I did a remote pickup of a 15' truck with an appliance dolly ordered. The appliance dolly I paid for wasn't even in the truck when I picked it up remotely. Since the business was closed due to not being an essential business (assumingly?), I had no one to help me get it right. I did call UHaul and they eventually got me a dolly to pick up, but it cost me gas and more importantly time to be able to get it. Someone dropped the ball here, not sure who.Andrew H.

The people were very nice, if not a bit slow and casual. My haul had cigarette ashes in one of the door pockets. (This is a review of UHAUL IN GENERAL: IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT YOU DO NOT GUARANTEE A PICKUP LOCATION. The location of the office was odd you walk into the main business entrance and are told the U-haul area is over in an office. There were three desks in a row, all the employees looked up and smiled. I felt a little awkward standing there not knowing if this was the actual office. Then the employee that helped me had to use her cell phone for the transaction and looking around and seeing desktops on each table it seemed strange for her to be using her phone.Susan E.

My first pickup point was vermillion midway mini storage, they were horrible. the employee had no idea what to do to fill my order because the online checkin does not work in that area. I called an 800 number she gave me and their answer was to send me to safe and reliable limo which was 30 minutes away from where I was, and guess what we ended up going over in miles...surprise? There were no agents present when I dropped it off at 8:30am the next day. I also had to unhook it myself. I received a call from UHaul at 1:00pm the same day asking when I was dropping it off. Not a happy customer.Doug C.

Although the location had friendly and helpful staff I however absolutely do not agree with Uhaul's new policy of dedicated â€œIn-and-around-townâ€ and â€œOut-of-townâ€ equipment. I have been renting from the company (Uhaul as a whole) for years without ever having an issue with renting whatever equipment I desired and returning the equipment to whatever location I saw fit. This experience was a complete nightmare. I contacted and was sent to multiple locations in various towns looking for equipment to rent but was unable at each location because the equipment on site was reserved for â€œIn-and-around-townâ€ only. It is because of this I am hard pressed to use Uhauls' services ever again. Luckily for the Leavitt Rd. Location they offer other services besides Uhaul so at least I will be able to utilize their services later on. I sincerely hope this review will be taken to real consideration and that the policy will revert back to any equipment wherever you want to take it.KODEY K.

Poor customer service. Sandusky store made reservation and was never informed had to pick up in Amherst. Would never had agreed to this pick up location. No attempts were made to resolve issue.Jennifer R.
My preferred pick up location was in Amherst, Ohio, but I received a few alerts prior saying that my pickup would be in Cleveland, Ohio. This location helped us to get our rental pickup closer to home which was awesome! We picked up our rental on a Sunday in Amherst, but this location was closed, so they made accommodations for someone to be there to give us our keys. I had a big problem with the gas mileage. I rented the box truck for a simple haul of a piece of furniture. I drove 9 miles, I am not exaggerating, I literally had the truck for 9 miles. When I returned the truck I was told it used more than a quarter tank of gas. I pointed out that I only Drove 9 miles so therefore either the beginning guess amount was incorrect or there is something wrong with the truck. I was told I still had to return it full, so I drove to a nearby gas station and put $10 worth of gas in the truck. I feel cheated.mike S.

There was no U-Haul rep at our pick up time to assist . The limo company rep tried, by apparently passwords had been changed so it took about an hour to get in touch with someone who could help get them into the system to be able to get us our contract and then get us on our way.Michael B.

Rental was reserved and all information was pre-filled out on U-Haul.com to reduce wait time at the pickup location. It was explained to me that all info needed to be input on site and my â€œpre-registrationâ€ was not the way it worked. I also had no assistance from pickup location to free the trailer as it was frozen to the ground and covered in snow/ice. I also got zero instruction for proper hookup. If I wasn't already familiar with pulling various sized trailers, this all would have been very difficult for me as an average customer.Matt S.

This was this location's first rental of a trailer since opening few weeks earlier. 2 things almost killed the dealâ€¦ #1 The trailer harness was mounted farther back on the tongue than expected. I didn't have the 24 inches of trailer harness needed to reach the connector. Fortunately I had some wire and electrical tape and was able to make an extension on the spot. I couldn't believe how long the tow vehicle's harness was expected to be. #2 The trailer chains would have been fine on a truck, but on my crossover SUV they dragged almost the entire time while driving. There should be some method to shorten it, to accommodate smaller vehicles.Jeff B.
