The initial location I chose was less than 5 minuted from my home. They moved me to this location on the other side of town, 15 minutes away. This location is not in a very safe area of town. The app crashed no less than 10 times while checking out the truck. As I was taking pictures, it crashed, multiple times. I didn't even get a confirmation that the process was finished, I just signed back in and it said it was active. I had also paid for furniture pads and a moving dolly, the app didn't tell me where to go get them and they certainly weren't in the truck. Free $12 for U-Haul, I guess. The truck had about 3/8 of a tank of gas, which would have been fine for an in city move, but I was moving to another city. I ended up stopping for gas on my way to my new home. The best thing I can say is that this truck operated like a truck and held my things. Returning the truck the app crashed again, and when taking pictures of the odometer, kept malfunctioning. I had to retake that picture at least 5 times.

Marion GThis is not a formal U-Haul rental site, just an established discount grocery store where you walk in and hand the keys to a designated employee who covers U-Haul returns. But the employee was helpful and the location is very close to my house so it's my preferred drop off place. The process was smooth and the check-in return very swift. Thanks U-Haul. You're still the least expensive way to move.

Jennifer LThe only U-Haul equipment or supplies that I saw at this store location was the 10' truck that I rented. The rental was very smooth, the equipment was outstanding in cleanliness. I drove from Champaign to pick it up and had to drive back the following day after loading to rent an auto transport trailer at another Decatur location. It was very inconvenient and time consuming, but I appreciated the equipment availability in IL.
CAROLYN PIt said drop off was a hotspot, but I could not get Wi-Fi.
Jason SPickup was a bit of an ordeal. The point person did not have a record of the contract even though the truck was in the lot. The truck's cargo area was dirty with leaves and dirt to the point I swept it before we used it.
Louis VMy problem is with the company more than the location. I was charged 3 different times. The truck drove poorly. My supplies were out at the store. I got charged almost $100 for supplies I never received. And I don't know quite what the $165 was charged for. Outside of being late I don't know what all that charge was for because I had the truck for 3 days and it never moved because it drove bad

Robert SManager didn't know or want anything to do with me. When I asked about the keys his answer was it's all done online and walked away. I went outside and called the number, it said the problem was on their end. The next statement was leave your number and we'll contact you in 60 minutes. I went to the store on Pershing and Jerrod helped me. Finally after trying to pick van up at 10 AM I drove away from the savalot at 1 pm. Oh and manager had the key's all the time. Had to pay helpers for 3 hour's to wait for the van. No blankets that I paid for in the van. Again had to go to Pershing to get the blankets. Not a good experience. Outside of van great but the back was dirty inside, even Jarrod noticed it.
Kenneth SOur U-Haul was the only one in the parking lot. The shopkeeper had trouble getting her IPad to work, so we were delayed half an hour as she struggled...NOT her fault, it was the equipment. When I asked if it had been serviced, she said yes, but it was not a convincing reply. The cab was kind of grungy, though free of debris. Once we had it loaded, we noticed that the front tires splayed outwards so we were driving partway up the insides of the tires, which worried us all the way. The left side-mirror was so loose it flapped back & forth, and we had to tape it in place, since we did not have an Alan wrench. The other was impossible to budge, so you had to keep leaning left to see into it. The lights inside the back did not work. There was no one to accompany us to the truck or be sure we were satisfied. It just felt unprofessional and funky. This was not an official U-Haul facility, to be fair. It was just a super market.
Joshua KI had done the online check in. The employee where I picked up truck said they had to redo it there. Then couldn't get the device she was using to save info. Finally she had to call someone else to help. The whole process took a half hour to check in AFTER I had already done online. Meanwhile my paid movers are on the clock and waiting for the truck. Very disappointed in service. Why in the world did I need to go through check in process twice? Make sure employees know how to do check in process!!!
JARVIS JEverything! The salesperson was not well trained or informed on helping a customer pick the right deal for what they needed. There was a miscommunication on mileage and price and I ended up paying not quadruple but more than quadruple the price that I was quoted. Very disappointed will not refer to anyone will not recommend. I then had to speak with customer service due to my extremely high bill to no avail they do not care about the customer no customer service skills! Hopefully something changes soon
THOMAS MFix actual issues instead of resetting them. When I picked the truck up the check engine light was not on. within the next 2 starts it came on. Service came out, told me it was an oxygen sensor and the worst thing that would happen was poor mileage if it was bad. He reset the alarm and off he went. within the next 2 starts. Poor mileage is an understatement!
JAMES HNeeded a trailer last minute close to the Mt. Zion area. Location was new so Area Manager, James, helped with my pickup. Super helpful!
