I noticed that the contract I was sent had the wrong information on it. My reservation was for 2pm, and I showed up a few minutes early so I could ask about the contract, but there was a sign on the door that said “out to lunch back at 2:45.” A guy in a nearby truck yelled “you’re gonna have to come back.” I said “my reservation is at 2.” He said “what reservation?” I said “to pick up the uhaul.” He got out of his truck all irritated and took us inside, then said “you don’t have a reservation.” I told him we did, and I showed him the contract, but he was insistent we weren’t in the system. He said “did you already check out?” I said “I booked it on the U-Haul website and it told me I didn’t actually pay for it yet, so I’m not sure.” He kept asking the same question, “did you check out,” and after a few more times of me saying the same thing he finally went “you checked out. You did it on the mobile device.” Then he threw us the keys and left as fast as possible, I didn’t even have time to ask about the contract or anything because he was so pissy about getting lunch or whatever. I had to call the uhaul customer service line to ask about the contract, and they told me that $98 was charged to my card instead of the $19.95 that was supposed to be charged, because “the customer estimated that it would be a 100 mile trip.” I said “I’m the customer, it’s not a 100 mile trip. I’m going from mid city to Glendale.” They said “whoever picked up the truck confirmed that it was an estimated 100 mile trip.” I told them I did not confirm that, I wasn’t asked any questions about the trip at all. So it also seems like this pickup location just tried to take more money from me by saying I’d be making a 100 mile trip, and hoped I wouldn’t notice or something? Terrible experience, next time I’ll use a local moving service instead of u-haul because it was so stressful and I ended up paying way more than I signed up for.

I never took possession of the van. When I went to pick it up it was blocked by a truck. The office was closed and there was no way I could take the van. However was odd is that I got a bill for it and the van was driven. Now I don't know who drove the van because I never drove it off the lot. So no I would not recommend this location.

The overall U-Haul service was not excellent this time. I had requested a 15 footer truck and a day before I moved they called me saying they only had a 10 footer truck available. I had to make two trips and had to pay for that extra milage which I could have save using the 15 footer. Next time I'm renting a Penske.

I was told that the closest drop-off location was not available for drop-off as they did not have the space. This meant that instead of going less than a mile away and a short drive time, I had to go to a location that was 4 miles away. That doesn’t sound like a great distance, but it required me to go through the heart of Las Angeles during Friday rush hour which took almost one hour to get to and 45 minutes to get back home. It was an inconvenience that I should not have had to endure. I think that I should be credited the extra milage that I paid for. The allowed included mileage was lower than I anticipated being that I had to drive from Sacramento to LA but with a stop in Pacific Grove, CA. Initially, when I first called for an estimate I was told that the mileage was unlimited by the agent. But when I called back to make the actual reservation I was given a set mileage, not the unlimited mileage I was initially told. I believe that they also told me that I was eligible for an AAA or military discount and those were not available at the time of making the reservation as well. I felt like it was a bit of the ol’ “Bait and Switch” game. Again, due to the lack of concern at the initial check-in, the trash and dirty truck and the fact that I could not turn the truck in at the closer location should merit some sort of discount as a gesture of fair business practices. I doubt I will hear back from anyone though unless the company really does care about its reputation and its customers.

The uhaul was not cleaned. I had to smell and step in urine to be able to get my items to San Diego for a customer. This was an unacceptable burden on my day that I was stuck with. Expecting the standard experience and given a pile of trash was such a let down. I will never use Uhaul again

The guy that made my reservation and met me at the door was super cool . I felt welcome and in good hands. The pickup truck was fantastic and in amazing condition. The overall experience was easy and enjoyable. Great location, Great Staff, two thumbs UP !

The gentleman was far from, but I will still respect him as another person. He was no where to be found when I showed up. Finally came outside and treated me like I shouldn’t be there. He didn’t do any check in process with me. Gave me a key and drove off. I thought he was going to return to go over return and check out with me so I waited. He finally came back and then said what are you still doing here. I would never go back to this guy and he’s lucky I kept my cool. He was one of the most disrespectful human beings that I have ever come across in my 38 years on this earth. I don’t care how bad of a day you’re having you never treat a stranger or another person with such disrespect. I hope all is well with him and that his day, week, and life gets better. Poor guy. All in all I am Thankful that I was able to get the uhaul and return it. Thank you for your service.

I ordered a truck and a dolly. When I arrived, the dolly wasn't there. He said I had to go to another Uhaul to pick it up. I was charged for the distance traveled to the other Uhaul location to pick up the dolly I paid for.

When I arrive at the drop off location, I asked the guy if he needed anything else from me and he said not unless you have any money. It was not funny and made me feel uncomfortable. He also took the keys without going over any farms or the vehicle with me, and I know I drop the vehicle off with enough gas because it was not a burden for me to have filled it up earlier that day, however I knew I was over the gas requirement so I did not bother. He documented that my gas was below the gas line and charge me an extra $30 to fill it up as I saw in an email after I already left. I should have a picture myself but only took pictures of my car parked on the outside. When I called customer service, they claimed that he said he documented it correctly. I asked them to ask him to send them a picture as proof, however he did not take a picture to show them and it is just his word against mine. This was after having the drop off location changed on me four times within the last 24 hours and resulting in this place, which was not even the closest one to me, and made me waste gas in the first place as well as a large time of my day.

Had an appt for 1pm. Showed up on time and waited for 45 mins. Rang the doorbell three times. Knocked. No one answered and the place was obviously locked up. A guy came out of the house connected to the building and said the place was closed and then slammed the door. Why would Uhaul let me reserve a van at a place that was not open with no means to pick up the keys? I was eventually re-rerouted to a uhaul place a few miles away. But to make matters worse I was sent a receipt that said I did pick up the van and I drove it 4 miles…. Seems like the person falsified the document to make it seem like he was working the location and allowed me to use the van even though I have a separate receipt from a separate location proving I picked up an alternate van. This has been a stressful, annoying and inconvenient experience

This is a very small U-Haul satellite lot, not a full-service U-Haul location. The owner was very nice & helpful, and my pick-up truck was clean & waiting for me. The truck was nearly out of gas, but there was a gas station two blocks away--I fueled it and received a full credit for the fuel against my rental. This small U-Haul location was near my house, and right next to the 10 Freeway, so very convenient--but as they have a small inventory, be sure to reserve ahead.

I was charged a fee of $93.88 in addition to my originally agreed and paid price in SF. The store in LA charged this and said the couldn’t help me and said their systems have been down. I returned this car on Saturday - not Monday as listed on this charge. U-Haul Contract 25096374

The person was rude and did not answer the door after 3 tries. I left and when I spoke to a uhaul rep she called and arranged for him to responded to me . When I called myself at 915 for my 9am reservation he said they weren’t open till 10 and hung up on me. The truck was dirty and the windshield was filthy and there wasn’t any fluid in the tank. A oil change light was lit when I picked up the van. I would NEVER rent from this location again.

When I arrived to pick up the Uhaul truck, no one was there despite having spoken to the owner many times during the week and arranging to pick up the truck at 9:00 am. There was no way to contact the owner besides the regular number. I had to contact another Los Angeles Uhaul and have them contact the owner directly. Even after all that it took 45 mins after my appointment time to get the code to the lockbox to get the truck. The owner never showed up, I did not receive my moving pads, and had to figure everything out on my own. I would not recommend this location to anyone, especially if you are on a time constraint.
