Low Quality, filthy, and un-maintained equipment needs to be addressed immediately! No window knob on drivers door, 6 to 8" of play either way in steering wheel. This is a dangerous truck even for me-an experienced commercial vehicle driver. This vehicle is not up to DOT standards and will cause an inexperienced driver to wreck.

The online process is easy to work through. The location is very convenient in the service at the counter was good. The issues we ran into were that the mileage stated on our agreement was 20 miles off in their favor. We took a picture of the speedometer before we started the engine and immediately after parking it. Though we were not charged for the extra 20 miles the contract remained 20 miles in their favor. This would not be favorable to the next people that rented it and did not check the mileage before leaving. Also the interior of the box itself was filled with debris. Before we could load the truck we had to sweep and vacuum the floor. This was unacceptable. The cost was $122 for approximately four hours and was returned in better condition than when we rented it.

Give yourself 1/2 an hour to do the check-in part if doing on-line check-in. This was my first time doing it on-line and it is a process, especially first time. Also after drop off, not all areas have that drop key box shown in picture, need to have key put back in box that you picked it up from, may e add a few different pictures or impress that key should be dropped off where pucked up from..

No one from UHaul at the location. The BP attendant was helpful. I was unaware of the self checkout option and never feel good about not having the checkout paperwork in hand on such large ticket items. I will admit the app worked fine, but what if I didn't have my phone or lost it. I guess I just like working with humans and not phones

Truck keys were not there, long and difficult process to get assigned to a different truck. It set my entire moving process back and I was late for my movers.

Major issue:  When I arrived at this location to retrieve the car hauler at 11940 Tesson Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO, the gentleman at this location was unprofessional and did not have knowledge of the equipment and no customer service skills at all.  I backed the truck to the trailer and he connected the trailer to the truck.  We checked all lights and he advised me to move the truck and trailer for positioning to load the vehicle.  I am not familiar with the car hauler and the gentleman returned back into the convenience store for me to load the vehicle without any assistance.  I had no idea how the trailer was supposed to react while loading the vehicle so when i started loading the vehicle, I assumed the trailer must be a tilt trailer because the front of the trailer rose up and the front came back down when i surpassed the midpoint of the trailer.  After getting out of the vehicle, i discovered the trailer was not properly installed on the ball, which caused the trailer to disconnect from the truck..The front of the trailer is now sitting on the ground with the car completely in position on the trailer.  I went into the convenience store to advise the gentleman of his mistake and, with a shocked look on his face he stated “oh my, I guess you'll have to call roadside assistance”.  In my anger, I said, “are you kidding me?!?  Can you not fix this?”  He said, “no, I just rent the trailers, I don't handle any of that”.  I proceeded to inform him that we need to chock the trailer and use the crank to raise the tongue of the trailer to allow the truck to reconnect.  We got the trailer re-connected and I let the gentleman know that the safety chain at the front of the trailer is not connected to the trailer and it's just laying on the trailer.  I also pointed out that the quick link chain connector was bent, which would connect the chain to the trailer.  His ridiculous suggestion was “do you have some pliers to bend it back in place?”  I told him that, "if i can bend that back in place, using my hand strength, there's no way that the quick link can prevent a car from moving without bending again!”  I also let him know that "there is no way to bend the quick link back precisely enough to screw it back together.”  I ask him if he can simply go to Home Depot or Lowes to get a new quick link, and he said “no, I don't do that.  You'll have to go to a U-Haul store.  I just rent the trailers.  I can't do anything else.”  I explained to him that he was incorrect because “I rent the trailers and he provides the trailers”.  Which means he should inspect each trailer when it arrives to make certain it's ready to be rented safely. This was the absolute worse experience I have ever encountered in renting any vehicle.  The gas station at 11940 Tesson Ferry should never be allowed to represent U-Haul.   I had to strap the car on as best i could and go to the U-Haul dealership at 2529 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO.  Once I arrived there, I met with Janiece, who was extremely helpful and corrected all issues regarding the trailer, including the incorrect method used to attach the tow chains to the bumper of the U-Haul truck.  Janiece was a God sent, and the only reason I will consider renting from U-Haul again, because she had no involvement in the rental of the truck or trailer, but she was willing to correct the issues, while dealing with her existing customers at her store.

I had the truck for two hours. Drove it it 19.8 miles. I got my invoice and they billed me for 200 miles instead of 20. I called the location and the first thing they said was they took a picture of the mileage. I said I did too! He hung up on me. I hope this was an honest mistake but you never know. Make sure you take a picture of the mileage and the truck. I had no problem with the headquarters. They took my call and required me to send the photo I took and corrected the billing mistake.

