers license. Other than that employee, Uhaul is great. I would recommend Uhaul to others just not from the Alpine location.Sara G.

The Front desk guy he's by himself on a saturday ..he is doing his best but so many customer literally took us 30 minutes to wait for our turn ..and finally got the truck we check the Gas fuel is wrong..He said ok i will mark it down ..So when we return it ..They charged us $20.49 more coz they say we Put only Half tank which that'how we got it..They said No.Melita P.
