Steve VThe equipment we rented, failed literally 5 miles from where we picked it up. The two rear tires blew out. I called Parker Boat Co. to come and get the trailer and they said it was out of their hands as did your representative Brittany. We then waited on the shoulder of a very busy Hwy 95 with trucks passing within feet of us. Ace Towing arrived with two new rims and tires in a Prius, so he couldn’t tow the trailer back where we rented it. He didn’t have an air compressor and said he could only change the faulty tires and rims so we had no idea if the front tires were inflated properly. The tow guy told us that the old rims were the wrong ones for that trailer and that the tires that blew looked old. I asked the tow guy if he would tow this trailer to Phoenix and he said he would, but that would be our decision. Your Brittany and the tow guy were very nice, but your policy of having to go through your Roadside Assistance when we were only 5 miles from where we rented the trailer is ridiculous. It is obvious to me that your neighborhood rental vendors don’t check the equipment properly, such as tire condition and air pressure, which are critical for safety and reliability. It is probably a nice little income stream for them to get their hands on this equipment and rent the hell out of it without the expense of maintenance. We got that distinct impression from the place where we dropped it off. Jimmy, the owner, was almost salivating to get his hands on this trailer stating that he needed more equipment. He was reluctant to give me paper work documenting my return. I got your representative, Katie on my cell phone, on speaker, who talked him through the process and we walked away with a return receipt. Jimmy’s demeanor became very short after this process. I have rented from from your big dealers in the past, including this exact kind of trailer, hauling the exact load and didn’t have a problem. As you can surmise, this experience was very stressful for my wife and I and we would like a full refund on our rental. If you need me to provide any further information, let me know.
