I was very disappointed with my customer service experience at the 3-8 Queensway E, Simcoe, ON location. Have used U-Haul multiple times at other locations with no issues. My wife and I where yelled at, rather than having a standard routine discussion. I would never use this location again.John C.

I had reserved a 15' Uhaul Truck for March 4-6, 2022. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was informed that only a 10' truck was available. When I had stated that this was not what I had reserved. The owner of this location told me that either I accepted the 10' truck or I couldn't have a truck. Due to this, I was forced to do my move in two loads instead of only one. I had to pay double the km than what I should have had I been given what I had reserved. When I returned the truck, the other owner of this location argued profusely that I did not pay a $100.00 deposit when I picked up the truck, even though I had shown her my bank statement, proving that I had in fact paid the deposit. Further more, this owner had tried to charge me twice for the extra km and was trying to belittle me by saying that I did not understand how business works. I own two businesses of my own and am quite aware of how businesses and customer service works. This owner was very rude and condescending towards me. I had returned the truck 21 hours early and the owner would not compensate me for returning the truck early or their errors in not providing me with the truck that I had requested. I am not happy with the services that I received at this location whatsoever. I will be informing fellow business owners in my community of the poor quality of service and unprofessional business manner in which this location provides to its customers.twyla H.
Ordered appliance dolly, location did not have one. Was sent to another location to get one. They had left it outside all night. It was covered with ice, the wheels would not spin. I had to chip the ice off before I could use it.KEVIN H.
UHaul clients are put aside while other customers are taken care of first. The process has you being the customer, then moved aside and then you are the customer again, moved aside and then on and on. It took 30 minutes when I registered online prior to visiting the UHaul store.MICHAEL M.

This location is quite uninviting, difficult to find and to park at. The person we communicated with was unhelpful, unkind, difficult to get ahold of. We were also charged more than we agreed to.Matthew W.

The location was fine. The experience I'm dealing with U-Haul was pathetic. It is telling that this survey doesn't give me the opportunity to rate the central U-Haul organization. You changed my pickup locations twice and for some reason you changed my pickup time without my consent. Forcing me to deal with your under-staffed customer service organization and waste hours on the phone. Your online pickup service did not work and I was only lucky that the pickup location was open. This was one time no can say I truly hated dealing with a company. Sorry pickup location about the review but this was the only way I could leave the appropriate message about U-Haul the parent company.PAUL H.

Was called 2 days prior to my pick up date by UHaul to say that I had to bring the truck back to where I was picking it up doubling the amount of kms that I would have to drive compared to how I originally booked. Was told by Uhaul I would get 126km on them for the inconvenience but was charged for all the kms driven and am now fighting to get what I was overcharged back while UHaul and the pick up location play the pass the buck game saying that I have to contact the other to get my money back. First off, the hours of operation of this location, considering it's a convenience store is bizarre, not opening until 10:00 AM on a Saturday. On top of that, the staffer who was to open the store showed up late (10 minutes waiting out front) Then returning the vehicle at approx. 1:00 pm, the location was already closed for the day, so had to drop the key off. Got my receipt and noticed they charged for the use of utility dolly, and it never had the tag removed, so had to call them back to get them to correct the invoice. This whole experience left me rather dissatisfied with the entire process. Sorry UHaul, you should be holding your agents to a higher standard. If they can't operate within decent hours, should they really even be representing your brand?Daniel A.

This was the worst case of customer service I have ever experienced I was to pick up at 10am and did not leave until after 11:30 as I was left alone to dig the unit out of ice and snow. Quote from attendant was, "good luck, I hope you can get it out" Upon leaving, I had to stop at service station to put windshield waster fluid in. Upon returning the truck, I was asked to move it to a better parking spot (this should not have been my responsibility. I returned the truck at 7:00 pm same day and had to fight with attendant as they tried to be me for over 2000 kms traveled. Actual amount was 349km. This took another 45 min to get straight. I will never use this location again, and likely will not use Uhaul ever again because of this experienceKEVIN F.
Use another proprietor to market your services. Rude. Truly ignorant. Would ONLY give my invoice for mileage charges. She kept saying she emailed invoice. Yes the mileage one for $50. but no contract total cost. She raised her voice to me adamantly saying she sent contract email. I showed her my triple credit card pending charges and she said and I quote, â€œThat's Uhaul charging me.â€ Ok then why does it say Simcoe Convenience charging me? HELLO!! The names Billy Hunt not S C. I could go on but bottom line is I was doubled charged and she SOMEHOW sent email to me while I was standing in S Convenience. Looking her in the eye I said it's not here. Look!!! She was from India decent. So unprofessional and I'm a self-employed who treats EVERYONE WITH RESPECT . Even her which was hard. Although I ordered a truck at least 6 weeks in advance, I never got the size I requested and went thru three different location before final pickup. THE TRUCK WAS FILTHY. Not wiped out, AT ALL, and during Covid, BRING YOUR OWN CLEANING SUPPLIES? Also, Don't bother doing anything beforehand online - she'll make you do it all again. Seriously, during COVID, I was trapped in their tiny enclosed store for 15 minutes while she re-did everything I already did online. THEN she wouldn't do a walkthrough around the truck, so I took a video of it instead. It was ridiculous. It was like she was being as difficult as humanly possible.Susan H.

