This truck was disgustingly dirty I was afraid to sit on the seat with shorts on. Coffee was spilled all over the cup holders. I was told it had half a tank of gas and it was below that. It had a little over one quarter. Steering box was off as well it had alot of play in the steering wheel it was all over the place. If I had to drive this truck at night it would have been very difficult because the windshield was filthy. The gentleman and the location were perfect. Very disappointed with this truck!. Store windows were soaped...it looked closed and dingy. We dropped of our van and had to use key drop. Not open on Saturday am 10?? strange.

After the horrible trip from ca. Joe the man who helped us here in Amsterdam was very understanding to horrible things we have been through with uhaul and actually treated us as human beings and not just money in their pocket. Would highly recommend using this drop off site for either pick up or drop off. As well as storage units. This was only high light to our trip across country with uhaul.

I had a reservation at 9am. The guy didn’t show up to open the door until 9:15. I lost 15 minutes of work time because of this. I’m not sure if 15 mins of pay means anything to you, but it means something to me. I also received no info on how to return the trailer. When I returned it no one was there so I just left it. When I called UHaul to ask what I need to do to check it in the rep basically asked if I can bring it to a place that was open!!! The answer was No. My contract was to pick up and drop off at the same place. I was not about to lose another 30 minutes driving to another U-Haul spot. Terrible service.

I did not receive a phone call the night before my move and of course the next morning found out that the truck did not have any rope or any dollies for rent--I had to purchase rope at the store so it was an additional expense--Had they called the night prior this would have been a non issue- The gent at the store was very helpful

Rented a trailer. It was full of snow. The tongue and chains were frozen in ice firmly to the ground. I feel the trailer should have been prepped and ready. I did reserve it in advance.

The staff was great!! I walked in at last minute and they were able to help me. Originally, I had booked Schdy, and a 10 ft. trailer. I really only needed a van, which they had in Amsterdam. Much better, more convenient.

I would HIGHLY recommend using the facility at this location! The best of the best in customer service! If I wasn't moving out of state, I would continue to ONLY use this location. They took the liberty of going out of their way for me which is something you don't receive often. I will forever be grateful.

made reservations with another location 2 weeks prior to date needed. 2 days before needed got phone call can't pick up at time needed and also had to go out of my way to pick up at another location. then told can't return to closer location without extra fees.

Had 3 o'c;lock appt for pick up....Unit had not been updated in the system so we had to wait while they did that. Then no one was available to help us hook it up to our truck so we did it. When we mentioned to the owner of the U-haul in Amsterdam that it was missing the left S hook to connect the trailer to the truck he said we would be fine with just one. While returning the unit to the Escondido U haul we learned it is a huge moving violation to not have the 2nd S hook as the trailer can break free.

Through no fault of the folks onsite, Our reserved truck was not available on time. The folks at the location were patient and helpful and getting Us a truck. The delay was inconvenient but having to cancel our plans would have been horrible.

The only complaint I have from the experience is that my guaranteed pick up location was changed at the last minute making it that much more difficult/stressful on moving day. Other than that, everything went smoothly, and I would definitely use this service again.

1. I had scheduled a truck and trailer to be picked up in Albany. Day before I had to speak with 8 different people because they said they didn’t have one. I had a panicked day because they gave me no assurances as to what I’ll be able to do for pickup. The regional traffic person Angela was wonderful - but everyone else at the regional branches were clueless. I got screwed over by having to spend more than a quarter tank of gas to go get the trailer and then again back. That’s about 40$ or money wasted that I was forced to spend because of the incompetence of the branches. The trip took one hour each way just to get a trailer. The ratchets were so rusty it took forever to strap down the vehicle. Definitely needs major servicing. The gas tank when I picked up was below 3/4 yet I had to return it with 3/4. Me being the good person I am returned the tank full - and that’s an additional 30$ I spent. There was absolutely no organization - the first person I spoke too messed up my entire reservation and trip - the guy at the broadway Albany Office. When I got back to Long Island I had 5 phone calls from different people confirming I was bringing it back. It was chaos and one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.

It seems like every time I rent from Uhaul lately the equipment either isn't available at the time of reservation or I have to go to another location to pick it up or the truck is filthy. This particular experience my reservation was for 10 am and the vehicle wasn't returned until 2:30pm. This delayed My movers and was an added expense to me because I had to rent the truck for 2 days instead of one. I had to clean the back of the truck out before I could use it. There was trash and cigarette ashes inside the vehicle and the AC wasn't working. It was 98 degrees out. This past experience may be my last!

Made a reservation, then ended up without a moving truck completely due to over booking! I will never use u-haul again and I won’t recommend it to anyone. I also got charged $100.19 and now I have to wait for it to “clear” to get my money back. What a joke.

Drop off site has separate doors marked uhaul and their kayak business. The uhaul door is actually only a storage closet. Suggest that door be signed to indicate uhaul customers should enter the kayak business door. The first time I went there the uhaul door was locked so I thought they were closed. I didn't know to walk to the other door.

There was only one person helping customers, so even though I pre-checked in, the wait time for picking up was quite long. The appliance dolly strap didn’t work, the handle just spun all the way around when trying to tighten the strap; locking mechanism that would stop the handle didn’t work; had to go buy cargo straps to get the job done. I was charged for fuel even though I refueled the truck just before dropping it off. I dropped the truck off after hours, so no opportunity to discuss at check in.

Someone hauled cut wood in trailer and didn't clean out the wood chips and piles of dried mud in it before returning it. The trailer worked really well in hauling what I needed haul....... after I cleaned it out.

We dropped off the truck and keys and apparently got charged for going one mile over without knowing it! All we did is drive from the entered pickup location to our destination, and straight to the drop off location. Then, since I didn't check my email soon enough I got charged a $30 late fee for not paying a 1 mile over the limit fee! I will never use uhaul again!
