Trailer was great, customer service was horrible. Yelling at us for pulling into the complex the wrong way, very argumentative at the counter, cut us off when we were speaking. She was the prime example of what poor customer service looks like. High unsatisfied.

I bought the hitch at the Uhaul on Virginia Beach Blvd and when I asked the associates there to help me hook it up I was told that the people at my pickup up location on Harpers road will install the hitch for me. When I got to Harpers road the lady there told me that she does not know how to hook it up and that the people on Virginia Beach Blvd where I bought is should have hooked it up for me. Luckily after some waiting a Uhaul associate just happen to came by to pick up a trailer and he helped me hook everything up. The Harper Road associates were very helpful, the Virginia Beach associates were not too helpful on 21 December 2019

Be knowledgeable about the reservation policy and answer the phone when trying to call. I was running late to pick up the U-haul and tried calling multiple times with no answer. When I arrived my reservation had been cancelled. I’m not sure what happened at this point, but when my reservation was re-entered both the pick-up and drop-off destinations were in correct and it was a 2-day rental vice 1-day. Completely different than what I originally booked. I asked if I had to drop it off at the designated location (Maryland, even though I was going to North Carolina) and she said I could do it anywhere. I also asked if I could drop it off early (since my original reservation was 1-day vice 2) and she said I could but I wouldn’t get any type of refund for it.

Tires not properly inflated (low 20 pounds), two different ratings of tires installed (C & D), old blankets left inside. One tire worn down to tread-wear indicators. Management refused to address any of these issues or contact U~Haul for assistance.

No signage on where to drop trailer, dropped off during business hours, no one to assist or check the trailer in. No signage at all that the location was a UHaul location, only because 1 trailer in the front did I know that it was a UHaul location..

I had to install the trailer myself. Put it on the hitch, put the chains on and check all the wiring and lights. I have never had to to that at any Uhaul location.

The online pricing started at $242, then changed to $252 even though only the $5 Insurance was added. Then I go to make my purchase and it’s $277. Apparently this is because of taxes, which is fine, but I’m really tight on money right now and had everything planned down to a T, so this was a problem for me. The website should include taxes.

The woman that checked me in was so angry and just wouldn’t listen politely to what I had to say. In the end she was right but she could have given me the courtesy of listening without barking over me. The equipment was perfectly fine as expected from Uhaul.

We had to dive to another location due to this location did not have any shipping blankets. Also the clerk was very rude to us, She said they never carry blankets at this location and when I asked her to call the other location to make sure they had blankets it took 4 to 5 times me asking her to call before she would.

I don’t know their normal hours of operation, but they were closed and opened up so we could pick up our truck. They were closing for the weekend due to a child graduating high school. Worked out great for me but someone else needing a truck would have to look elsewhere. It looks like they need to train a backup so someone will always be available.

I was supposed to pick my truck up on Fri, 24 May at 8 AM in Chesapeake, I ended up having to go 20 miles further away to get it because the Chesapeake location was "short handed" so they could not go and get it. Then I drive that far to get it and the 12 moving pads I reserved, they did not have them, so I have to drive back to Chesapeake and now get moving pads from them. The WINDSHIELD WIPER on the drivers side was unusable, the last 6 inches of the blade were hanging off, metal and rubber.

Customer service at this location is sorely lacking. The woman working the counter on Sat. May 4, around 2:30 pm was extremely rude and condescending. She acted as if I was bothering her and wasting her time. I was extremely put off by her nasty attitude.I would hope all your employees are not this poorly trained, and have a better attitude.

First--rental agent had absolutely no knowledge of the equipment nor did she seem interested in it. Only seemed to want to rent it and get out of there. Trailer had no tongue jack--extremely heavy and cumbersome to lift tongue and connect coupler to hitch ball as a result. Rental agent had no inclination to help. Second--and most troubling--trailer brake actuator/reservoir had no cap (missing) and was therefore full of water and rusting. No brakes. Really disappointed with this trailer and entire experience. When I returned the trailer, 10 minutes before my appointed time, there was no rental agent there, and doors locked. Finally after waiting 10 minutes, he appeared. Did not want to check trailer over, made no attempt to write any of my concerns down--in fact threw a note pad at me across the counter and told me to write the problems down. Very poor service.

