Did not agree with the extra mile charge, since I only went from the pick up location to the first address then to the second location and back to the drop off location and was charged for extra miles used

Edward R.Engine light was on in truck; Truck was rough running from start until it warmed up. My pickup location was changed from Chaffee, NY to Performance Towing, Delevan, NY without any notification until 10/13/2022 at 2:45PM. I only discovered this by calling Bryon's U Haul to confirm the truck and was told of the change. I never received a prior phone call or email regarding the location change. I inquired with both Bryon's and Performance as to length of rental and was told 24 hours. When I returned vehicle after use, I requested a receipt, discovering I was charged for 2 days rental and insurance. Please note I did ask for a return time and was told I had it for 24 hours by Performance Towing's owner's wife. When pointing out the discrepancy, I was informed by the dealer, it wasn't his problem, he couldn't do anything about it and I needed to call U-Haul's national number. I called your national number, was on hold for 26 minutes and was then connected with Stephanie Smith, who was respectful and considerate. After explaining the above circumstances, she refunded the additional day charges. Also, Ms. Smith informed me my contract was re-written, without my knowledge, prior to this pick-up. In the future, I will cancel any rentals if I have to pick up at Performance Towing, the location is comparable to a junk yard and the owner is less than cooperative.

Anthony B.I was not thrilled that I tried to reserve a uhaul that was available at a location closer to my home and wanted to use the mobile pickup and the site made it seem that it was an available option for the location I wanted then I get a call from uhaul last minute saying my pickup location was changed to elsewhere due to mobile pick up not being available at my preferred location. My suggestion don't make mobile pickup an option for locations that its not available at. Extremely aggravating!

Brian S.The utility dolly that I requested was not on the truck. As the location was closed on Saturday, there was no one to help. I tried to call the location on Friday to confirm the equipment, and left a voice message, but they never returned my call. The location now insists that the dolly was on the truck, and I am being charged. So, not only did I have to load boxes of books one by one in the rain, I'm now supposed to pay $75 for the experience. There should be a way for U-Haul to contact someone local who can help when things go wrong with after-hours pickups. Someone should have come to help with the missing equipment. And now I've found that, for today's U-Haul, the customer is not always right.

LuAnn T.Dropping off the trailer, the individual told me "put it over there". I out it where he asked, and waited for him to unhook. After 10 minutes, I asked, and he told me "I'm busy, you look able bodied. I don't unhook trailers". As I unhooked it, the trailer rolled forward, leaving a nice scar on the bumper if my truck. Absolutely a joke for a U-haul location. U-haul should consider closing this place down.

David B.Originally booked for Springville location, got a call saying they only had a truck in delevan but they'd cover the extra miles so that was fine. I get to the location and the online reservation method didn't work. The phone number provided for 24 hour assistance kept being ignored and sent to voicemail with no call back. I finally had to call uhaul to get someone to go through the process with me, who then tried to charge me $95 when online I was told $61 plus the insurance so $75 total, and she eventually just did the $75 after an entire ordeal.

Norman L.Catt county had a storm. Salamanca was in state of emergency. I reserved a uhaul from a location that did not have power, and in state of emergency area. I also had no power but needed the uhaul. I called Tonawanda, which a lady found the closest location that had a rental. She even called to make sure they had power. Performance was so nice and thankfully had a uhaul. Thank you!

Had to make it a 2 day move. On line process is misleading and generally a bad exoeroence...other than the machias location staff
