WILLIAM GUTIERREZRusty’s was awesome after a horrific breakdown on the road. You need to seriously look at your send-a-technician vs towing policy. The van lost steering and brakes. You don’t need to send a technician when this happens to see if it can be fixed. Obviously, as it turned out - the vehicle couldn’t be repaired on the road and had to be towed for repairs. Someone is going to eventually sue you for your poor practice of leaving people stranded roadside waiting for a technician to determine what everyone knows - driving without brakes and steering is dangerous. I get the roadside assistance person was doing her job. The manager was incompetent in understanding how she could have remedied this quickly and understanding how many people I have now told this horrific U Haul story to. And - she couldn’t even figure out how to answer towing charging when I wanted to leave a dead van on this side of the road instead of waiting for the technician to come. That all said - your only brilliance in this all was Rusty’s (specifically Chris) who actually took us back to a closed shop and rented us a van when he didn’t have to. But he works for Rusty’s. Your roadside assistance people are beyond incompetent.

avinash chandI have used Uhaul quite a few times and this is by far the worst experience ever. I reserved a 24/7 pick up option. Got to the location, tried for 40 minutes to pick up truck. Entered a live chat, he directed me to call the 24/7 share number. He gave me the wrong number. Another 15 minutes wasted. I finally got a good number and had to wait 10 more minutes to speak to someone. She was amazing and fixed the issue promptly. Got the key from the lock box and it was not the correct key for the truck assigned to me. We tried it on the truck next to the assigned one and it worked. Had to call for help AGAIN. Another 15 minutes of hold. The truck that was on my reservation was nice and clean. The truck I had to end up taking was dirty and had stickers on 3 location that said something referring to an accident. (And there was clearly damage in these spots) and the windshield had tape still on it from being replaced I suppose. So after 2 hours I finally got the truck on the road. The process was a nightmare. I will be contacting UHaul to discuss this.

Michael LopezWhenever I need to rent a trailer I make sure I rent from this location. Not only are the people extremely friendly but they always have what I need and the equipment is always well maintained.
Michelle WeaverRusty's is much more concerned about their towing business than providing good U-Haul service. I have used U-Haul probably 15 times over the last 20 years. The pictures they provided on the verification process seemed like stock photos, while the truck they issued to me had large scrapes on the drivers side, a scratch on the passenger side and a totally different grill. I know some people just click through that process and they would be susceptible to paying for damages they did not cause. Also, I was only using the truck for 4-8 hours (ended up being 5.5 hours), and they would not let me park in their lot because of their towing business. Instead, they told me to park in a grocery store parking lot about 1/4 mile away. I won't be going back to that location.
Dan LewisI had to extend my rental due to an emergency, I called to make the arrangement and wasn’t made aware of any extra costs that would be added to my original quote. I was blindsided by my bill. When I tried to return the truck, U-haul’s system to log in to my account sent me no code to access my account. I JUST got the code 2 days later, which is now worthless. The lady who helped me the day of pickup was very nice, so that was a plus. Overall a pretty frustrating situation

Shirley TothRusty's Towing Services was great. I have no complaints. Friendly staff. Trailer was ready to go. However, I live about 45 minutes south along route 29 and booked the rental for the Ruckersville U-Haul location for Friday evening. Late Friday, I received a voicemail (despite checking TEXT as my preferred communication) saying the location did not have the rented trailer. It was too late to find one elsewhere. So, I had to change my Saturday plans and pick the trailer up from Rusty's Saturday morning instead. U-Haul was pretty unapologetic and did not offer me a discount or anything to make up for U-Haul's mistake. Very unprofessional. Again, this had nothing to do with Rusty's and is only a poor reflection on U-Haul corporate.

Donna KuleszaTruck drove like shit. Tires felt square. Picked it up dirty with trash everywhere in the back . Blankets on the floor. I usually use Ryder or hertz and I see it was a mistake using uhaul. Over twice the price with milage.

The mobile pickup feature is confusing and frustrating to say the least. You have to take a training course to be able to use this feature. Thankfully, the gentleman was there willing to help

Justin CoreyI really want to recommend them because of the convenience of location but I cannot rely on the conditions of the truck. This time the cab was very dusty, layered dust and smelled strongly like cigarettes. The inside of the truck floor was almost black with grimy dirt. We use the truck to carry brand new inventory to give to low income families. When they give us a clean truck everything is perfect but it’s not consistent. Otherwise we love the location and the convenience.

Edward ValentineThe after hours/online checkin process is a mess. Plan at least 15-20 minutes (not the 5-10 advertised). Ensure that you fully understand how to change the location services settings for your mobile browser. Your drivers license is NOT all that you need. You must also bring a passport, utility bill, lease, or other proof of residency. Failing this, you must wake up friends and family so that U-Haul can call them to confirm your identity. This location is very convenient, and the management does a good job at making it easy to pick up and return equipment once you've gotten past the arduous online checkin process.

Ben ColemanAlways call to verify the reservation location has your actual rental. If I had not called a day early to verify - I would not have had a rental. It took awhile to locate an available unit and had to pick it up a day early as all were closed Sunday event hough that was the reservation day. When I did pick it up -the personnel at that location were fantastic.