This location is not just a ‘uhaul’ place - calls were uncomfortable and the representative was not understanding. I have never rented a uhaul for a 1 way so while I understand this is an everyday thing for them it is not for me. Wish things were handled better. Will never rent from them again - probably never from u haul either.

the young lady at the site was very nice but her second day there and had not been trained on how to hook up the trailer. She clearly was a team player as she made several phone calls to try and get things right. Computer couldn't connect to Haul data base so unable to accommodate my drop-off site. Unable to print receipt either.Trailer was fine and ready to go.Was told after a phone call there that I could drop the trailer at location of choice but, 4 hours later a text message assigned me to distant site.

I like the Harper location but was mad after going to the 3rd location with having a reservation on my card and they gave my truck away to the person in front of me in line...and that was at the Holland location at Antonio's locksmith location...which made me go to a farther location

I was charged another day for returning 1 hour 30 mins late. Do you guys understand when we are working we might not be looking at the time? This is not acceptable. Plus the person who checked me out was rude and was also cussing over the phone with on other customer and complaining that her computer wasn't working. Thank you though that the truck worked and that the previous person earlier let us use a trolly.

Very poor rental experience. I have rented from U-Haul on multiple occasions and have always been generally satisfied. I had reserved my trailer at a location that I previously rented (VA. Beach Blvd in VA Beach) and was "reassigned" when the reservation from uhaul was confirmed a day before rental. Prime Storage should not be allowed to rent u-haul products without a person on premises who knows how to connect and operate equipment to assure equipment is properly hooked up (trailers) and in good working order. We completed our paperwork with the clerk and she pointed down to the end of the yard and said your trailer is down there. NO OFFER to assist or assure we connected correctly. The trailer was missing the electrical plug extension and I had to go to the other end of the lot to take one from another trailer. Not being experienced with trailers and towing, I did not connect the hitch securely and was fairly sure I had not. I stopped at the Virginia Beach VBlvd store and the manager there assisted me in getting the chains attached correctly and the hitch ball tightened. This could have been a disaster if I had not stopped and gotten assistance from someone who knew what they were doing. My advice..DO NOT RENT from this location. Unfortunately, reading the reviews from this location, this is not the first time this type of poor service is identified......U-HAUL you should notice and react to these multiple concerns over several months!

Maybe 30 to 40 U-haul rentals. First time I had to hitch up by myself. Not even a safety/light check. Trailer had broken door equipment. I opened to inspect, and door jammed open. Took a pry bar and a large screwdriver to get it free. Left with it still jammed open because location didn't have personnel or tools to deal with it. Unable/unwilling to deal with it, and unwilling to change trailers. When I finally got it unjammed, it took two people to lower it to fully closed. But then couldn't latch it down, because the handle was past the detent and would not return past it without a hammer. Experienced the same equipment problem twice more over the weekend. UNSATISFACTORY! When I got back to return it at the specified place and time of 2:30 pm - (I was a few minutes early), there was a sign on the door saying back at 1:45 - and nobody around. At 2:40, I decided to drop the trailer and leave. Then someone came running out saying "Not there, over there" Was sure glad to get away from that location, and hope I hear from U-haul. This was my first bad experience with U-haul, and I hope my last, because I still need to continue business with them, just never again with this terrible location.

Overcharged me for the u-haul. I'm still waiting on them to refund the pending authorization on my card. When I went to rent the uhaul, I had to wait over 30 minutes for a customer service representative. I will never rent with u haul again.

the people and place at the location were extremely helpful. But since someone was there to checkout the truck before I turned it in due to us running behind it makes me question u-hauls maintence and scheduling procedures. We just drove this vehicle 2800 miles and it’s already being rented out without being looked over and was scheduled to be picked up the minute it was turned in. Both pickup and drop off locations and staff were very helpful and friendly. But I now question the state of the vehicles mechanically.

I had a very poor experience.. I reserved a tow dolly at a different location.. I checked in on line hoping to make it faster it did not... once the hooked the dolly up the lights did not work, yet they still asked if I wanted to takena dolly that was not working properly I declined. Then they had to find another dolly which took forever... I was at that location for approximately 1 hr... then I had to drive another 30 min to get the dolly at another location which took them 45min to get all my information again and they where somewhat clueless on how to enter the information until the manager came in.. all in all it was a very long and frustrating experience...
