The last two times I've rented a Uhaul it was a terrible experience with lackluster customer service and less value. The second to last time I returned the vehicle with more gas than I took it with and when we tried to refute the extra fuel charges it was so hard to contact someone we gave up. This second time when I asked about it, I was told to use the text link to set the actual amount of gas in the vehicle. Well, I did and discovered that what the service woman scratched on the paper wasn't what the vehicle had! Then, when I tried to return the vehicle, at 2:12pm I was told at the location that they had closed at 2pm, when the website showed them closing at 4pm. Also, because they were closed, I couldn't hand the woman at the counter my keys, I had to use the external drop box, and I would be charged a $20 convenience fee if I didn't use the mobile website to 'return the truck' which turned in to a frustrating string of answering questions and taking pictures. The experience was terrible, and I'll be renting vehicles elsewhere from now on.Ralph B.

I was not informed that there was an â€œafter hoursâ€ $20 drop off fee. I could have returned the trailer before closing - but chose to wait for a convenient time for me. Nobody was on location to assist in parking or check-in of the trailer , so I don't know what the fee would be for?Mark M.
Great customer service. A great sell tactic would be if a customer will have to wait for a slight moment. Offer to take a look around the store and they will be called next on list. Promotes more sales either that visit or a future purchase. Now the customer will have a mental note where some products are to go make a purchasejose P.

The F150 truck was dirty and hadn't been cleaned in some time. Also, the truck was returned with more gas than when I picked it up. The contract agreement said the truck had half a tank, but it was slightly less than half when I picked it up. I put 3.5 gallons of gas in it after driving roughly 15 miles, which left the vehicle with more fuel. When I got my receipt, I was charged $13 for two gallons of gas, which was ridiculous. $13 isn't going to break the bank, but it was disappointing treatment.Ralph B.

The availability is very convenient; however, the costs are really deceiving... I thought I was getting a $40 rental for a half day, but walked out with a pending charge of $119. I was confused because I was given the Uhaul with an empty tank, I had to put gas in the tank, AND paid for gas through Uhaul (extra unexpected cost I paid above), was supposed to get reimbursed some of the gas cost, and still walked away once it was all said and done paying $109 (with the "refund"). I couldn't back out because I was relying on the use of the Uhaul, so I had to pay the cost. I had even reserved the 10 foot Uhaul online in advance, a somewhat lengthy process, and then ended up giving the same information again once I got to the pick up place. Seemed kind of pointless. All in all, an interesting and somewhat expensive experience.Kerisha S.

Tried many times to check in before pickup date. Website refused to allow upload of drivers license photos. While waiting to get me trailer, two others told of the same problem. Also was unable to upload photos of trailer condition. Agent told me that was a common problem and told me to just keep the photos in case of a dispute.Thomas V.

Your website needs an overhaul. If your customer is expected to inspect the vehicle on behalf of Uhaul and then submit pictures, tools required should work first time, every time. This was not the case. Attempts were made at 1130pm to drop off the vehicle, then again at 9am with the website refusing to accept pictures either occasion. When asked for help from the in-store customer service representative, there "was a 800 number by the key dropbox" and refused assistance past that point. Obviously this isn't the first time they've had to deal with a frustrated customer. Figure it out!Nicholas C.

Have the trucks ready to rent. They wanted to give me a truck that was out of gas. Then the engine light came on and was told "that happens sometimes " "as long as the brakes work don't call us" I will go back to Buget rentalsMarianne B.

The gas tank was below empty when I picked up vehicle even though the paperwork started that the tank was at 1/4. The dolly was not secured by previous renters so kept slamming into back of cab. These vehicles should be checked before you rent them out.APRIL H.

I'm good with technology, but I signed up on the computer but needed to access everything from my phone once I got there. I needed to go back and get my computer. There were also some glitches in the website. Check in took way to long because of these and other issues. Checking out was easy enough after hours.Mike W.
