I was overcharged and flat out robbed of every cent i had in my bank account by uhaul...He wouldnt go over the amount i was going to pay when i returned the truck back and told me hed figure out my final bill later and email me a copy of it..But, i never got a copy of the bill but I did get my account debited though and I was charged for $1,500 for 22 days I drove 226 miles put $85 of gas to return it with a full tank and it was suppose to be $39.90 a dayand uhaul charged my account every dime I had in the bank and put me in overdraft status so none of my auto payments were paid and caused me to be charged for 3 overdrafts @$35 a piece- costing me even more money! I was ripped off by uhaul, not worth $1,500 for 22 days, I could have bought a truck for that much ...id never rent anything ever again from uhaul- they are a rip off and a burn totally! They took my entire months income so i cant afford to live or pay my bills for this month- they overcharged me and debited whatever amount they wanted...thats so wrong!!Kori M.

We were told the reservation was changed to a different location 5 minutes prior to the start time, meaning our whole moving schedule was affected. We have to add additional trips and mileage because of this. Truly dissatisfied with Uhaul customer service. We won't be coming back.FABIENNE F.

My only negative comment involves U-Haul Logistics. My order was confirmed for Costa Mesa location and a day before the scheduled pickup, the order was changed from Costa Mesa to Santa Ana resulting in an additional 6 miles of travel. Normally this would not result in a big difference in price, but when the total overall trip approximately 10 miles, this can become a problem issue (in effect a 100% increase in mileage). This speaks of potentially ethical issues through U-Haul's logistics and not the specific location of where the order was to be picked up. Thank you and best regards, C MansourChristopher M.

Booked the reservation for truck online in advance. When I came to pick it up, they did not have the correct size truck available and insisted I hadn't booked the correct size. After about 30 minutes, someone finally acknowledged their mistake. I've been a long time customer of this location and was treated poorly in this last encounter.matthew B.
Very dissatisfied with the service in general not the guy in Santa Ana who was very polite and professional. Get a confirmation for Lake forest pick up for a 20 foot truck to move my in-laws which I had registered online. the day of the pickup I go to Lake Forest and they tell me they oversold and I have to drive all the way to Santa Ana to pick up a truck and I have all my moving friends waiting an extra hour and I am now being charged .39 a mile for all these extra miles due to the incompetence of your company. Wishing there was a rating below "Poor". The man, Bob, working at this location was the most unhelpful individual I"ve ever encountered. He did not know how to process the Uhaul gift cards and was completely unwilling to even try to figure it out. I asked if he could contact UHaul and ask for assistance, to which he replied "No, but you can call them". That started everything off on the wrong foot right there. After spending over an hour with customer service (that's a whole other complaint) the representative stated he would have a field rep contact Bob to walk him through the process, At this point Bob said "Sorry, I"m going to lunch now.". I lost the movers because what should have taken an hour tops took two hours. Additionally I was forced to forego using the gift cards because he refused to wait for the field rep. This was the most unprofesinal person I've dealt with and he should not be an authorized Uhaul location.Kirstin E.

Horrible angry salesperson. Rude and disrespectful on both pickup and drop-off. Charged us for gas we didn't use. Truck had a broken fuel cap. When we pointed it out, he tried to make us feel stupid.Christina B.
The dolly was broken, I cut my fingers. I was charged for the Damm dolly and it didn't work. I explained to the guy but he was lying and saying that all his trucks are equipped and brought by Uhaul and he has no control, when he said that, I knew he was lying and didn't want to help me. The truck was tagged with graffiti, the right review mirror is cracked, the bottom part of the steering wheel is broken, the windows and mirrors were filthy, I had to stop at a gas station to clean the windows. Then he lied about the truck being "filthy", the windows were filthy and the last part is that there was an engine light and the truck had no power going uphill which I had to put the pedal to the metal and waste more gas. I don't understand how Uhual can allow a truck as such represent their name. The worst truck, and the worst experience dealing with over the phone.Marcelo A.

