The uhaul drop off location I was at was also a vape/smoke shop. He was late to even open up. After being first to be at the door to return my uhaul he had 5 customers that he left me for to go sell his vape products. Then would return to me to continue my check out. That was very rude. Not only did I have a horrible experience with the uhaul trailer but another horrible experience trying to return it... I believe I'll consider other rental places before renting another uhaul.GREGORY R.
We rented two trucks and had to go to two different locations to pick them up. When picking up the first truck, through no fault of the person working, their computers were down and it took a long time to get the truck. We had to drive one truck back to our house and then drive back out the other direction to pick up another truck. Disappointed that both trucks could not be in the same location.ROSS O.
they had ZERO idea of the process, no offer to assist in the install/check. I fully recommend going to the Belt Highway if possible. Good thing i'm familiar with the equipment, someone else could be dangerous. I'm not kidding here.Brett H.

Gentlement this location was very professional very helpful the people running the you haul dealership at North belt in Saint Joseph Missouri however was rude they lied about availability and was totally unprofessional I have already put the thing on the Internet here and have got 205 responses that said they will never use that location so whoever is managing your story there on the weekends you need to fire himJason P.
The clerk was vaping during the process. She did not know what she was doing, asked me for my Passport! Kept asking same questions over and over. She asked me 4 times where I worked. The trailer we rented had previously had the emergency brake on the tongue pulled & had clearly not been rented for quite awhile as it had rusted solid. Because the lady at the store was working alone & could not leave the store unattended, she was unable to provide assistance & also did not have any lubrication to try to fix the issue. I ended up having to go to the convenience store next door & buy WD40 to spray on the emergency brake & use a hammer to force it free so the brakes would not be locked. This required much force which ended up denting my tailgate & put us 45 minutes behind our expected departure time. I would highly recommend that remote stores be required to have someone that can provide assistance if they want to offer your rentals, should review the equipment on the lot frequently for problems & should also be equipped with supplies necessary, should things like this occur so your renters don't have to work on your equipment or pay for supplies to do so. The lady was very apologetic & did reach out to an area manager to try to find an alternative trailer but not until the end of our ordeal, at which time we had finally corrected the situation ourself.Mike H.
This was hands down the most rude customer service experience up my entire life. This location should not be part of your return inventory. The clerk was rude the moment I walked in the door. She acted like she couldn't be bothered to do this job and that I was a huge inconvenience to her. The actual location is fine. My problem is with Uhaul in general. They quote one price online and then charge you a different price once you pick up. Jeremy, the "area manager" in St. Joseph is a real piece of work. No customer service skills at all! Not empathetic to a customer's needs. Unable to admit fault. Unable to resolve conflict. He truly fails at ALL of the qualities most companies look for in a manager. I sympathize for the employees at Smokers Hub that have to deal with his incompetence. The fault is certainly not on them! Again, it is not the location that is bad, it is Uhaul that I will have a hard time ever recommending or using again .Tim M.

Made a reservation online several days in advance and went to pickup the trailer at the time I reserved it and the employee said she doesnt know how to do it and supposedly the internet wasn't working. I had to wait way past the reservation time to actually get the trailer. So I called uhaul customer service was placed on hold over 30 minutes and kept being transferred to different departments till at last I got someone that got the job done. All of this went on never once was there an apology for their failure of keeping their part of the agreement also no discounted rate to make up for their mistake. This is totally and completely unprofessional and unacceptable. It is a very low standard of ethics and conduct for doing business.Samuel Y.

Lady at the shop was very helpful. I questioned why we were being charged an extra $15 and it stated because the gas was not the same level. I took a picture of the gauge and the sheet of paper she printed and it was the same. She called U-Haul corporate office and argued on my behalf. I still paid the money and will call corporate myself to argue it again. But this lady went above and beyond to help.Amanda R.

I was quoted 44.95 and got charged for 95 bucks. I only had the two dolly for less than 8 hours and was charged what seemed like 2 days. There was damage to the fenders in the dolly that I had to tie down to even us itjoel A.

