Returned my rental early. (The same day that I rented it) Checked it back in using the after hours app and was still charged the $20 after hours fee. Not very customer friendly. Next time I'll just keep it the entire rental period, preventing you from leasing it out until it's returned. TIM K.

I rented for 2 days but only used for one day. Tank was fuller then needed. It would have been nice if I would get some money back for a shorter rental time frame and I had to drive further to pick up then I originally rented fromRobert C.

The cab had coffee splatters all around the cup holders, the last customer's water bottle was still inside, there was a plastic lid in the back of the truck, the windshield was filthy, the wiper fluid was empty, and the damages to the box skirting was excessive. Upon returning the truck, they tried to charge me for extra gas. It had just over half a tank when i picked it up and they tried saying it had 3/4 of a tank. The guy was rude about it as well.Brad T.

the truck was cleaned off and warmed up when we arrived. the inside of the truck was clean as was the back of the truck. the roll up part of the back was very hard to pull up and down while moving . of course moving in the winter has its challenges, but the ramp and bed of the tuck has no traction pads so there was some problem solving to make sure no one slipped. i don't think the â€œslipperynessâ€ could have been prevented by the site, but just as a word of caution to anyone renting a uhaul in the winter in michigan, the ramp and the box will be slick. when trying to check in in the store i believe the man helping us was new or just had difficulty with the process. it took us a 1/2 hour to check out (without waiting in line). we were directed where to pick up the dolly and moving blankets in the store. the blankets were thrown in a heep (most without a good way to carry them out (later we would find out they keep some on the truck you can break the green tab and use and they will charge you the same as if rented at pick up. they also had a regular dolly available that we were not aware of until we opened the back, which we did use and were only charged the fee that would have been charged had it been reserved. we had an excellent experience with the moving helpers u hauls website had available and were able to bring the truck back 2 hours before it was due. The business was still open but it was suggested that we do online checkout because it would be easier. The online checkout was i dead not bad, just involved taking a lot of pictures. we did however question the amount of gas needed to fill it back up as we put 3 gallons of gas in it and only traveled 6 miles in total. If these things only get 2 miles to the gallon I would be concerned if your going any distance. We were assured it was full when we picked it up. In all we got a clean, functional truck very close to the move sites. The rented equipment functioned properly and next time I would self check in and check out as i feel like it would have been much quicker and about the same amount of support.Carrie L.

I was over charged and the man who rented the stuff told me, well that is the way it is. I was charged for a dolly that I didn't use and I was charged insurance that I clearly declined. Also he never had checked the truck prior to me renting it. Just told me to do it. At this point I would never rent from uhaul again.David P.

Better training and knowledge of U haul return procedures! They did not know what to do and he kept pushing us off to the side as he waited on other customers! We waited 40 minutes and still had to call the u haul help number and they finally took care of us! This is the second very poor experience we have had with returning to this location! Provide the U-Haul location with a newer computer the one they have seems to old and out dated uhaul should provide their retail locations with equipment that works because that part took longer then hooking the trailer upJohn J.

I was startled to discover the gas tank was filled to just over a half tank. I expected it to be fully fueled. I refilled it to the level of gas that I received it. I took photos of the gas gauge at the beginning and end that I cn share, but I haven't found a place to do so - either here or on my phone check in.Ellen H.
When the customer tells you that they are going to return the equipment to another location explain that it is an extremely large charge first or offer other equipment before saying okay I will extend your rental time and send you on your way. Then later you end up having to return the equipment back to where you rented it because the charge was four times the original rental cost. Which in turn added one and one half hours to your trip and an additional $20 in fuel charges.Christopher B.

It was clean, but the gas tank was not full like the dealer had said it would be. The link he sent to dispute anything had expired & I was on a timed schedule, so I couldn't go back in and dispute it with him. Still filled it back up to full. Had help put the trailer on since its an automatic ball hitch style. In the past i never had used a system like this before, he showed me all the tie downs were along with what to watch out for. I would come back to self serve lumber co again.aaron L.

I was charged a fee that I wasn't aware of existing. And I'm pretty mad about it. I will not be recommending uhaul because of this. I am on a limited budget and an extra $20 fee is a lot to unknowingly get hit withKellie B.
We rented for local moves 4 times in 2 weeks. The way Guy and Charlie treated us was nothing short of exceptional. Then, on our last move that was out state, we had a major change occur. I called u haul, their agents went over and above and found a solution. Then, once again, Guy stepped in to make everything work fair, and smooth. In today's world where most large companies advertise one thing and rely on small print to deliver less, u haul has proved to be far more than an exception. Great people, clean and nice vehicles, innovative loading and moving accessories for added ease... And good pricing. I'm extremely satisfied with everything. It's a no brainier, use u haul.john K.

Rented a 15' van to move some things to storage (locally). I took their word for it that the fuel was at "full" at the time of rental. I should have looked. I drove the vehicle for approx. 15 miles before returning it. When I re filled the gas, it took 9.6 gallons. I mentioned this to the rental location and they made call. I was reimbursed for 5 gallons. Apparently the guy on the phone thinks the vehicle gets less than 4 miles to the gallon. Never believe what you are told and only half of what you see.mark S.
