On top of a TERRIBLE experience, I dropped this off AT a gas station location so I could fill the tank up to where I was “told” the gas was to start with to avoid being charged a fee. AND I GOT CHARGED $50 FOR GAS. 2 days later. Talk about stealing… i wouldn’t have put gas in if they would attempt fraud.

Person at 28th and pulaski location was terrible attendant. Gave us a truck that needed 4 quarts of oil. Would never recommend this location. Complete garbage and they know you are at their mercy for service.

First the gas was only on half but when I brought it back they say I had to have it on full... secondly the man at the counter didn’t know how to do it .. so he called another man and he keep going up on the prices .. and I still don’t have my deposit back

I initially had a pick-up location at a venue closer to my daughter's apartment and then on the day prior to pick-up I got a notificatio that my pick-up location had been updated to a place further away - Pulaski Mini-mart. We had a pretty awful experience picking up our one-way UHaul from this location. U-Haul customer service leaves a lot to be desired! The UHual on-site representative at this gas station was friendly but told us he was unable to rent us the truck because we were not in his system. We called U-Haul customer service and was on hold for over an hour before anyone answered our call. I explained the situation and the woman asked if she could put me back on hold for 2 minutes because this was not her department. I was on hold for another 15 minutes!!! It took us over 2 1/2 hours from when we arrived to when we finally were given the keys and able to leave with the truck which majorly delayed our move out of state. We signed up for an 9:30am pick up. When we arrived at the location, promptly at 9:30am, We went inside to get the keys to the truck. Omar was a very nice man and was trying to help us but, he told us that we needed a key code to open the key box outside. He could not give us his. We did not sign up for Truck Share so we were not given a key code. In the meantime, Omar came outside and opened up the key box and got the key out to inspect the truck. All the while he had to keep going inside the store to wait on customers because he was the only one working. After he looked over the truck, he locked the key back in the key box and said he could not give us the key without a code. Finally, after being on hold for an hour and 30 minutes, the same customer service lady (Nina) came back on the phone to ask how she could help...In the meantime the gas station attendant gave us his personal cell phone in which he had logged into the -u-Haul site as a provider and had us fill out all of the information to initiate a truck rental "since we were not in his system" He also said "They always do this to me! I am working alone here! I can't leave the register, I have costumers!" Every time a customer walked into the gas station he had to stop and go help the costumer inside. Overwhelmed and with no guidance, we attempted to proceed through the check out process on the U-Hual website on his phone. The interface was extremely difficult to use and navigate through. We were still on the phone with the U-Hual customer service rep and she asked if she could call the store directly. I had to get the phone number from the attendant because the U-Haul representative did not have it. So, while on the phone with the rep on the land line and on the attendants's personal cell phone, we were able to finally get everything entered and processed except the price was more than what we originally contracted for. We finally got the keys and headed on our way 2 and 1/2 hours behind schedule. Ridiculous! I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone!

The clerk refused to give my deposit for the truck back to me. I left an Illinois Tollway transponder in the cab, and I was told by the area manager that because it was rented out by another customer "there is no way of checking it again", as if your organization lacks the means of knowing who rented out the truck, where the truck is, and where it will be going.

I know everyone says this but I am not one to complain and leave bad reviews, ever. In fact, this is my first bad review I have written/posted but boy is it well deserved so buckle up! We had a pretty awful experience picking up our one-way UHaul from this location. To summarize: UHual customer service had us running around in circles, the UHual on-site representative at this gas station was incredibly angry and incompetent: unable to rent the truck out, AND it took us 3 hours from when we arrived to when we finally were given the keys and able to leave with the truck which majorly delayed our move out of state. We signed up for an 8am pick up and were encouraged by Uhual to opt in to use the UHual Truck Share option for "easy" pick up. When we arrived at the location, we initiated the steps to get the key using Truck Share in the UHual app which did not give us a key code but instead instructed us that we had to call customer service. Customer service told us this location wasn't set up to do Truck Share pick up and we had to go inside and speak to the gas station attendant however the customer service representative were "not sure who & how the UHual representative at this station was trained". After entering the gas station to ask about how we should proceed with renting the truck the attendant raised his voice and said "I don't have time to do this, I have costumers I need to service!!! You need to call UHual and they need to figure it out. I can't help you! I haven't even checked the truck yet! They always do this to me! I am working alone here! I can't leave the register, I have costumers!" Unsure on how to proceed we tried calling UHual customer service again, while waiting on a 45 min hold, the gas station attendant came out and put the UHual key in the key box (which is how we were originally were suppose to check out the truck) and then started doing an exterior check on the truck. However, every time a customer walked into the gas station he had to stop and go help the costumer inside. A Uhual customer service representative received our call after we waited on hold and proceeded to tell us that the truck at this location is not a one-way truck and cannot be rented by us for our out of state move, "it must stay in-town as this is an in-town truck". Simultaneously the gas station attendant handed us his phone and asked us to go through the check out procedure on his phone on his behalf while he helped other customers. Overwhelmed and with no guidance, we attempted to proceed through the check out process on the UHual website on his phone. He had logged into his account as a UHual provider (?) and the interface was extremely difficult to use and navigate through (for the record we are both tech savvy adults so it was not confusing due to a lack of understanding electronic platforms). Since we were on the phone with UHual customer service we asked if they could help walk us through the check out process on the gas station attendant's

This was a terrible experience. The location was unknowledgeable about pick-up, and UHaul customer service was unhelpful. The pick-up took over an hour. Save yourself the headache.

I rented my moving van before the riots started. There had been a major criminal incident related to the protests and looting in the vicinity of this UHaul location which made me reluctant to want to return my van there. I couldn’t even find an Uber there to come back! I think under such extreme circumstances where somebody is Being made to put themselves at risk, I think the least U-Haul can do is make an exception. Very very unhappy and disappointed with UHaul.

Take a picture of the fuel tank. When I got in truck it was at 3/4 so when I returned I put the gas back at 3/4 and they charged me saying I didn’t have a full tank of gas. Then they charged me for extra insurance. I told them I didn’t want this but they charged it anyway.

The gas was level was less than what it had been noted to be at. I emailed for a follow up question and never heard a response. Would not recommend. Poor customer service.

I spent close to an hour waiting at this location when I had my reservation confirmed 2 days prior. The gas station attendee initially told me I had to contact the "person " (in charge, I assumed as he was not able to provide any information). I called the number online and was direct back to the gas station attendee. Once I started calling uhaul he then decided to tell me he was contacting the person. He pretty much complained about how busy he was and having responsibility of managing was too much especially since he didn't have access to it. When he finally got ahold of this person, I complained about it and had no apology nor empathy. Needless to say, it was not an easy process; the wait time and customer experience were bad.
