your online checkin app does not give the specific location for where the truck is parked at this location until much late in the sign in process. We arrived at the specified address- a postal annex at a strip mall- but there was no truck. Drove to the next closest Uhaul to see if it was there. They told us the truck might be in the loading dock area in the back. There was nothing in the instructions about a loading dock. We wasted close to an hour driving around looking for the truck. Give renters better up front directions for non-Uhaul locations.

The ignition switch in the truck was faulty. Also. The guy at the shop called me to ask if I would be on time returning the truck. That was rude as I had committed to returning it at a set time. I was actually hours early anyway. I don't need to be hounded while I'm busy moving.

The truck was dirty on the outside as well as the inside when I rented it. The truck ran well and had a wonderful air conditioner. Overall good experience. Easy to check in and check out without human contact.

We lost a few blankets and the attendant charged us $15 for the lost blankets. It says right on the bag that they are $6 for a lost blanket. I insisted that he call his boss which he finally did and got hold of someone named Celeste who confirmed the lost bags are $6. At this point he had already charged $15 for them and his system wouldn't allow him to change it. He called Celeste back for help changing it and she said “just charge them $15”. Obviously she didn't realize I could hear her. At this point I was furious and told them both that no we would be going with the $6 like it said on the bag and that she had confirmed when called about it. Instead of being bothered to help fix the problem she wanted to be lazy which would cost me more than double. They were not able to fix the initial charge and said the difference would be refunded to me. Worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. Next times I move, which will unfortunately be in a few months, I'm using Penske.

I went to pick up my truck and tried to sign online for contac less pick up app said waiting for approval for 20 min so I asked the guy inside he said he'd be right with me after he helped another customer but he never came out to help finally at 1150 I was approved in the app and got the code for my keys... I took the lock with me because there was no sign saying not too I locked it on the back of the truck assuming that's what I'm suppose to do. I got a call asking if I could return it asap... I was able to return it but not until the next day... I extended my truck for Sunday morning but was able to return it on Saturday evening at 6pm I checked it in on the app but was charged for Sunday and Monday when they checked the truck in at 230pm or so ... I've been waiting for a call back from manger about this billing discrepancy.

Very confusing, the website was sending me to two location.....also I checked in and they told me that I didn't so it took them 30 minutes to check me in. Honestly I think it's the website no location is at fault!

Setting up rental was very easy but when I returned truck with large dolly and 14 blankets I had no help. Since I am Not only 100 pound female but disabled and needed assistance I was shocked that staff watched me struggle and offered no assistance at all . Then I had to wait 30 mins while he was on the phone answering questions. I was so appalled with the lack of assistance that I will NEVER rent from Uhaul again. This was my first bad experience with this company .

We called to receive our $100 deposit back, as we were told it would be back in our account after 24 hours. Later the next day we still did not see the deposit. We called postal annex and the girl was incredibly rude saying the deposit was up to her when we would get it back and she did not have time to getting around to it today, so we would probably see it tomorrow. I said that's unacceptable, we were told otherwise, and that is my $100. She was short and rude and then said sorry that's just how it works. Horrible customer service. Beyond rude.

It took nearly an hour to actually get the vehicle, why? I expected it to take a few minutes. So stupid. On top of which you pay for every mile. Cost me more than a dollar a mile. Next time I'll just use a truck and do a few trips. U-Haul is an absolute rip off and now I realise that we'll be removing our business account. Given my experience and the cost it's madness to be using U-Haul. Adios from a really unsatisfied customer. I won't ever use U-Haul again.

There were too many things happening in this postal Annex. The clerk was alone and helping people Mail packages and assorted other things. Told me to just leave the truck in back. Would inspect later. Signage was not well posted.

The representative at the front desk was condescending. I don't know his name, he was not wearing a name tag. Truck had what looked like dried blood in it and had a horrible smell inside. Really needs to be cleaned

the after hours link would not allow me to complete my after hours drop off on my cell phone and i was charged an additional fee even though i messaged the company with the info needed so i want my money back now , this is ridiculous

UHaul rep William (who was excellent BTW) was the only person on site, and while I was there, up to five customrs were waiting for service. Recommend considering additional person to elevate service quality.

Don't change a customers drop off location without atleast calling and having a conversation. Drop off location was changed on me, I was informed via text.... When I called it was explained to me that a future reservation needed to pick up the truck from this new location.... not sure why I as a customer have to got out of my way to accommodate another customer. This drop off location wasn't ideal because it was farther, we weren't familiar with the area, and the store opened later. This set our whole day back, and I had to reschedule personal appts.

the drop of location was changed the day prior to which made me drop off the truck maybe a gallon of gas under and get a $40 fine. The stores drop off location for the trucks was hard to locate.

