As soon as I arrived the location the personnel was rude! since it's my first time to do mobile reservation not that I'm familiar with, since I'm used to do counter reservation in the past. He even told me “I'm not supposed to help you since you did online reservation. You should know what you are doing and just follow the steps.” Just like that telling me straight up to my face that I'm an idiot or something. That personnel should've not working on a customer service type of job.

Went to store and employee who did contract said theres nothing he can do it was computer generated and will have to contact customer services...SUch a inconvenience and time and energy I dont have please get this REFUND DONE..THANKS NILSA DIAZ

Not sure what the negative reviews were about... this was the best U-haul experience I've ever had. Quick, easy pick up and drop off. Clean van. The manager of the u-haul location was awesome to talk to and very professional. I will definitely use again if needed.

The Park Merced location is staffed by extremely nice people. It is also clean and well organized.

Jaime worked in the store. I returned the car with a lot of dog hair, not knowing that I had to return the truck as I rented it. Rather than charging me the cleaning fee, Jaime allowed me to take the truck, repair the cleaning and avoid the penalty. He did a GREAT Job.

The checkout process is convoluted. Notifications were turned on, but there was no instructions to use a specific browser which made the process very time consuming.

The truck has cans and wrappers in the flat bed. The location closed before the posted time, which I knew ahead of time, but the UHAUL app would not check me in. The location locator wasn't working. I waited 20+ min for customer service and they were not able to close out the transaction either. As far as I know, I am still not checked in.

Trucks were not clean. There was dirt all over the cabin and on the carpet. The employee did not do a check up on the truck before releasing it to me because there were a bunch of used equipment from the person who borrowed it previously left behind in the truck. Also the check out process was awfully bad if you have to use the website to check out. It took almost 30 minutes because when ever I tried taking a picture of where I parked or the odometer, the web application would not allow me to continue even though I had taken the picture. After about 50 tries it finally allowed me to continue so that I can finish checking out. Really need to fix the web app. Awful experience

The phone number for this location would go directly to a voice mailbox that was full and the the location doesn't have any instructions on where to drop off the truck. The parking lot is very small and I had a 10 foot truck. Upon entering the retail location there was no one in the location. I walked to the back and saw stairs going down and had to say, "Hello, is someone here?" Finally a gentleman came up who was rude asking me if I had begun the return process on the website, and then finished telling me the steps with, "This is how we do it in San Francisco." He was not friendly, or helpful, and I was grateful to return the truck and not have to deal with him again. I will never use this location again. He shouldn't work in customer service.

The mobile pick up experience was absolutely terrible. After my phone wouldnt confirm my pick up location (not that I even wanted to share my location data), I tried a second phone and it had a different problem. I went inside and the clerk also had issues confirming my pickup. His service, however, was top notch and honestly that's the only reason I'd come back. Mobile pick up is absolutely terrible.

For off hour returns they should go over that well. i almost returned my key without taking photos and would not have been able to take the return photos. Otherwise, the experience was a good one

Overall experience was horrendous. I had my truck rented out from 9am-1pm Once I got through all the thousand steps I had to get through it directed me to pick up the keys from the uhaul guy. I didn't even have the keys in my hand and my account got changed. Like how can you charge for a service and not execute your part?? The guy didn't show up till 940ish/9:50am. There was people who were waiting for him since like 8am. When he showed up he acted like he didn't give two cents. The gentleman I'm front of me asked him about it and the uhaul employee blatantly told him he didn't care. The employee's name was Jaime. I will never forget. How can someone forget name like “Jaime” after showing no manners or professionalism. He could of apologized for the inconvenience but he straight up told everyone he had an emergency and he didn't care. I asked Jaime about what do I need to do when I'm done? He said just drop off the keys. That was not the case. After i got done I went through all the steps to take pictures of speedometer, fuel, etc. after that you have to finish up your part on the website/app. Jaime failed to mention this. All he said was to drop off the keys. I had to figure it all out. The experience outside of uhaul employees was terrible too.I got sent one email and a no instructions were sent to me as to what to do when I get there. What is someone supposed to do that has never done this before? Luckily I figured it out but how can someone walk into this blind and expect to get things done in timely matter. Horrible experience Horrible customer service. Would like my money back for the terrible experience. 0 stars out of 5

