Be more clear about rental process. Fine print assuming it's there) is not good enough. Was unclear on the whole process. Nothing was explained, given random answers when I did ask. Charged for gas and also need to fill up gas tank, needs to be more clear upfront. No clue about the after hours process drop off process until I had already returned the key. Store was closed-Which left me standing in a parking lot confused and on hold for 45 mins with the 800 #. Advertised for $19.95 ended up costing $140 for barely 2 hours of use. I understand you run a business, but many of your practices come off as very deceiving. I'll probably take by business elsewhere next time. Not sure why I'm filling this out, won't change anything. But you asked, so there you have it.

First of all, the door into the store was locked upon my arrival, despite their hours showing they were open. I walked over to the UPS store, inquired about the Uhaul store, the man working the desk stated to go to the Uhaul store. I went back over, waited 10 minutes before being served, had to transfer more money over, returned to the Uhaul store, and the same person working the UPS store came in 10, 15 minutes to serve me. He was so rude and unprofessional, but I got my truck with a quarter tank of gas, and was ready to have it for 14 days. Upon day 14, I was contacted from the store first but didnt answer as I did not recognize the number. I then started receiving texts to my personal number, from an employees personal number, threatening and harrassing me. I still have these texts if anybody would like screen shots. I had intended to keep the truck through that Saturday. The employee then attempted multiple charges around 60.00, 70.00 without my consent, and eventually charged for another day at 19.95 + tax which was fine for the extended day. This employee made me feel singled out, bullied, and scared. I was genuinely fearful to approach this location again, much less face this employee. Im an adult individual with a disability - autism - and I called the customer service line multiple times crying and in hysterics, as said employee had pushed me to, what we autistics call, a meltdown. The next day, I had unintentionally overslept and the texts from the employee started again. I was able to return the truck without facing this...a-hole...for lack of better terms, of an employee. I have spent a LOT of money with this company and never had any issues until this one. I feel that at the very least, a partial refund is due, if not in full, just for this excruciating experience alone. Not to mention, putting air in the tire every two days, which I had no complaints about until now. Being as I did, in fact, return the truck with the same amount of gas, like I always do, but was charged for that and $50.00 in cleaning fees...which Ive never gotten before.

The trucks check engine light came on at some point during my use. It smelled inside the truck. Cig smoke was bad, (I don't smoke). Heat knob was broken. Couldn't adjust the heat on a cold day. I had to switch knob from one place to another and back to get some heat

I'm sorry to report this but the unit really was not acceptable for usage. Although we made the trip safely the unit had very poor tires on it. The tire inflation light remained on. At 50 to 60 MPH it had a terrible shimmy to it. Had I not been on a time schedule I would have rejected the unit. I appreciate the location and don't mean to be too critical.

Ants were in the inside of the cab. The tire maintenance light was also on and it made the steering wheel shake. Truck also was not filled up and I had to fill up all the way so I wouldn't be charged for it.

The staff was awful at this location. I'll never rent another Uhaul here. They were very rude, and not helpful at all. I also posted my experience with this location on Social Mefia, the man at the counter was dirty and very rude. I will likely not use Uhal again and look at other options in the future. It was a terrible experience. I will s ay the staff at the 800 number were superb!

The truck didn't have a ramp. I'm not sure if 10 ft trucks don't have ramps on them normally but if so that should be relayed to the customer especially considering I told the guy I set the rental up with on the phone that I would be moving lots of furniture. I also rented a dolly and it ended up being for absolutely no reason since there was no ramp I had no use for it so I wasted my money on that. Then the driver side door didn't seem to want to shut all the way completely part of the black seal was missing and you could tell the door didn't shut properly all the way and I could hear it whistling the whole way on the interstate and the lock on the back door of the truck kept getting stuck to the point where multiple people would have to help get it open. Then last but certainly not least, the guy on the phone said it would only be like $20 something to rent the truck for a few hours then I get to the place and she tells me it's $60 (then plus the extra I paid to rent the dolly) thats fine whatever I paid it because I think there was a high mileage fee where I would be going to hurricane and back. But he told me I'd be able to return the truck in hurricane because thats where I live but was getting the furniture in Charleston which is why I rented the truck in Charleston. Then when I got to the place to rent it she told me it was a one way truck so I would have to bring it all the way back up to that location when I was done with it. I never would've rented it had I known that because I had to drive all the way back to Charleston after moving all day instead of just dropping the truck off at another uhaul location like I've done any other time. Then to top it all off they charged me over $100 when I get there to return the truck on my app because the store was closed by the time we got back down there so yes I had the truck for way more than 4 hours but thats mainly because we didn't have a ramp and I'm a 25 year old woman so I've got decent muscles but not enough to lift furniture straight from the ground up into a truck. It was awful. But even if I had to pay a fee for it being late there's no way it should've went from $60 to over $100. Everything was clean, the gas was fuller than it had to be, no damage, nothing like that so I'd really like to know it was that much. Also it wouldn't let me finish returning the truck if I didn't pay that amount in full so I couldn't leave until I paid that much, luckily my fiance had his card so we were able to pay it on two different cards but we shouldn't have had to do that. I was fuming by the end of all of this. I never would've rented a uhaul to move some furniture in a day had I known it would be this much of a hassle and cost that much. I'm just overall surprised and disappointed in this experience. I always have a great uhaul experience and have never had anything like this happen before so it was definitely a shock. I have another uhaul appointment set up on Wednesday the 29th of this month and now I'm worried and scared that I will have another terrible experience when I go to get this rental. I'm considering canceling my reservation and going with another truck company if nothing is done about this. I'm sorry to be so impolite it's as I stated previously this whole situation has just upset and disappointed me about uhaul and changed my whole perception of it now. I hope someone at least reaches out and explains why I was charged so much and apologizes about troubles with the truck. Thank you. I hope you have a better day than I am having.