The person is so rude and did not honor the resolution given by a Manager for not getting the parts for the hitch that was supposed to be installed 08/16/21, he still charged us the regular rate. All he cared about was his commission. Not happy!!!!gregory I.
First off , the truck was old. There was graffiti written all over one side off the truck. Secondly, when I started the engine the oil light indicator was on, so I went and told the worker and he told me to disregard that, and it will be serviced soon. I had no confidence. The brakes were spongy and needed repair. The locking device at the rear lid could line up to fit a lock correctly. Lastly, I was charged $25 cleaning fee which was a scam as it was a simple move and created no dirt or trash. It was sweep out, I'm not sure if I was suppose to clean of the graffiti or not? Scam, scam , scam. The only fair thing about it was the price, the pricing was excellent , but the scam is when you return it the lying cleaning fee.Thomas A.

The original pick up point was different and I think the lileage estimate of 67 miles based on that. Bottom line is I ended up being charged for exceeding the miles which really isn't fair. When I picked up he was unable to clarify how 67 miles was calculated.GLENN M.

The guy in the office was definitely the rudest I've ever encountered. When signing papers he threw the paper and pen at me and my sister and worst of all before our turn, he took the prior customers to their uhaul and showed them but when it came to us he literally threw the keys at us and told us go find the only van out there because he only had one van. Financial considerations aside: I STRONGLY urge any individual/couple/family/etc. to explore ANY other options rather than U-Haul for your next move. Fun Fact: even the Chatbot timed out mid-conversation and stopped replying. I am not an alarmist. I have the worst at customer service. I returned the vehicle the same day at 10pm. Now I'm getting over charged for returning my vehicle. I called uhaul to resolve the issue and nothing have happen. Made a reservation online where I was able to reserve and pick up a cargo van after hours by using the UHaul App. I made the reservation on May 5 for pick-up on May 7 @ 5:30 pm. ONE HOUR BEFORE MY SCHEDULED PICK-UP TIME I was called by UHaul and told that I could not pick up the van at 5:30 pm with the app, and I would have to show up in person during business hours to secure the pick-up. This caused an unbelievable amount of stress as that was my move-in day and I had to pick up the keys and finalize the lease contract at the new apartment AND secure the UHaul all within 1 hour. I was lucky the locations were relatively close to each other, so I was barely able to make it all happen with a LOT of help from my family. This location itself was fine, but the UHaul company ruined my night and nearly my entire weekend with their faulty reservation system, misleading claims, and unprofessional timing. BE CAREFUL RESERVING A TRUCK OR A CARGO VAN AFTER HOURS AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS.NICOLAS N.

Rude customer service. He did not wear a mask even though there was a posted sign in the office that it was required. It was my first time renting a Uhaul one-way and when I asked follow up questions the gentleman got impatient and said â€œI need to move on nowâ€. This place has had many bad reviews on google from other customers who also experienced rude service. They did not represent Uhaul well.MYHANH L.

Clean the cab of the truck. This truck had what appeared to be dried soda over most of the surfaces. I cleaned the driver side so I could use it. However especially with the current focus on cleaning touch surfaces, I was surprised to have this issue.Sherrie F.

I didn't start at this location. I went to the Harbor location where they told me they didn't have the vehicle, and that I would need to go to the Fairview location. He also told me I'd be paying $.99/mile, not $1.19. I had to take an Uber to the next location, costing me money since my ride had just left. That wasn't pleasant. Finding out at the Fairview location that there had been no adjustment to my mileage rate was also really annoying. Both Customer service people were nice. I was just annoyed by the whole experience and lack of communication ahead of time. Sure, you emailed, but it was a busy day trying to sort things out to get moving. Happy with service. Not happy with having to waste time and also pay more....Charles Chi L.

when I got the pick up truck she said the tank was full, the gauge was a little below full, I thought it was no big deal, before the returning of vehicle I filled up the tank to above previous point the fuel gauge was, I have a recorded video of this, but now on my bill I see a $10 charge for gas.