Ensuring all parties involved follow the same procedures would streamline the rental process. The pickup location was not attended, the hours posted were not the same the attendant followed, myself and several other customers with reservations had to fend for ourselves to get rented equipment. A $50 rental guarantee credit “IS NOT ENOUGH” To offset the hassles and headaches involved with the pickup location. Uhaul SHOULD HAVE PAID ME to use THEIR EQUIPMENT, I will reconsider all my options in the future after this super crappy experience caused either by incorrect posted operating times or attendants simply making up their own operating schedule. Whatever the reason it caused a huge scheduling conflict that wasted an entire work day and upsets customers. Thanks a lot Uhaul 

Trailer had dirt and grass in it. Needed to be cleaned /swept or leaf blower put to it. Location is very limited on space and is in a gas station. People are nice but getting in and out was tight.

I did have several issues that prove frustrating to me during this rental process. One at pickup and the other at drop-off. First issue I had has to do with the walk around inspection customers do at time of pick up and some suggested options to prevent it from happening to other customers. Here is what happened, during the inspection part of the pickup I didn't recall seeing a section for inspecting inside the cab of the truck. Therefore I clicked continue which moved me to the next section of the process. Now wether I missed it or it just wasn't listed I can't say for sure. But either way there was no option to add any damage seen post clicking continue. This is what happened, I walked around truck addressing each section taking pictures of any damage I seen. I went through every section which included the entire outside of truck. Then without thinking about inside of cab I hit continue and proceeded to the mileage and fuel section. That's when I was instructed to climb up in truck. It was at that point I saw a small tear on middle seat without a sticker or patch on it. I scrolled down through the section I was now on and it only addressed the mileage and fuel. So I tried to go back to the inspection section and it logged me out. When I logged back in it took me right back to the mileage and fuel section, so was not able to go back and add the tare on middle seat. In order to document it was there prior to driving the truck I took a picture of it right then which will be time/date stamped to document it. I can send to you or f you would like, in order to keep from being charged for the damage. If I may suggest, it might be helpful to your customers if there was either a separate section for inside cab or the ability to go back and add damage missed post completing the section, yet prior to finalizing the pick up process. I'm not sure if this has been a issue before, but it was definitely aggravating for me. On a positive note, I would like to complement the cleanliness of the truck and the apparent maintenance and upkeep. The truck not only looked nice and clean but, it also was easy to drive and I was confident that the occupants and my belongings were safe.

Trailer I needed was blocked by another car mover trailer. Was able to move it myself to get access to mine. Also reviews about checking out online true. I was given a phone number to call to complete online check out (U-Haul rep did not come in, he was sick). I didn't mind however I can see how that can be frustrating to some.

I understand there isn't someone on site. But if that is going to be the case it should be a lot more straightforward. The info I was given for the keys was wrong. I've been here previously and it was the same situation. Thankfully I came a bit early. And the guy who works inside who clearly gets people asking about the Uhauls was not remotely friendly.

The van had a bit of a smell, but it was great! I loved the rear view camera and all of the features. Check in was marketed as completely contactless, but I ended up needing to go inside for the key - perhaps clarify that prior to pickup. Otherwise a great experience!

Have the confirmed truck available at the confirmed location. My reservation got switched at the last minute and was a longer drive. I'd set it up for picking up in the store. When I arrived at the store, I was abruptly told the person that handles that isn't in today and I have to do it through the app. Call the phone number for service and he helps me out get in the truck and the pads and dolly if ordered aren't in there. Call the number again. Told to go to my original location to get them. Start the truck, check engine light is on. Call the number AGAIN and get moved to another truck that runs well enough. Just a horrible U-Haul experience all around. I will be using other companies the next time I need truck rental.

Not very good service. Back of trail was still filled with trash and dirt. Needed to be swept. It was a hassle trying to leave the place as a trailer was still connected. It took 60 min in all to complete the transaction and to get the trailer disconnected. I ordered 2 dozen blankets and got six blankets. They did not have an appliance dolly so I had to take a regular one. The one thing I can say, is that they did have the truck.

I am so VERY dissatisfied with this location!!!!! We rented the truck from the Simko BP gas station at 11940 Tesson Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO. We had the truck for 1 and a half days (2 days charge). Our mileage was app. 289.2 miles and they charged us for 353.0 miles. This in return over charged us by $50.40. On top of that my husband put gas back in the truck when he dropped it off, BUT NO they said we did not put gas in it and charged us a $30.00 fee for their inconvenience (haha) and $20.25 ($4.50 a gal) for the gas on top of that. We have the receipt showing the gas my husband put in at their station!!!! AND to top all of this off the truck broke down (oil light came on and oil pressure dropped from app. 45 down to 10 on the gauge) on the way home and my husband and son had to sit on the side of the highway for over 2 hours waiting for repair. I have contacted U-Haul the company and reported my concerns. I am now waiting for a response from them.