12/18/19 I rented a 15' truck from Stax, Holland Road, Menifee for a one-way rental to Oceanside. The staff at Menifee were extremely professional and helpful.  I returned the truck around 4 - 4.30pm to the Oceanside location and was surprised to find a Retail Store. The shop was extremely busy, as they also accept mail/packages for UPS, FedEx and USPS. There was one, older lady behind the counter and no other signs of any other employees. I waited 30 minutes (she managed to serve 2 customers within this time) and the lady told me that "Jessica" wasn't available at the time but that I would received a confirmation email in the morning. I was not happy with leaving the vehicle without having a Uhaul representative check it in and receive verification that I had returned within the allotted time, the vehicle was full of gas, there was no damage and that it had been returned in a clean condition. By 1.30pm today, 12/19/19, I had not received the promised email. I called Uhaul Customer Service and was assisted by an extremely helpful woman, Hollis. She kept me on hold while she called the Postal Annex and spoke to Jessica. Hollis informed me that Jessica had told her that she'd been busy but would get an email to me within the hour, confirming your vehicle had been returned at 4:30pm 12/18/19, the gas tank was full and the vehicle was in good, clean condition.  I received the email below at 2:01pm with the attachment, stating that the vehicle was returned at 8:00am 12/19/19, Fuel tank was full but a $15.00 Cleaning Fee has been charged to my credit card on file. Obviously, I extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from the Postal Annex, 4140 Oceanside Blvd. I would like to request a refund of the $15.00 and strongly suggest that Uhaul considers a different operative to conduct business in this area.

The only problem I have had, is that twice there has been a problem with the gas tank, one that had a hole and put gas to fill it and it was running out on to the ground and then second time, I went to fill it up and the gauge did not register to show the needle at full. My suggestion id to make sure the maintenance of the trucks are being checked and maintained for rental and the safety of the users? Thank You

When returning rental equipment either make sure have a competent employee that knows how to process and/or update your computer system. It took 45 min which was way too long!!!!! Was a bad experience.

Horrible service!! 4 staff members sitting inside and no one will help return truck. Make you use the slow website to check out. Took over 45 mins. Was charged for gas when truck came back with the same as it did when rented. Have images to prove. Total scam! Stay away!!!!

WE FOUND A LARGE DEAD LIZARD IN THE BLANKETS POUCH THAT WAS FIXED TO THE INSIDE WALL OF THE VAN. IT SMELLED FOUL, AND, AS A RESULT, WE COULD NOT USE THE BLANKETS. WE EXPECT THE REFUND FOR THE BLANKETS..

The whole 24/7 pickup and drop off was great, no standing in lines, no waiting and I didn't need to interact with anyone. But For the Truck 24/7 rental U-Haul.com has a video for picking up your truck, there should be another video for checking in the truck. We deposited the keys into the lockbox then realized we needed to take pictures for check-in. Having both videos will help other customers picking up a truck using the 24/7 process.

Truck driver door was bent, so the road noise in my left ear was bad. Steering wheel has a lot of play, needs to be looked at. Headlights dim. Pretty dangerous. Postal Annex counter was awesome - I think Donna was her name. She deserves a raise.

please improve/change the photograph of license access. I had to walk out in the parking lot to connect and then the person helping me had to take photos with her phone after I just took photos with my phone, why??? other than that a great experience. please address the above concern, you would have gotten a poor review if the woman helping me wasn't so nice (didn't get her name, but she was great )

Check in person was inattentive. Never spoke to me during check in. Was carrying on conversation with a man, seemed to be a personal issue. I followed her outside while she checked the truck, Again, no acknowledgement or conversation. Prior to checking the truck she stopped and talked to the man again. I finally said something to her, like what is going on. She stated wrongly that she had told me she was going to check the truck. Not true! I was the person who spoke first and then she told me not to raise my voice. She did say she was sorry, I was extremely frustrated by her attitude, I said "I am the customer". Maybe she was having a bad day, with the guy and the personal issue. That's it.

I returned my equipment on Saturday morning and was charged as if I returned 2 more days later on Monday. I think they do a poor job of record keeping in that instance. I wasn't billed until Monday when I returned it it on Saturday. I feel they had too much going on dealing with the mail and the trucks and they were not focused on the customers enough.

Improve on Tracking miles before and after someone drives off w/ the U-haul. If a customer dispute the miles on the billing, U-haul should be able to provide proper records to show actual miles used during the period rented. Joe the manager appears to lack the skills to handle customer complaints, his customer service skills are less desirable. I will not recommend anyone to rent U-hauls at Postal Annex facilities were they lack the proper personnel to properly manage the U-haul business side and the Postal Annex side...open to human errors w/ only 1 person running the business.