Took 1.5 hrs to get checked in attendant had no clue what to do. Finally a gentleman at your call center got me checked in on the phone. Luckily I took the right trailer because there was no inspection or help with hookup.lowell B.
Do not use this location. He has been rude every time we have went in there for rentals. It is worth the few extra miles to drive up the Belt. Our lesson learned the hard way. He made us wait and rung up all his cigarette customers before us, even though they came in after us. Then proceeded to charge us late fee's because he made us wait 45 minutes to check in our equipment and didn't even tell us about the late fee's. I found out from my Uhaul email receipt. The guy was very nice but he kept having to stop to help customers with cigarettes. It took about 30-45 minutes to get it picked up and about 30 min. to drop it off. Don't give our tow dolly reservation away to another customer. This smoke hub location was not the one we were supposed to have to go to because the main location on Belt highway messed up. Not only did the location on the Belt give away our tow dolly, but they also gave away our 26 ft truck. Upon transferring to another truck location in town, our moving help reservation was also canceled being that it was connected to our Uhaul reservation. We would never rent a uhaul in St Joseph ever again or recommend them to a friend.Kara F.

The service staff had difficulty with the software and the receipt,the laptop she had to use locked up and she could not print I liked the idea of an early checkin on line but then the clerk had to go over that again. The online staff were efficient but seemed over taxed and short of PatienceWALT L.

Employees were unable to use the reservation system. It took an hour to process the paperwork even after reserving online. The employees were friendly but unprepared to process a uhaul rental. Even the return took 20 minutes. I would have been charged an additional day had I not pointed out the error. They counted the rental as late because it took 20 minute to process.Jody S.

The first problem I had was that I had set it up to pick up the trailer in St. Joe because I work in St. Joe and I know I would not have time to make it back to Maryville on time. Some one sent the trailer to Maryville for me to pick up. The place I was suppose to pick it up from the first time was real helpful in finding me one in St. Joe. The staff their were inexperienced it took me over 2hr to rent the trailer. They had to call someone on the phone to talk them through the rental contract. When I went to pay for the u-haul they over charged my card $60.00. Then I had to wait for 5day before I could get my money back from them. I had to hook up the trailer by myself.walter W.

My reservation was originally scheduled for 9:00 am at a different location (U-Haul at 1717 N Belt Hwy) When I arrive at the scheduled time I was informed that they did not have my equipment. I asked if they could find another location with my equipment as I could not change my moving arrangements. They did find another location and transferred my reservation to the U-Haul at South 169 Hwy. When I arrived at the new location I found that they did not have all of my equipment nor did they know how to hook up the trailer. I was sent back to the first location to pick up the remaining equipment. The manager at that location followed me back to the second location to assist with hooking up the trailer. I spent over an hour driving back and forth between the two locations to get my equipment. I had hired help waiting for over an hour to get started with the move. This was a very stressful and aggravating experience.Kim L.

The only lady working at the counter couldn't operate the software and offered no assistance to hook up the trailer, she didn't know how. We weren't sure we had it secured and worried it would come undone and cause an accident. What should have been about a 10 minute process, took 45-50 minutes from the time we walked in until we were pulling out with the trailer. I took the time to enter all our information on-line the night before but because she couldn't get it to work, our credit information was read out loud over the phone to someone that was trying to help her.JOLENE G.
Train your franchise staff. The lady had no idea what she was doing or even how to operate a computer. I waited an hour past my reserved time for her to print the thing off(while other customers came and left without being helped, I found myself apologizing for her to other customers...), and then I had to hook up the trailer myself, ended up being late to my destination completely ruining the whole trip due to the hour delay. She then proceeded to double charge me, and when I questioned(I had been very patient and kind during the wait mind you), she started yelling at me, "Sir, I have NO IDEA, You'll need to call them tomorrow!!" and walked away. Turned out to be a miserable waste of 5 hours of my day and no small amount of gasoline. Would NOT recommend.BUCK W.