It would be good to have the equipment available that the customer reserves in advance. I reserved a 15' truck and it was not there and had to take a 20' truck. Charge the price quoted. I was quoted 29.95 day and when given 20' truck told I needed to pay 39.95. Do what you say you are going to do. I was told 20 foot would cost 29.95/day and then billed 39.95. Have a printer available to print your bill so you can dispute problems. No printer was available and was told my bill would be e-mailed to me. It was and the bs above was never taken care of. Also told that the $33 discount was for discrepancy in gas in the truck, when engaged it was 31 miles to empty and manager told me it had to come back 1/4 full at least, which it was. Bad rental I would not recommend or use ever again.

U-Haul sent me to a location where there was no truck in the size I needed. When I got to another location, the truck was dirty, and the gas gauge and mileage did not match the UHaul system. A U-Haul rep who sent me to the second location said I would get a $50 credit for the extra hassle (and time lost), but I did not get that credit on my bill. This rental was for my church, and we have used your system many times. This is our first bad experience, and we don't know what went so very wrong to lead to this.

Make sure all of requested supplies are in the truck when the customer picks it up. The moving blankets and appliance dolly i reserved were not there, and it wasn't discovered until I got the truck home. Plus, it took a 45 minute call with customer service to resolve

I reserved 6 moving pads and a furniture dolly, they didn't have either one there. also they said the truck as full of fuel and I drove less than fifty miles and it cost me 40 dollars to fill it when I returned, it wasn't full to start. Don't think I'll use U-Haul again.

The owner obviously does not work out of this location. The 12 packing blankets I rented were all filthy and on the dirty floor of an old car wash building. My online order had a furniture dolly that I was told was not available the day I showed up to get the truck. I had also requested an auto transport that I was told I would have to pick up at another location. I received a call late in the day that I was moving regarding the auto carrier. It was too late. I had to leave me car in STL and drive the truck to VA the and fly back to STL once I moved into my new place in Virginia. Then I had to drive another two days back to VA. Thanks for screwing me Uhaul!

Clerk at location was unable to process my reserved and checked in rental. I was handed a phone number on a piece of paper. I called and assumed owner requested I wait 10 minutes for them to arrive. Upon arrival of said owner and a hastily handled check in I was directed to a trailer blocked in by another rental truck, to which owner had no key available to move. I personally had to lift and maneuver the trailer out of it's space to be hooked up to my vehicle. The owner made no effort in moving the trailer himself, and and seemed to have to concern about losing the rental. Worst service ever and I've rented numerous trailers in multiple states over the last decade. I'll be looking for an alternative next time I need a rental.

The dust in the building is DISGUSTING. Literally visible LAYERS of dust everywhere. There were 2 employees, one was just sitting there doing nothing the entire 45 minutes we were trying to get a truck… And the other took her time and kept stopping what she was doing to do other things (like play with the dog that's in store) when we were trying to get helped. I was the only customer in there. There's no way they were too busy to get it done quicker and not have time to clean that place in the mean time.

Gas station was pretty dumpy. Communication from uhaul was poor. No email confirmation of pickup location, voicemail indicated incorrect address, and text message was evidently sent to the wrong number, resulting in me going to the wrong location, having to call customer service, being on-hold to get the correct address, which delayed my packing and move.

I would rent here again, however I was disappointed with how unclean the truck bed was. Also, a window had been left half down long enough for rain and a couple small spiders to get in...yuck. Finally, truck downshifted/braked automatically very hard when going down a slight incline and back wheels skidded sideways...road not wet..very scary.

I did my rental online, and the location I picked did not contain the type of truck I wanted. So they moved my location. I asked for 8:30, my online account said 8:30, but when I got to the place for my mobile check in I had to wait until 9:00pm. The mobile check in process also took 30 minutes, and there was a guy right there who could have checked it out to me way sooner. They also measure their trucks including the engine. So if you want 15 feet of storage space go with a truck bigger than the 15 foot truck.

Location is very unprofessional. Manager didn't know the software. He did not honor the agreement I had with the central office reservation. He overcharged me the next day upon return. I received a dirty truck with ashes in the ashtray. Location felt unsafe.

Made reservations at behind the bluff in Fenton mo and didn't have a truck so they sent us to another off tesson ferry which wasn't ready for 3 1/2 hours past my reserved time. Both places said I would get a 50 dollar credit. I didn't retur. The truck my husband did and they did not give a credit. So I called Monday and the lady argued that I was not getting my credit because I never had a reservation. Here is my reservation #20563566. I would like someone to contact at 314-302-8491. I'm not sure why 2 people would tell me from 2 different uhaul pick ups that I would get 50 dollar credit and now your saying I don't. Very disappointed in the customer service. Horrific... Horrible... Disgusting experience. Every time, at this location, the franchisee is never there and there is no one to HELP. THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED AT YOUR LOCATION! I was not able to complete the app/web login because of this issue. The vehicle was filthy and smelled of some when I got it. When I returned the vehicle, I specified that it was dirty and specified that it was not me who left it that way. And you charged me for reporting this to you. I requested a call back, but nobody called. Remove the $25 immediately. Also, expect a BBB complaint and a cc dispute!
