Equipment was clean but not maintained: check engine light was on all the time I had it! Although I ordered a truck at least 6 weeks in advance, I never got the size I requested and went thru three different location before final pickup. Certainly not up to the standard of the location I ordered it from and had excellent service from them.

THE TRUCK WAS FILTHY. Not wiped out, AT ALL, and during Covid, BRING YOUR OWN CLEANING SUPPLIES? Also, Don't bother doing anything beforehand online - she'll make you do it all again. Seriously, during COVID, I was trapped in their tiny enclosed store for 15 minutes while she re-did everything I already did online. THEN she wouldn't do a walkthrough around the truck, so I took a video of it instead. It was ridiculous. It was like she was being as difficult as humanly possible.

I will never rent from uhaul again! ABSOLUTLEY price gouged! I was lied to right up until i paid for it. This gentleman was not transparent, was not clear on what he already knew what was going to happen. He never once told me the truth about price/km!! So disgusted in how i was charged! If he was truthful right from the start i would of said no! Instead he raped my credit card!

Make sure the size of truck ordered is available a week or so before the move date. I am going to have to get another one to get the rest of the stuff still at my other house and it is a 5 hour drive each way to go back.

I called to address our charges as they were more than we were quoted. I was on hold for over an hour and then a machine kicked in to take a message. I left a message requesting a return call over 24 hours ago and still, no one has contacted me.

Very friendly and helpful staff! The van was in good condition but a wee bit dirty in the passenger cab. (ex. crumbs on seats and on dashboard; lots of dried mud on the floor). It didn't bother us for our needs...but just don't want to get blamed for it ourselves! LOL Not sure who is responsible for that?

Both man and woman are very hard to be nice too. I tried but when they tell you to sign off on the truck as is and the truck has many more dings and dents than the pictures show it is hard too. Inside of truck wasn't and looked lile it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. The male just kept trying to add things to the final bill with no reasoning behind it. Wanted the truck by 9am and he made me wait for an additional 45 mins past that time. Made no effort to apologize or show understanding when it came to not having the orginal items I reserved. Just rude and unpleasant. I won't be back if I can help it in any way.

At the time of the telephone booking, have your telephone representative mention the pick-up location. The pick-up location was sent in an email. When I called in to speak to another representative, I was informed that no other pick-up locations were available. Information, such as vehicle condition had to be sent from my (the customer's) mobile device. Photos of the vehicles condition should be submitted by the U-Haul representative when conducting a walk-around with the customer. The U-Haul representative should offer the option of either an electronic or paper receipt. The receipt info was only sent via email. No owner or maintenance manual was available in the vehicle to help me orient myself to the vehicle features or safety equipment. None of these issues helped me feel 'secure, convenient, or safe'.

The truck was filthy in the back I picked up a full garbage bag of trash before I could use it it was absolutely empty in fuel put $40 in it to bring it to quarter of a tank I just realized I got the bill and they had the wrong mileage to start I only put 30 Miles on the truck but was charged for over 60 I have rented many trucks from U-Haul and this was the absolute worst experience ever you should shut this location down a very dissatisfied customer on this rental

The operator of the U-Haul told me to be at his store at 8:30 a.m. for a pick up and he didn't arrive until 9:30 a.m....the vehicle was totally covered with snow and ice and there wasn't a scraper to clean it off...I took me until 10:15 a.m. to get the vehicle because he was opening his store up at the same time I was there. When I arrived back to drop off the vehicle, again he arrived 20 minutes late. Both times there was not an apology. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE!!!!

The drop-off was awful. The person who I was returning the vehicle to seemed to have no idea what was going on - probably because it was at a convenience store - and I had to call Uhaul corporate for them to explain to the person what a refund meant. It was insane. The return spot wasn't marked at all, so I had to drive around an unknown city in a massive truck looking for a tiny little sign in the bottom corner of a convenience store window. Never again.

This man was more than helpful, but what was frustrating was that I was told i could drop the vehicle of in Port Dover instead I had to drive another 20 minutes farther away to drop it off, and he was not even sure he could take it without getting an extra charge because it was not the area we said we were going to drop it.

The rep working at this location has accused me of using blankets at trying to say I owe him extra for it, after having already settled my account with him earlier in the day. I'm offended because I rented truck to take stuff to the dump so I have no need for blankets. Maybe instead of accusing me, the rep at this location should check truck with me prior to me leaving with it, including the back, and ensuring he checks it again when I return to prevent insulting a paying customer.

