Mark Sthe rental process via the mobile app was a complete failure. after the call to get live online help. the woman guided me through the process but it was very slow and ultimately after spending 30 min... in the verification process, the app crashed and I had to start over again. pick up ended in a 1.5-hour process with the person at the rental pick-up place...

Maryellen CAWESOME experience! My truck broke down trying to help my brother move. In a panic I called Rooney's and they were closing in like 15 minutes. He was SO kind on the phone and through the whole process was so understanding. He helped me through and even stayed later so I could grab a UHaul! From the phone call to driving away was less then an hour! I would recommend 10/10!!!!!

Enrique RWhen I had initially taken possession of the truck there was a mix-up in terms of insurance. I called uhaul within the time frame for altering my reservation, and was told to go back to the site with a photo of the odometer and gas gauge, and they could amend my reservation. When I got to the site I was greeted by a gentleman who was less than polite. Right off the bat it was obvious he was annoyed by me even entering the office. When I relayed the message I’d received from uhaul, he said he couldn’t do that and without my prompting stated he would call his boss because “I know you won’t believe me about this” (I never said this-I was just confused because I was following Uhaul’s instructions). At one point when talking on the phone to his boss he said, “see what I have to deal with?” I did respond at that point to clarify that I’d been kind to him, and didn’t appreciate the rudeness. He tried to pass it off as if he were talking about uhaul, however in the context of the entire conversation I hesitate to trust this narrative. Like I said- he was annoyed that I’d even walked in the door. I have rented from uhaul many times in the past and never had this kind of problem. I have also never filled out this detailed of a response to a customer service questionnaire, but it was so uncomfortable. I was polite. I did not make demands. I had already disengaged and was actually walking out the door already when he said the bit about what he’s been dealing with.

Peter RDidn’t need to be “mansplained” by the owner when I suggested that I shouldn’t be charged for the additional 20 miles his location would cost me when I had booked the van for Brewster where I live. Rather than simply say sorry I can’t do it he launched into how lucky I was to get “his” Van on a holiday weekend. Like he was the wounded party having to rent his van. Wow.

thomas kThe video that explains what to expect when doing a virtual checkin leaves out a lot of information. At Rooney Motors, there was barely any cell service and between the slowness of that and being unprepared for the questions (i.e. getting other people to vouch for you and call/text them for when the background check thing goes through, checking for damages, etc.) I wasted 30-45 minutes doing the check-in. Had I been prepared, if the video was more informative, I would have been ready for the virtual check in. Also, the emergency brake was very hard to disengage. It took several tries and anxiety thinking I wouldn't be able to disengage it after every time I had to engage it. Overall, it was a positive experience though.

lynn hU Haul application requesting photo of driver’s license did not work after several attempts. Customer service at Rooney Motors was great in resolving this problem.
Douglas EEasy process and pick up. Friendly gentlemen who offered assistance and blankets (were not needed) as an additional free service. No on site parking however drop off after hours was not penalized with additional fees. I would utilize these vehicles again .

WESLEYD JFirst the Van was NOT clean, it had dirt in the cargo area and broken glass all over the floor. Second the van had a Tire Service Light Warning on the entire time I had it. Third, I asked for furniture pads, and was charged for them, but THEY WERE NOT INCLUDED. Forth you charge me $0.99/mile when the 2 vans I rented at another location were $0.59 /mile, and were the MUCH better Ford Vans not these GMC pieces of crap. I'd like a credit for the equipment I didn't get but was charged for!
CHARLES CThe location was outstanding! Uhaul customer service via the phone was absolutely terrible. Between long wait times and not accommodating the fact that I had to drive to a location further away then my original booking with no credit for the extra miles I would incur the experience was horrible. The only saving grace for UHAUL was Mr. Rooney at the location, he listened to my complaints and did everything within his power to accommodate a customer who was clearly not pleased. I could not say the same for the customer service via the phone it was unhelpful and I wasted 1 1/2 hours before I finally was in the truck. I will not recommend UHAUL to anyone moving forward as they made a stressful moving day even more stressful.
James MI waited for 2 hours in front of this place. I was not able to do the 24/7 rental that I ordered. The website was not giving me the option to pick up the rental. I logged in several times. There was no "dashboard " on the website when I logged in. So I was not able to get the keys to the van I reserved. I then called the uhaul customer service, which . I WAS ON HOLD FOR WELL OVER A HALF HOUR. I was as told to log off and then log back in. Then it finally worked. I was then told that it needed to be refreshed on her end. The delay caused me emmbassment, aswell as money. I choose24/7 rental service because I needed topick up items for a certain time and so was stupid.

JADENGLENN HI got charged for three days. I was unable to return the trailer to where I was told to return it because someone had left another trailer in the way. I am furious over this extra charge.

blake mThe was limited to no internet access so it was difficult using the mobile app. The key was not in the correct lock box and I had to work with the mobile app which didn't work. I had to call a local number but there was almost no cell service. The site should invest in a router to provide wifi access if there is no cell service.