Very friendly and helpful staff! The van was in good condition but a wee bit dirty in the passenger cab. (ex. crumbs on seats and on dashboard; lots of dried mud on the floor). It didn't bother us for our needs...but just don't want to get blamed for it ourselves! LOL Not sure who is responsible for that?Andrea M.
Both man and woman are very hard to be nice too. I tried but when they tell you to sign off on the truck as is and the truck has many more dings and dents than the pictures show it is hard too. Inside of truck wasn't and looked lile it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. The male just kept trying to add things to the final bill with no reasoning behind it. Wanted the truck by 9am and he made me wait for an additional 45 mins past that time. Made no effort to apologize or show understanding when it came to not having the orginal items I reserved. At the time of the telephone booking, have your telephone representative mention the pick-up location. The pick-up location was sent in an email. When I called in to speak to another representative, I was informed that no other pick-up locations were available. Information, such as vehicle condition had to be sent from my (the customer's) mobile device. Photos of the vehicles condition should be submitted by the U-Haul representative when conducting a walk-around with the customer. The U-Haul representative should offer the option of either an electronic or paper receipt. The receipt info was only sent via email. No owner or maintenance manual was available in the vehicle to help me orient myself to the vehicle features or safety equipment. None of these issues helped me feel 'secure, convenient, or safe'.WILLIAMM R.

The truck was filthy in the back I picked up a full garbage bag of trash before I could use it it was absolutely empty in fuel put $40 in it to bring it to quarter of a tank I just realized I got the bill and they had the wrong mileage to start I only put 30 Miles on the truck but was charged for over 60 I have rented many trucks from U-Haul and this was the absolute worst experience ever you should shut this location down a very dissatisfied customer on this rentalGary R.

The operator of the U-Haul told me to be at his store at 8:30 a.m. for a pick up and he didn't arrive until 9:30 a.m....the vehicle was totally covered with snow and ice and there wasn't a scraper to clean it off...I took me until 10:15 a.m. to get the vehicle because he was opening his store up at the same time I was there. When I arrived back to drop off the vehicle, again he arrived 20 minutes late. Both times there was not an apology. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE!!!!Doug F.

The drop-off was awful. The person who I was returning the vehicle to seemed to have no idea what was going on - probably because it was at a convenience store - and I had to call Uhaul corporate for them to explain to the person what a refund meant. It was insane. The return spot wasn't marked at all, so I had to drive around an unknown city in a massive truck looking for a tiny little sign in the bottom corner of a convenience store window. This man was more than helpful, but what was frustrating was that I was told i could drop the vehicle of in Port Dover instead I had to drive another 20 minutes farther away to drop it off, and he was not even sure he could take it without getting an extra charge because it was not the area we said we were going to drop it.Rachel K.

The rep working at this location has accused me of using blankets at trying to say I owe him extra for it, after having already settled my account with him earlier in the day. I'm offended because I rented truck to take stuff to the dump so I have no need for blankets. Maybe instead of accusing me, the rep at this location should check truck with me prior to me leaving with it, including the back, and ensuring he checks it again when I return to prevent insulting a paying customer.Adam M.

Very poor service.. store owner was late opening store when I had my uhual reserved for 9am... and he didn't show up till about 9:30.. night before he called me to pre warn me he may be late (read previous reviews and apparently this is a regular thing) and gave me his number to call him in case I was waiting for him... he gave me what had to of been his wife's number and I called and spoke to her first... I returned the truck the following morning at 9am.. he was not at the store, so I left the key in the drop box... get my email receipt and we were charged 2 rental fees because HE was late opening once again and didn't process our order until 11:36am! I called and got the extra charges removed but it was a hassle on hold 2 separate times for 15 mins each because he's flakey business ownerRandal A.

I received an email telling me my vehicle was at Renton location. It wasn't. It changed to this location. This Created a bunch of logistic problems for me. I guess your guarantee isn't true. I was told location and vehicle size and then when I checked with Renton they said I should have received a call which I didn't. Your policy states "should you not receive the equipment size, location, and pick up time you agreed to, U-Haul will compensate you $50.". I await your reply to this. Gracias.Scott G.

The truck was on 1/4 tank fuel when I took possession of the vehicle. The vendor was not there when I arranged to pick up the key and truck and had to return to location 3x before he returned. Upon returning the truck vendor of uhaul again was closed during business hours and I could not pay for service. I dropped keys in box on wall and had to return again to pay cause I went home after waiting 40 mins for him to not show. Poor overall experience.could have forgiven the first day cause he said sorry but the second day is no excuse. He shouldn't be a vendor for uhaul because I won't rent there ever again.Cherri F.
