Mr. Lacey was in a hurry to get to an auction when I arrived, on time, to pick up the truck. He said that the computer was frozen and that he would enter the information later that day. He never entered the rental which caused problems when I went to return the truck. Mr. Pullum had to call him on Sunday to get the information entered so that I could return the truck.

Our problem was we dropped off on a Sunday and the lot was full of people that were at the church next door. The location was closed so we left the keys in the drop box at 11:55 AM but didn't call the number because spouse dropped off the truck and I had the contract with the number. We did call at 2:18 explained the situation and was told it would be ok then I get a bill for an extra day which I am now trying to get refunded

My requested equipment wasn't available so I was forced to drive almost an hour in the wrong direction to pick up the truck. I tried to find the equipment closer to me, preferably along the route I would travel on my move. The transportation folks were rude and unhelpful. The location owner was rude when I called to confirm, as requested in my text the day before the move. The equipment wasn't ready and was parked in a way that required the owner to come from 30 minutes away to attach the trailer and move it off the lot. He was very rude. His assistant attached the trailer and I only got about 3 miles down the road before the trailer pulled free, nearly killing me and other people on the road. The owner had to come back (another 30-minute wait) and he re-attached the trailer, but we had to return for another trailer as the brake was engaged and wouldn't release. (More delay). Finally, I got to the location for loading and I was 2 hours later than I should have been, which cost me 2 hours (at $90/hour) of extra labor for the load. Because of the delay, my unload labor was at another job and I had to wait 4.5 hours for them to come do the unload. On returning the truck today, the trailer came loose again (obviously something wrong with the trailer hitch). The return location wasn't open, so my unload crew was gracious enough to come to reattach the trailer, another 30-minute delay.

The representative was aggressively rude and wouldn’t let me speak. Our original reservation was changed around by UHaul from one location go another. The manager at the original location fixed it but apparently didn’t key the right amount of days to match the original reservation we made. The receiving location’s representative was belligerent and rude when u tried to explain. I will be reaching out to the corporate office to have this fixed as they keep adding fees to the reservation. It’s not my personal money but my company should not have to to pay extra for no reason

Originally, I had been scheduled to pick up the truck at your Market Street in Harrisonburg and only found out about the switch when I called that office on the day of pick up. As it turned out text were being sent to my business phone and not my cell phone, so I never received them. The lady at Harrisonburg was excellent, went above and beyond to try and find an available vehicle at her location. Without her help, I would have not known of the change of location. I am grateful she was on the ball and stayed in touch with me. I have no qualms about recommending her office to anyone in that area or who needs a U-Haul rental in the Harrisonburg area. A great representative for your organization.

I understand that U-Haul experience may be different at each location but I may never use U-Haul again. The man was nice enough when I picked up the U-Haul but that was not the case after the return. I dropped the truck off after hours as I was leaving town for the weekend. Over the weekend I seen a charge to my credit card which had a $25 additional charge for cleaning. After I return I stopped by the U-Haul office and as I walked in, the Lady at the counter asked me "How are you" to which I replied "I'm not happy" without anyone saying anything else I hear a loud and aggressive voice come from an office "He needs to talk to me." Within seconds the man who I rented the truck from emerged from the office and he started into me in a very unprofessional manner stating "first off you said that you were only going 20 miles, you went 40..." I had to interrupted him (felt like I was trying to calm him down) to remind him that I didn't know how many miles it would be, I just told him where I was going and he was the one who guessed 20 miles. Had he asked first what my issue was, as most professionals would do, he would have known that I was not questioning mileage. I had an issue with the charge for cleaning. The only issue he claimed that needed cleaning was that the back of the truck had tiny little leaves that will have to be cleaned out. Never mind the fact that there were Cheez-it crumbs in the cab of the truck when I picked up the truck. I explained to him that it was late and dark when I finished unloading the truck and I did sweep out the truck and I told him that I would sweep it out again but he told me it was to late, that he could not reverse the charge. Here is my views...I rented from Enterprise before, and when you do the vehicle is inspected together. Both of you note any issues so that there are not questions when returned. From U-Haul, he never looked at the truck before he gave me the keys. The fact that there was damage to the truck which I had to note and go back to show him with pictures before I took the truck and the cab was dirty, the unprofessional manner in which he spoke to me and to top it off, I returned several days later to checked the back of the truck and found that it still was not cleaned (took pictures which are dated stamped), so why was I charged if it was not used to clean the truck. I have a guess... He did tell me that they don't make much on the rental (something like $12) so I guess he just need extra money. By the way, no ideal where the leaves came from, no trees with that type of leaves around my house. It would be interesting to know if the people who rented before me were charged for the Cheez-its.
