HORRIBLE. Should be illegal. Booked a 10 ft Uhaul. Arrived to pick up the only Uhaul in the lot. The app was glitching so bad that we had to exit between taking photos of my husband's ID. When it came to confirming the plate, the plate was incorrect, but the app glitched. When I went back in the app. The only option I had was to return the Uhaul (in Salem, MA). I called a rep who noted that it wasn't the right plate and we were all set to dispatch. We drove two hours to pick up this Uhaul, and... it was a 20 foot Uhaul. The app glitched so bad that it never had us do a consent form, take photos of the vehicle, none of that. We were not notified it was a 20 footer, and it was parked in such a way that we didn't notice the dimension. We didn't realize it was a 20 ft Uhaul until after loading it. We had 2 kids under 3 years old, and the whole pickup was a nighmare. Had we known it was a 20 foot Uhaul, we wouldn't have driven 2 hours. Salem, Ma is NOT accomodating to a 20 foot Uhaul. Instead of parking it once we FINALLY got to our new place and going to bed in hopes of unloading in thr morning, we ended up having to unload the Uhaul from 12AM to 3AM. We had to unpack it at that time after loading it, driving 2 hours, with 2 children. You can't park a 20 foot Uhaul in Salem in October. HORRIBLE experience. Absolute torture. It all started with this location. Absolute nightmare. Drove 2 hours to pickup a 20 foot Uhaul when we ordered a 10 footer. No notification, nothing. All call reps tried correcting me when I told them we had a 20 footer. I couldn't even properly drop it off because we had the wrong Uhaul - the ONLY Uhaul that was in that terrible pickup location that claimed it was 10 feet. I will NEVER touch a Uhaul again. We should have been someone compensated for that horrific torture of unloading at those times, not being able to park the Uhaul, and having to calm 2 children at 3am when no call representative could assist in a dropoff at Uhaul. This pickup location caused SO MANY issues and torture.
Gabrielle SIt wasnt a terrible experience. It was easy to get keys and check in and out. However the utility and furniture dollys werent there and I still got charged for them.
Antonio RU-Haul overall was a terrible experience. I was given a hard time with the U-Haul in west Springfield on union street they did not have a truck ready for me even though I had it reserved and had to call customer service. They brought me to another U-Haul in Springfield off Main Street and I was given the wrong truck and I was not even given a discount for the inconvenience. I will not be working with U-Haul again it was an awful experience. The only reason I am giving this location 2 stars is because the owner of the shop was nice.
Sieanna NThey were not prepared at all and it took over an hour to get the keys. The person who was in charge of the UHauls was not there and had to give me instructions over the phone. The UHaul I finally received was covered in dirt in the inside and I had to clean it before putting anything inside.
