I made a reservation and my truck was not available at the pick up location. I had to change the pick up location last minute and my moving schedule was delayed. I was very upset!

Merri HRhodes storage in Cleveland gets a 5 Star ⭐️ all the way! The staff was kind, courteous and very helpful. Their location is extremely clean and organized. The low score is not for the Storage Center but to UHaul ONLY! U-Haul needs to either work on making the their self-check out and in process with app more efficient or just get rid of it completely. It was by far the worst pickup experience I’ve had with U-Haul. The storage center did what they were supposed to do and even went above and beyond to get us what we needed. Since they were closed, we had to do a self check in. It took 3 calls to 1-800-GoUhaul and over an hour of waiting to get this truck checked out. This put our moving schedule behind, with movers waiting in the driveway of our home. Again the storage unit staff were great, U-Haul systems for checkin via app, horrible.

Cathy RI really don’t know what to say. I booked over a week ahead. I was told upon arriving (after waiting at least 20 minutes on a customer before me that didn’t even know the address where he was moving to) that the truck I was supposed to have was still in possession by someone who was supposed to turn it in 4 hrs beforehand. I was eventually told that I could go down the road and pick up a different one but that I could not drop it off where I booked over a week ago to drop it off. Upon arriving at the new location, the website kept logging me out and having me put it a number/password each time. I finally had to have my friend do it because I’m not tech savvy- though apparently I have to be in order to rent a uhaul…. It took me and one friend less time to load all of my stuff than to get the truck. Getting the truck was by far the most difficult part of the day, not the labor…. And that is sad

Robert MThe return self check in process is difficult and exhausting. Surely there is a better way. I would suggest letting customers know at the time of renting the truck what is expected at checkin. Multiple photos are required, and you aren’t aware of that until you begin the process. We turned the truck off and locked it 3 times not realizing we needed photos of the odometer, reading on the fuel gauge, inside of truck etc. my time is as valuable as yours.

Sara PWell I started it after loading the truck and it wouldn’t shift to any gear( it wouldn’t move) and it had the engine light on. I turn it off and turned it on twice and then it would move. It was a little nerve wrecking. It was stressful in more ways than one...Sluggish truck. Also the dolly wasn’t secured in the truck when I got it so it scared me when I took off and I heard a bang! Like I said, just stressful...

larry scommunication was not clear. The place I rented it from was not open followed direction as explained and could not get into the truck. When I called for help they told me I wasn't in the system. Four hours later I finally got some help. I had to pay two guys for that time. I don't believe I should have paid for the truck with all trouble I had to go through. They told me they were having trouble with communication and the system, this was not my fault.

Bruce FThis location is excellent and the staff is extremely helpful, going the “extra mile” to please their customers. I rented on a non-business day for this location so the rental was handled electronically using the UHaul app, which was frustrating... it repeatedly said that my GPS was showing me in the wrong location, which was incorrect! After several tries it finally worked, but a lot of time was wasted.
Adam CI was totally not expecting the milage costs to stack up as they did. Basically meaning that it's simple to guess the mileage vs actual used miles. I was within 5 cents of not being able to pay it. ?? I think a more in depth picture of the total costs would help for future family's. Perhaps some sort of system that tracks milage costs in real time could stop a heart attack. Lol.
Katherine BI am very satisfied with this location and the rental experience with one exception. I reserved the truck online a couple of weeks before I needed it, with a pickup location near my house. A truck was not available from that location, so my reservation was altered to pickup and return to Rhodes Storage. This was merely an inconvenience until I received the final accounting and learned that I was charged the additional mileage from Rhodes Storage to the site closer to me. I feel I should not have been charged the additional mileage.
