Security Storage, Glendale Street, Winston Salem, NC - neglected to have someone on site to open the gate to storage facility-( right before a holiday weekend) causing us to have to keep our truck packed and on hold until the facility decided to reopen 2 days later. Because of this I also ended up having to drive 45 miles each way to Greensboro, NC to drop off one load of the packed vehicle at another storage unit and then back to Winston Salem to get the final load so that my daughter- who is a medical student could vacate the apartment she was in by the May 31st end of Lease date. By the storage facility not opening their facility at 7:30 am as per their ad and as per our conversation and agreed upon time on Saturday evening- it created the following : This whole event created great stress- Additional moving time- of 2 days Additional driving time- having to drive to neighboring town 45 minutes away just to get one load off the truck- adding miles to the truck. Additional gas spent due to additional drive time. Security Storage unfortunately really dropped the ball- the guy working the counter on return -appeared totally disinterested- never offered any compensation on their neglectful behavior. I should not have to pay for the unnecessary mileage or the additional 2 days that I was forced to keep the truck - that was fully packed and couldn't unload at their facility due to Security Storage Facility's neglectful behavior.VANESSA D.

Uhual should honor the reservations the customers book. Uhaul will wait until the day before your reservation and "update" the pickup location all the way across town. Their policy sucks, and puts customers in a no win situation. With less than 24hrs before your reservation, what options do customers have? Cancel the reservation, and then what??? What options do customers have with booking another rental agency on such short notice? Heaven forbids you need to make a last minute reservation over the weekend. And there's no recourse or compensation for the inconvenient of having to pick up the equipment way across town.... Nope, Horrible customer service.Justin F.
Don't rely on the 24/7 service because it may say it's available but actually isn't at some locations. Staff was very nice and friendly. Make sure to do a check of the vehicle for any damage or mess and take note before leaving the premises.SARAH M.

The staff at this location was great to work with. They were friendly and very helpful. The overall experience was good. The only downside was when I placed the reservation I was under the impression that I would be picking the equipment up at the rental center approximately 3 miles from my home. Instead, I get the notice the day before that I had to travel approximately 25 miles out of the way.Michael W.

Clean the truck so damage is visible to new renters for their inspection and put the dolly for packages in the truck so customers don't have to wait until you open to retrieve what they paid for.Alesia D.

The rental went well however I was DOUBLE charged. The general manager at this site was RUDE DISRESPECTFUL and downright MEAN. He didn't want to hear me out but insisted he was right and he insisted if I had an issue to call corporate. No wonder after being on the phone with corporate for just over an hour and a half they listened to my original order conversation and finally admitted the overcharge not only refunding the overcharge but also giving me a $15 vip credit for my next uhaul purchase. WILL NEVER USE THIS LOCATION IN THE FUTURE. Very poor customer service after return and OVER CHARGED for rental. This location needs their franchise revoked.KIM G.

Thanks for asking. I believe u-haul provides good service. However, when it comes to clarity on with charges for mileage it can be misleading. Yes on the contract which I was not made aware of, that 116 miles was allowed which I honestly didn't pay attention to . All that was made clear to me is that the truck had 7/8 worth of gas and when it should be returned. But when I returned the vehicle, I was made aware that I went over the mileage that was on the contract I received. It could go both ways. I should have looked closely at the contract or it should have been stated from the beginning. I chose uhaul because it was reasonable and I didn't see mileage being a upfront notice like Ryder, budget and Penske. Nevertheless, I will use U-haul again. Thanks for listening.Kevin S.

Called 1-800 number to reserve a truck for 2 days since that is not an option online. Was told I was good to go but upon arrival I was told I could only have the truck 1 day. Rep worked with me immediately and found a solution right away. He was great company Rep!philip C.
