Lower the mileage charges to a reasonable amount!!!!!! I just drove to Raleigh to pick up a few pieces of furniture and it cost me 235.00 only gone about 5 hours…… little ridiculous

sandra nOnce I hooked up the auto carrier and got a thumbs up from the rental manager I thought everything was good to go. I loaded the vehicle only to find out the trailer had no lights. I called the rental manager and he indicated that he was already out of town and had no other auto carrier available. This was within hours of our departure time. I could have called U Haul, but a mechanic that helped lot the car indicated that he felt he could locate the wiring problem. The pig tail connecting the wires coming out the neck of the trailer had already been spliced. In checking this spliced area, there was considerable corrosion and no connection being made between the truck and the trailer. The pig tail was removed, wires cleaned, soldered and shrink wrapped. This brought power to the trailer and we were able to depart on time. I would like to reimburse the mechanic for his efforts and making our long trip practical. Therefore, I'm requesting compensation for what I feel should have been taken care of by the rental manager. Questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at 573-213-9096. Thank you

billie pThe UHaul rep processed my payment, then came outside & told me he’d never hooked up a dolly to an RV & didn’t know how. We tried & couldn’t get it to work. Also realized I needed an adapter for the lights to work & said I’d run to Autozone to get one. He said it wasn’t necessary & he’d pretend he didn’t know I didn’t have one. He called some friends to help & went inside to cut hair in his barber shop. His friends brought me an adapter at my request & hooked up the dolly. Two hours down the interstate, I stopped to do checks & BOTH STRAPS were COMPLETELY OFF the tires. I had been on I-95 where the van could’ve come off & killed someone! A nice trucker helped me for over an hour to get the knots those friends had tied out of the straps & ratchet them back on the tires. They came off again the next day so I called UHaul roadside assistance to come check the equipment or switch it out. They said they don’t provide that service. What?!? So again, a trucker helped me get back on the road again. I checked every 30 min after that & one strap came off one last time. Assistance from a trucker got me the rest of the way home. This was a terrible & potentially dangerous experience with UHaul. I don’t think you want your company represented by someone like the guy who rented that dolly to me. The man at the place I dropped it off in Riverview FL was appalled at those events & said I should definitely report it. The drop off place was helpful & professional. Please advise how I can escalate this to management or a director. I also want to forward to them my email correspondence with UHaul roadside assistance as they failed me as well. Thank you