Very poor service.. store owner was late opening store when I had my uhual reserved for 9am... and he didn't show up till about 9:30.. night before he called me to pre warn me he may be late (read previous reviews and apparently this is a regular thing) and gave me his number to call him in case I was waiting for him... he gave me what had to of been his wife's number and I called and spoke to her first... I returned the truck the following morning at 9am.. he was not at the store, so I left the key in the drop box... get my email receipt and we were charged 2 rental fees because HE was late opening once again and didn't process our order until 11:36am! I called and got the extra charges removed but it was a hassle on hold 2 separate times for 15 mins each because he's flakey business owner

I received an email telling me my vehicle was at Renton location. It wasn't. It changed to this location. This Created a bunch of logistic problems for me. I guess your guarantee isn't true. I was told location and vehicle size and then when I checked with Renton they said I should have received a call which I didn't. Your policy states "should you not receive the equipment size, location, and pick up time you agreed to, U-Haul will compensate you $50.". I await your reply to this. Thank you.

The truck was on 1/4 tank fuel when I took possession of the vehicle. The vendor was not there when I arranged to pick up the key and truck and had to return to location 3x before he returned. Upon returning the truck vendor of uhaul again was closed during business hours and I could not pay for service. I dropped keys in box on wall and had to return again to pay cause I went home after waiting 40 mins for him to not show. Poor overall experience.could have forgiven the first day cause he said sorry but the second day is no excuse. He shouldn't be a vendor for uhaul because I won't rent there ever again.

The van was buried in deep snow, had no windshield washer and when we filled the washer fluid it still didn't spray on the driver's side. There was no brush to scrape the windows and it was during the coldest days of January. We returned it and there was no explanation of different rental charges and was told to park it back in the snowbank it came out of.

Improvements needed...clean the basics...windshield, head lights, mirrors, blankets. use something to get rid of the foul smells. It had low mileage, so how it get a disgusting odour in such a short amount of time? If you want it clean when its returned, make sure its clean when the customer picks it up.

Better instructions for where to park the truck. I parked next to a Uhaul van in the parking lot and was then told repark the truck behind the plaza. The drop off process took a long time. The person did not help resolve an overage charge but suggested I pay it and then call the corporate office to dispute it.

I rented a u-haul from the owner in Renton. The owner was very pleasant and extremely helpful. He entered all my information and I was good to go. I received text and email info that I was to pick up the u-haul at 8 queensway in simcoe. Fine. We went to pick up u-haul and convenience store associate was not helpful and had an attitude. She lost all my info so I had to resubmit again. That took 20 minutes. Then she said this u-haul was booked for one way. I said no I booked round trip, she then huffed and said she will have to rebook everything again. Another 20 minutes. Finally we are on our way. Get everything moved and return back to simcoe. My husband went in to return the key. After about 40 minutes he comes back out. Come to find out she gave us the wrong u-haul and gave my husband a hard time. Overall was not the best experience. If I ever have to do this again I will definitely go to Renton for pick up and drop off there.

The store hours say 9:00 am Sunday on your website. I booked the truck for 10 AM. I arrived at 9:45 am thinking it may take a few mins to verify the information I had entered when I booked the truck. The store didn't open until 10:25 am. No explanation or apology. Then she proceeded to take 4 different phone numbers from me. I asked her if she wanted the reservation number to speed the process up but she said that wouldn't help. After we paid she handed they keys and turned away, not answering me when I inquired the location of the truck. We walked the parking lot until we found the truck. We found that there was not as much gas as what was stated in the contract but we were already late so we took a pic of mileage and gas and went on our way. The truck had obviously not been wiped down or cleaned up from last use. When we returned the truck to the store we encounter another hassle as they realized they gave us the keys to the wrong truck. So Milage and gas were different than what was recorded in contract. My husband had to stand there for 20 minutes while they figured out how to fix thier mistake by calling another dealer on the phone. He then charged my husband an additional $27 + change!!! So we put in $25 extra gas and paid the difference in milage!!!???? My husband was pretty fed up at this point and just wanted out of the store so he paid it and left. Will NOT use that location again for thier lack of concern for the customers time and money! To rent the truck for the days and go 120 kms it cost us aprox $205 :/

I waited half hr on site for location to open. Was to pick up van at 09:00, store did not open until 09:30. I had checked in on line to expedite and still had to do the same when picking up the vehicle. Total time lost approx. 1hr 15:00 I will never visit this location again

When I arrived at simcoe convenience and food mart i explained that i was dropping off a truck, the look i got form the lady was i was bothering her she asked me to park the the behind the store and let her know what the mileage was. So i did i told her the mileage on the odometer and she started typing in the information. Not once did she leave her chair to check if i was telling the truth or the truck or how much gas was in the truck at the time i dropped it off. I have rented from U-haul before and never ever an experience like this. She didn't even check nothing and took me for my word.I was honest the next person may not be

There needs to be a check of the vehicle upon drop off. The vehicle I rented was disgusting (wet, dirty and smelled of cattle and / or garbage)... I had to mop and use a tarp in the cube portion where my household furniture was being placed to be moved.

