Robert BPay attention to the gas meter no matter how old fashioned it is. Photograph is carefully before and after. They charged me the equivalent of a Litre a mile for the use of the vehicle.

Errol PThe U-Haul app for acquiring the information to access the keys during off hours is not user friendly. Myself, plus two other customers were delayed between 30 & 60 minutes as the information was either late coming, insufficient or the locks weren't working properly. Not the best way to start. We called U-Haul head office to have our return time extended due to the late start and ended up getting bounced around to 4 different departments. When we finally got an agreement to extend they said they would email us a confirmation, which we never received. In addition the owner/manager completely lacked any customer service skills. The whole event certainly left us with a bad impression of U-Haul

ALISON BThis was not the location I chose having booked several weeks beforehand. It was over a 30 minute drive just to pick up the van. I had booked a one way drive with drop off in Belleville. Was then informed I had to return the van to the same location. I was informed of this at the 11th hour and had no opportunity to seek alternative arrangements elsewhere. This cost me an additional $350. Very unhappy. Will never use U-Haul again and will advise anybody else also never ever to use U-Haul. I believe this change was made at the last moment purely to make more money. Disgusted.

Thomas YJust one comment.The van itself was the perfect size but the drivers area was quite small. I'm 6'5" and I used to drive all sizes of trucks when I was a student (worked for a moving company) and never had a problem with the driver area in my life. Because of the metal barrier between the seats at the front and the cargo area it prevented the seat to extend all of the way back. Not a big problem but if I had to drive for a long distance I wouldn't have been able to. Thank you for the rental. All worked out .

RAYMUNDO RThey rented me a cargo van with no fuel. The low fuel indicator light was already on when I picked it up, which was really annoying. The attendant acknowledged it was empty, blamed the previous customer, and told me there was a gas station around the corner where I could fill it to 1/4. When I returned it 1/8 full, he tried to tell me I needed to add more fuel and return it at 1/4. I have always understood Uhaul and other vehicle rental contracts to require returning the vehicle at the same or higher fuel level it had when you picked it up. By renting it empty, he forced me to return it with more fuel than it had when I got it. To then push me to add even more fuel left a bad taste in my mouth.

ben fThe location was closed when I got there, forcing me to figure out how to check out the car online myself. The website was buggy, which caused me a delay of 45 minutes to get the van, causing me to start my move in a delay and made the whole day a rush. Also, the truck REAKED of cigarettes. It actually clung to my clothes, it was disgusting.
Helder BReservation was easy. Live chat was super and made pick up easy even with an international drivers license. The truck was filthy dirty, the entire back was full of mud and dirt. The cab was uncleaned. When I had trouble with the lock box the number provided was not in service. Very grateful for the live chat, they were extremely helpful. Would not recommend this location and would not use it again for myself.
Ona Bto give credit where credit is due, the van could have been cleaner, since the customer is doing so much work with the validation of photos, self check-in, the employee could do a quick review and make sure that garbage is taken out of the door pocket areas. In addition, it would be helpful if it was explicitly called out that the van could be put back driving forwards. It is difficult to reverse a van, especially one that you are not used to driving, into a very small space, with low visibility, on a very busy St. Clair Avenue This would be my recommendations on making it a better experience. I would imagine that if someone wasn’t fully comfortable driving a vehicle of the size, putting the vehicle back into place would be very challenging

John SOvercharged by gas as the gas wasn't full like they said it was. I put the real amount while doing their online inspection and uploaded a picture but was charged as it was full tank. Other than that, no problems.
DanielMamede AAlthough the vehicle was clean, it could have used a dusting off inside the cab. Also, you should never have to pick a rental with quarter tank of gas. No less than half a tank, 3/4 tank would be ideal.

MATONDO LThis Uhaul experience was far my worst yet. I am thankful I take diligent photos of the Uhaul so I can keep record of the stunts anyone might try to pull. Thankfully, I did so!! The vehicle inside had a number of boxes in the trunk, which was clearly never checked. The interior/ exterior walk of the vehicle condition had never been done as with previous Uhaul experiences. I had returned the vehicle as I usually do to the key drop-off to be notified of a $46 charge the following day and I called in to be told it was for "gas use". I have the photos of both pickup and delivery of the fuel gauge and it's the same. The $46 is a severe misrepresentation of how much fuel the vehicle had on pickup and resulted in exaggerated charges!! When confronted about this, the owner requested photos, which have been provided and still not refunded. This was a very close call, however I want a resolution and ALSO prevent others from being ripped off! My wife returned another Uhaul for me this afternoon and AGAIN the person working there came back and told her it was $76, meanwhile the gas was at the exact same position and ONLY 3 MILES WERE DRIVEN!! Once my wife explained all her documentation, he stuttered and began adjusting the price to where the evidence showed and only $28 was charged, leaving another HUGE GAP in their attempt to overcharge customers. This week was 2/2 scam attempts and both times I can prove them wrong and also very offending to just about all consumers. My suspicion tells me that they have and are doing this to many customers who don't keep proper records to prove them otherwise and simply accept the false charges to apply. This is a horrible business practice of ripping people off. I trust this will be escalated and these people will be challenged on the business practices and maintenance of U-Haul's reputation as a business. My suspicion would be that of an often track record of overcharging customers for overages on gas and mileage...

MARIACLARA WI was $38 for fuel charges just for 14miles running drive. This is very high fuel charges applied to me.... Very costlier than other options.
