The rental was perfect. Clean, they opened on time and Dave was very friendly. He cleaned the snow off the vehicle and warmed it up for me. I definitely recommend

Jonathan PastorRon was EXCELLENT at Dave Ducharmes Auto Sales in Lowell. I explained to him that my original reservation was at Shell in Billerica. The day before my pick up in Billerica, the man from Shell called me to tell me there was no personal car parking at his location and to get dropped off. I said I don’t have a drop off and that I am handicapped and only using the van for 3 hours. He was rude and basically said too bad. There’s parking lot down the street. (Can’t walk that far - handicapped). I called Ron at Dave Ducharmes Auto Sales in Lowell. When I called and explained my situation he said no problem at all. If you are going to rent a U-haul in this area go to Ron. He is professional, courteous, and kind. Recommend him highly.

daniel adinolfiSomehow APP did not work through the return process. I had to chat with "live chat" and noted my return. The final charge was way wrong. Not only double charges were placed but also cleaning fee was added. I cleaned it before return. Too bad.
Yong MaRon is very helpful. He explains everything thoroughly for me to understand. The whole process with Ron was very simple. Ron already parked the cargo van at the front gate for me when I went to pick it up. He goes above and beyond for his customers.

Timothy McDevittBeing asked about the location, as opposed to the UHaul business transaction is a bit unfair as my bigger beef in this experience was not with Ducharmes Auto (they were very friendly, sympathetic, and helpful during my daytime mobile check-in, and allowed us to leave a car on the lot while we used the truck) but with the mobile check-out/check-in process. While I thought I had completed the administrative side the day before in making the reservation, setting up the account, entering drivers license information, etc., I was annoyed that while sitting on site to pick up the vehicle I had to take a selfie and pictures of my license, provide two contacts (for call and verification - my contacts received a text that they would be called, but were not), and walk through other check in tasks before getting the code to pick up the truck. I was expecting something closer to a ZipCar experience, where you walk up to the car with your device, it unlocks, and you drive away. Again, Ducharmes has no control over UHaul's 24/7 mobile process, but because of it, I will not likely use that feature again. As for the location, I don't recommend an after-hours check-in, as the process is just as tedious and its not the best neighborhood. Many thanks to Ducharmes for their side of the transaction.

Lindsey DolanDefinitely Visit Dave Ducharmes for your U Haul! I carefully searched various truck rentals in my area, including U Haul and other companies. I noted several negative comments about poor customer service, and was impressed by the positive reviews about Dave Ducharmes AutoSales -(45623) 190 Lincoln St.Lowell MA. I contacted the manager, Ron, and spoke via phone to discuss the costs, which were more reasonable than other places. He seemed very transparent and friendly, and I decided actually drive down to this location even though others were closer, and met Ron, who showed me a couple of the trucks. I was very impressed by Ron's caring friendly attitude and how easy it was to rent a box truck for my move. I called back a few days later to let Ron know the best day/time for me, and he took the information over the phone and made a reservation. When I picked the truck up, I signed the contract that Ron reviewed with me, and he clearly explained about refilling the fuel tank to the same level once I returned it, which I did and put in a little extra for the next customer. I returned the truck, and as I drive off, I immediately got a call from Ron asking if I had left an air buds case in the front seat. I drove back, and when I saw it, I told him that it was not mine, and he indicated that it must be the air buds case that a previous customer had called about a few weeks earlier, and apparently it was somehow tucked somewhere in the front driver area that Ron was able to locate when he did a search of that area the day I returned his truck. He indicated he would try to contact that customer re the missing air buds. Ron has that special kind of integrity and superb customer service that is sometimes difficult to find these days! If you're looking to rent a truck for your next move, or searching for a used car (Ron also sells used cars at his Lincoln St location), definitely give Ron a call 978-970-1679, because he will take care of you. Alvin MarvahIf the vehicle can be provided with the fuel at a clearly defined level (full, 3/4, 1/2, etc.) it would avoid confusion. I received my vehicle at “slightly over 3/4 tank and attempted to return it at the same level. However it was documented as 3/4 upon return and I was charged for an additional 3 gallons at an extortionist price. As I said, providing the vehicle at exact fuel gauge level would be an improvement in user experience.

Phil VartyUhaul's reservation system and equipment management is unacceptable. Making a reservation that is then changed in both location and delivery time 24 hours before pickup is poor fleet management. All of the moving personnel were great. Logistics suck. I made my reservation online more than 2 weeks in advance and Uhaul could not manage the truck availability or labor at unload site. I would not use Uhaul again.