Called to confirm 5-days prior. Was told at that time there was no record of my rental. Called U-Haul head office and they confirmed the reservation. It was not until later that evening that Simcoe Food Mart confirmed reservation. The night before pick-up I was called by Simcoe Food Mart that the truck would not be ready until 10:00 AM when it was booked for 9:00 AM. I stated that this was unacceptable and that the reservation was over 1-month old. Simcoe Food Mart stated that they would open their store at 9:00 AM but if I wasn't there by 9:05, they would close until 10:00. Very poor customer service. My U-Haul truck that I rented from a Brantford location was not brought back by the previous renter. I had to find my own truck in a town 40 km away. The new truck had to be returned to the location I picked it up from. This was a huge inconvenience because where I picked up the truck was about 150 km away from where I was moving too. The location I was able to rent he truck from is in a town with no public transportation. I was told that U-Haul would not cover my costs for transportation even though this situation was not my fault. I was offered a discount which resulted in about 50% savings on my original booking price for my troubles. This whole experience was awful and I do not think I will be using U-Haul again as this is not the first time I've seen something like this happen. The 8 Queensway E location is not bad, this was just a very bad situation.

My gas was only 3/4 full to start but I was expected to fill to full when returning. I told the u haul person this but they didn't seem to care. Also I had to rent a u haul 30 min from me when there was a u haul in my town. I spent a hour driving more than I should have. I expect beteeen filling the tank which was only 3/4 full and the driving to Simcoe and back it cost me a extra 80 bucks at least. Not happy about that

As per our rental agreement we were to pick up the truck at 8:30am to begin our move. We arrived on time only to find that the variety store where the Uhaul rental is located did not open until 10:00am. We tried to phone the store but no one answered. We contacted Uhaul customer service & were told that we needed to complete the Online Check-in. We tried to do that, however, we were given an error message. We had no choice but to wait an hour & a half for the store to open at ten. By this point we were very frustrated. The store owner was very apologetic. The store was not at fault. We feel that Uhaul was at fault. Our contract stated that the pick up time was 8:30 & we also received a text message that morning stating the same. Uhaul should know the opening times of their locations in order to better serve their clients. This delay only caused more stress to an already stressful day. Other than the late pick up of the truck our experience was good and we use Uhaul again in the future. The store clerk was very sympathetic of our situation. We appreciate all that she did for us.

The customer service was polite and very accommodating the van wasn't cleaned but I think the people are lovely and need a little guidance.

The location opened later than stated. The vehicle smelled. The gas level did not agree with what was stated on the contract and the meployee refused to come out to verify. The site was closed (sign saying "Be Back Soon" when I brought it back), however they had the nerve to say that I brought it back late, and charged for an extra day! Also: I paid for a 4 hour rental including 150 free km. They charged me for the kms!

There was a smell of animal all through the truck, which he told me about when I got there. Also, there was 1/4 tank of gas for which I was told I have to return the same. When I was "cashing out", I told him that I was just under a 1/4. He told me that was not acceptable-had to be exact. I told him that it is next to impossible to know exactly how much. He went out and checked the gas gauge. I was wrong-it was actually close to a 1/2 tank. He told me that they can not give money back in that instance-he figured it was about $6 or $7 dollars more than 1/4. Thats a very unfair system-quick to demand money from the customer when it is a little under but not so quick when it is significantly over-not to mention the fact that by only giving it to the customer with a 1/4 tank vs a fill-up, chances are that the customer will be wrong in the amount of gas he puts in. Thats quite a "system" stacked against the customer.

The worst experience ever!!! A word to the wise before renting any Uhaul from the convenience store location at Wendy's plaza in Simcoe, Ontario. Make sure you take pictures of everything, like we did. He will try to rip you off!! We put in over the amount of gas that was supposed to be replaced and they were saying that there was not enough in there. Our pictures proved that we went over the amount that was needed. He was very unprofessional and would not give me a breakdown on what I was paying. My husband asked him again after I asked him twice and he kept saying I'll charge this amount to your credit card. I said NO as I wanted to pay cash after I seen the breakdown. Finally, he shows us and tries to scam us for paying for the Uhaul for two days!! We had it for exactly 23 hours and 58 minutes. Not even a day! After rectifying, he charges the credit card when I told him NO, I have cash. Then he would not give me my receipt!! We will NEVER deal with that location ever again!! Uhaul was great as they gave me a copy of my receipt through my email as he wouldn't give me a copy! I would of given this place no stars but they're lucky they get one, not by choice!!

I arrived to pick up the truck that I ordered for rent and it wasn't there although they did have a smaller truck to take , it still didnt make any sense that it wasn't there .I also ordered an appliance dolly that wasn't there for pick up which made what I had to move very difficult .I had a confirmation that my order was ready for pick up so something in your rental system isn't working properly
