UHAUL has become a horrible company. I have rented equipment for 35 yeas. The new policies where Inhave to give multiple references, had to do an online check in due to COVID, but then had to redo everything when I got there is harassment. Horrible experience with the UHAUL process, this time, from having to make many attempts to even rent the trailer...i used to be so impressed with the efficiency and customer serviceS. No more...

We wanted to rent the truck from Gardner, MA but nothing was available so we were sent half hour away to Fitchburg. We got there, the mechanic had no idea about us booking a rental truck, it turns out the people who rented the truck never returned it, but Uhaul never bothered to call and let us know. We were then sent another 40 minutes away to Barre, MA and had to sit in the rain and wait one hour for a woman to come bring the keys to the truck. Becuae we lost these few hours we were already in a time limit, we couldn't finish the move in time for me to go to work that night so we had to go back and finish the next day and then we charged for an extra day!!! HORRIBLE experience!

I was very dissapointed to find that the smallest van I could rent was the 15' version. It was much bigger and more costly than I needed. On the other hand, I was in a bind and was glad that I could rent something. I unexpectedly had to have a vehicle then and there.

Dear President, Regional Manager and everyone else at the top....Michelle the Manager at the Orange MA location provided the absolute best customer experience and we truly appreciate how she went above and beyond from the beginning of the process all the way through. She must be commended all the way to the top because these days it is hard to come by above average customer service experiences and Michelle is one of those people that will always stand out to us. The service at the location was above and beyond. Billy the owner went out of his way to make sure I got to where I was going. Uhaul made it very difficult for me. Even with the express check in service. They wanted a deposit and also wanted names of three additional people on my contract. Which made no sense. I ordered a 15 ft truck and they sent a 17 foot truck. The owner of the location was a godsend. He put my entire order on his credit card and I paid him cash.. as far as uhaul themselves. They made my move very frustrating. Delaying me almost 6 hours. And charging me more than I was told. I will probably never use their service again!

I always get a call from a dispatcher after making an online reservation to inform me of a forced change, I always have to cancel and go to my local site that I chose. They offer real honest to goodness customer service, never from dispatch.

Place was clean and owner was very friendly. However, he did not deal with Uhaull contracts. I was supposed to get a call about the return, then had to deal with getting charged an extra day. Still have not been credited with my $50 discount that had been promised.

The van was scheduled online and the UHaul app allowed me to pick up at 7:30. The location doesn't open until 8 and the office wasn't open at 8. I found a mechanic working on cars in a shop who had to call someone to get the truck which had been left ready but no one to help me. The workers were very nice but this is a hometown country old time place and they aren't setup with newer customer service features. It's a mixed blessing. Good people, nice to work with but on a different pace than I'm used to.

Woman at Barre location told my husband and I that we would have an extra day to turn in truck, but when we returned it after 2 days and approx 10 hours, we were charged another $40.00. She also stated she would make sure the damage insurance was taken off because we have USAA insurance, and it covers uhaul damage. We declined it, but it showed as a charge. We were sent an email stating $147.05, but in the end, we were charged more than $250.00, which we never authorized, and we also were never given a contract or any paperwork. We didn't sign anything. We never agreed to these charges. We are a military family, and have used uhaul many times with no issues, but this entire experience was terrible. Could not schedule correctly. Holyoke MA scheduling office was difficult to deal with, and they originally scheduled a pick up pretty far away. Just a bad experience, and now we have to try and get our money back from unauthorized charges.

The Barre, MA "outlet" just started up so they didn't have any supplies like boxes or tape. But the truck was very clean and ran well. And UHaul isn't doing them any favors by listing them with the phone number for the Gardner "outlet". But I'm sure as they get going and purchase supplies it will be a fine example of Uhaul rentery.

would recommend if....update your drop box (keys) for after hour drop off. Too much time wasted looking for a spot to place keys.