I recommend getting the liability insurance for peace-of-mind. Although I am a driver with years of accident free experience I worry about other drivers. Especially in shopping mall parking lots where you might park and come out to find someone has “dinged” your vehicle and are long gone. Don't penny-pinch. Get the optional insurance or ask your insurance co/agent if you're covered through them or can add the coverage for less.

I have zero complaints about the location and local store. The staff were quick, pleasant, and helpful. The truck was ready and clean when I reserved it. However, U-Haul apparently leaves a dolly and blankets in every truck now, secured to the wall and will charge you if you break the seal. I did not rent the equipment because I already had it. This equipment is very much in the way of packing the truck. I made an extra trip (and paid the mileage) just because I couldn't tell the price of breaking the seal and whether that was cheaper. Nonetheless, it shouldn't be in there if I didn't want to rent it.

Rude and disrespectful staff including the manager. They told me there is no truck and that too in a very rude way. Only once I threatened to call the central number few times the employee realized another truck was returned and was available. Highly inefficient and slow checkout process .

The truck itself was fine, but the process of getting the truck was a nightmare. Our scheduled pick-up time was 9:00 pm and I think we ended up finally getting the truck around 9:40 pm. We waited on the phone and on the chat support forever for them to get us approved. Sometimes I would try to check in and make sure we had not been forgotten about and no one would answer until 10 minutes later. I honestly don't think I'll ever go through Uhaul again because of how long it took and how complicated the process was made.

This location was late in opening on the morning of pickup. The staff was not friendly. The representative at this location also told us that we did not have to select a drop off location before we picked up the truck, and that we would be able to drop off the truck at any location we wanted to. This turned out not to be true and caused significant issues with getting the truck dropped off. Furthermore, the mobile self-return website was not working. We attempted to contact the customer service number. Waited on hold for over one hour. Finally hung up and tried online live chat, who then informed me that I would need to call the regional management office, which did not open until the next day at 9am. Overall, we spent over 2 hours trying to get the truck returned, and ended up finally having the drop off location changed to an in-person uhaul location, since the mobile drop off did not work, and the uhaul representative who rented the truck to us would not allow us to specify an acceptable drop off location ahead of time.

I wouldn't recommend this business location to my worst enemy. The "gentleman" who owns the place is the rudest and a RACIST. If I didn't have the time frame restrain on moving, I wouldn't give him my business at all. His attitude was like " you want the UHaul or not". Go somewhere else an get you one. I was afraid for my safety. My helpers and I were just stunned by his behavior. He was upset we booked on line. We hurried out of there as soon as we could. His attitude was," you have a problem , here's the number to complain I don't care"

The outside of the truck was caked with dried mud. The box of the truck was dirty and not swept. The cab of the truck had something spilled and dried in the floor board along with melted chocolate. Also every time I closed the driver door the door trim would fall off and I would have to re-attach it. The gear shifter was loose and could be moved an inch and a half up and down without going out of gear. Over all time to be scrapped

I rented a van. The van had not been sweep out after the last rental. there was trash in the side panel walls. I feel the seats and the cab had not been wiped down due to prevent covid spreading. There was a location closed to where we needed to use the van but the Montgomery, WV location is not allowed to have vans for pickup truck rental. Could these rentals be brought into this location as needed?

My moving time was very tight and I expected that my last-minute effort to rent a larger moving truck wishful thinking. I was delighted to not only get the larger truck, but it looked brand new. The service at this sight was great as well; fast and no lines.

The gas was recorded on our paperwork as being 3/4 full. In reality it was only 1/4 full. We took pictures of the gas gauge and mileage and when we returned the truck in Reedy they didn't charge us extra.
