Bob is great.. He truly went above and beyond to make my experience picking up as well as dropping off my truck.. He stayed in contact he phoned me on the day the truck was supposed to be delivered and I was running just a teeny tad bit late but Bob was great the whole experience was absolutely excellent... I would most definitely recommend Bob at this location in Newberry South Carolina this was the most pleasant U-Haul experience I have ever had-bar none- thank you Bob you are absolutely great.

I reserved a specific sized truck five days in advance. The day before pick-up, I called the location to verify only to be informed by the U-Haul associate, "Oh, I was going to call you. We don't have the truck you reserved." After some frank discussion, the associate indicated that the closest truck was located 1 hour away. I had no choice but to get my wife to drive me to pick it up. Very disappointed in the process! RENTER BEWARE!!

Bob at Smart Art was great tot work with. He helped me get on the road with the equipment I needed as quickly as possible. I had originally made reservations for equipment with another location and they didn't have what I was looking for.

Only complaint I have is that the online checkout process was difficult. The website crashed on me twice while I was attempting to checkout at the drop-off site. I had to complete it after I got home, which meant that I was unable to take the requested pictures, since I was no longer at the truck. I returned the truck with more fuel in it than it had when I picked it up, and it was at least AS clean as it was at pickup, if not cleaner. My checkout still went through without the pictures, but I was concerned that there would be an issue and I would be charged the $20 "convenience" fee if it didn't. Otherwise, it was a smooth and easy experience. I would definitely rent from this location again, if needed.

I was told the truck had 1/4 tank has inbit when I rented it but it was less then 1/4 tank of has in it. I returned it on 1/2 tank and nothing was refunded to me. My reservation was for 12:00 Noon and the store did not open until 1:45, I had to wait almost two hours before anyone showed up to open the store. This was not a good experience for me with UHAUL.

Have the equipment that was reserved and properly clean the equipment before renting it out. Also don't lie about the fuel level . My rental truck was on empty when the salesman said it was a quarter of a tank. Plus the truck was not cleaned prior to being rented to me.

Had to wait an hour for someone to arrive. All of my supplies I had ordered (blankets, boxes, appliance cart) were not available and I had to drive many miles to another town to get them and then u-haul charged me for extra miles.

This was the location in Newberry SC on Main street, the owners name is Bob. I expected that renting the truck would be one of the biggest headaches of my move. I WAS WRONG! Bob was very friendly, intelligent, and sociable he answered my questions and offered suggestions and really made the whole experience very pleasant. I cant say enough good things about this location.

I'm still appalled that the guy running this place tried to convince me to move on Saturday because it fit HIS schedule better than Sunday, since he had to attend church. How dare he! He should never be allowed to do such a thing. Furthermore, being that an online reservation allows for 24/7 pick-up, he shouldn't be allowed to attempt to deny that service because he doesn't know how. He should have been professional and learned how to follow through with services offered by U-Haul. Also, the truck had a missing pad, was filled with roaches, smelled of smoke in the cabin and was sitting on 1/4th a tank of gas although this man put in the contract that there was half a tank of gas. I'm disgusted to use U-haul ever again because even those I reached at the main 1800 did not follow through with providing excellent customer service in an attempt to save the customer experience. The information emailed to me also did not have a delivery time readily noticeable, so I did not know of a 9am drop off time. This company made my moving more stressful than it should have ever been. On the day of drop off, I was reached and asked if I could return the truck not at the nearest location to me, but much further down the road! Absolutely disrespectful! I was offered a 25% discount for my troubles, but that was not applied to the final bill, so who knows if I will actually see the $35 I was told I would receive. At this point I do not trust U-Haul and will never use this company unless it's my only option, nor will I ever recommend your services.

PLEASE HAVE PERSONNEL GO OVER ALL PROCEDURES AS FAR AS MILEAGE BECAUSE HE DID NOT ADVISE ME THAT IF I WENT OVER MILES I WOULD BE CHARGED. I WAS FINE WITH THE MILES AMT UNTIL WE HAD TO DROP THE TRUCK OFF, SO I WAS CHARGED. HE ALSO TOLD ME I HAD TO TURN THE TRUCK IN WITH 1/4 TANK OF GAS, WHICH IT WAS ON A LITTLE MORE THAN THAT, HOWEVER, OTHER LOCATION STATES I NEEDED TO PUT IN HALF A TANK OF GAS, WHICH IS UNFAIR BECAUSE I SHOULD ONLY PLACE IN WHAT I WAS GIVEN...NO MORE NO LESS. OVERALL VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Truck was VERY dirty. Reported it to dealer. He shrugged his shoulders, may no effort to correct, and made no note of such. He was late opening. He did NOT tell me how many miles were included, nor anything about a charge for additional miles. He did NOT do a walk-around of vehicle, nor did he ask me to do so. This man is a decent older fellow, but he is NOT a good representative of U-Haul. This is not the first bad experience I have had with him. Last time I rented from him, he did not show up NOR call. Had a note on door that he was not coming in that day, and sent all customers 30 miles away to Chapin SC. I do not feel I should have been charged the $17.54 for extra mileage when I was not even told of a mileage limit AND when I got a dirty truck!

i was told that i will be charged 50 cents per miole and when i checked out the location told me that im being charged 79 cents per mile. i will rent never rent again and post this on social media. i got the truck for my business because mine was in the shop. never again and the world will know how a local business was treated.