When I rented the moving van, the back was full with blankets and loose hardware. When I returned the van an hour later, during business hours, I was told I had to return the vehicle using the online feature. When I asked for clarity, the associate Jaime (I believe?) told me that "it wasn't his job to help me. It's on uhaul.com." I pulled up the webpage on my phone and couldn't find the rental return page, and asked him again where I could find the page to return the van. He said the instructions are on the door (which I checked and did not provide any more details on how to access the webpage) and he said he will not help me unless I pay $20 fee. He did not give me any reason why he couldn't help me check back in the moving van. It was during normal business hours at 1:30PM on Sunday, January 17th. I had to wait for him to get off his personal phone in order to even talk to him. There was no one else in the store, other than what I assume to be his friend or coworker who was there an hour or two earlier when I checked the vehicle out, who stood directly behind me within 6 feet. He was very angry that I couldn't figure out how to use the online check-in website. I will not be returning to this store. I have called customer care and let them know. The U-Haul website was unable to process that I had returned the vehicle, Saturday evening. I had to return earlier in the day to be told that the equipment that was supposed to be included, wasn't actually available. And then some of it was. My third trip to the facility to return the truck nine hours later resulted in being redirected to a login page multiple times, taking photos and uploading them, entering mileage, taking and uploading other photos, and then getting kicked back to the beginning of the process. Finally, a half hour later, I locked the vehicle and had to leave, as I was due at work shortly. I contacted UHaul,, and was told that my comments were noted. The facility in question DOES NOT RECEIVE PHONE CALLS, EVER. So, Sunday I returned for the fourth time to resolve the issue, and was told that they'd get it unlocked Monday morning, today, and that I would not be charged for the unlock. I had offered to call AAA for the unlock, which would be no cost to me, but was told that wasn't necessary. This morning I received a call from a representative who told me that they could dispatch a mechanic and that I would have to be there to pay for the service. This is not acceptable to me. So, I go out there FOR THE FIFTH TIME this morning to call AAA after all, and was told that he'd get it unlocked, and would close out my contract, pending final mileage. I see that I'm being charged almost five times the daily rate of $19.99, plus I imagine I'll have to pay for the additional mileage required to go back to the facility to get the equipment that was supposed to be supplied in the first place. I'm a little upset, as you may be able to tell. I find your business practices to be bordering on outright fraud. Please tell me what we can do to make this right, because right now, it's all kinds of wrong.

This was my first rental on a Uhaul. I was worried during the holidays that Uhaul locations would be closed. Also certain locations that were open, I was worried whether the size truck of truck would be available. The only problem I had was when I had a question, I called and the voicemail was some man, but it sounded more like a personal line rather than stating, this is 'so & so from Uhaul'. I was not sure if I was calling the right number. I decided to go online and found my answers there. Anyhow, everything went well, from reservations to pickup and return; easy process with some side help from friends/family. Thank you Uhaul.

This location in Simi Valley was good. But the location at Hazeltine in Sherman Oaks was horrible. The service at that location was horrendous, the employee helping the customer was useless. I came for my scheduled time and the employee said that my reservation was moved to Simi Valley. 30 miles from my location. Total of 60 miles I had to drive. The employee did not help in any way make my situation easier. What if I didn't have a car? Would I have to take Uber on my dime for 30 miles? Totally unacceptable.

I have never rented with uhaul before so i had a few questions The manager Jamie was very rude and he act like he didnt want to explain to me anything. every time i would ask him he would sigh and tell me that i am asking too many questions and that i am slow! I had talked to corporate on the phone about using a major credit card american express and they said that i can decide how many miles i was going to approx drive. I knew i was only going to use maybe 15 miles but Jamie kept saying that corporate does not know and that i have to mandatory put on hold 40 miles on the credit card regardless. Note i was using a Major CC AMERICAN EXP so it should have not been a problem. after him telling me i have to put on hold for 40 miles worth of charges he then tells me that an email is going to get sent to me to go over the damages. the email he sent me says it was an error and i couldnt open the forum to fill out, after him sending me about three that didnt work he says well idk what to tell you your phone sucks! in disbelief i asked him to go over the damage with me since nobody was in the store and the car was just parked behind the store, He sighs again and would not get up and tells me to just take photos of the damages, the experience and his professionalism was not acceptable! When we went to go return the car the first thing he says was that we didnt park in the rite spot and that i couldnt follow directions and that i was a problem to him, i cant believe the way he was talking to me. By far the worst customer service i have ever experienced! I have personally managed several branches for enterprise rent a car and worked as a branch manager at the airport and i know how the operation works. Jamie then grabs my keys and says that "now i got to go get the gas and miles since you dont know what your doing" when i already had it on my phone ready to read it off to him, he already assumed that i didnt have that information and acted as if i was stupid! He then says ill do it for you so you can just leave dont worry! I refused to leave until he closed out my rental. After he sighs again he gets up finally and gets the gas and mileage and when he was walking back he was saying something under his breath shaking his head towards me. Overall experience was a total joke! He does not explain anything to a customer, is very rude and lies about prices, and waivers and how the company is ran. As a manager for enterprise i could tell you that this manager Jamie is unethical and can cause major damage to your guys reputation. I highly suggest that Jamie should not treat customers like garbage! What a shame !

The person was serving us is not polite and was rude. He told me that the store closes at 3pm, I agreed. After we used the uhaul, I went online to return the uhaul while standing outside the store. My brother began to opening the door I told my brother “they are closed at 3”. But my brother said “the sign says they are closed at 4pm”. I warned my brother not to bother the guy because he was rude already when I came to the get the uhaul. They Guy came out looks mad, and being rude to us again. I told the guy “My brother didn't know that you are closed at 3pm, because the signs says 4pm”. They should have change the time out side the store. So people doesn't get confused. We don't mind. But his service to us was poor. This is 4th time we rented uhaul but this is first time we are served poorly. I dont want to recommend to any family and friends to go there.

I choose to use the Mobile Contactless pickup and it was a terrible experience. I wish on the website it will clearly list the steps involved at the time of pick up. Or maybe some of the validation steps should be done ahead of time. Definitely will not use this method to pick up a rental again especially it is during normal business hour where we get help from a live person.

Hello, I'm writing to complain about my Uhaul experience this past weekend. I originally made a reservation on 11/15. I was told to call on 11/21 to make sure my rental was confirmed. When I called, the representative said there were no trucks available and claimed they called an left message on 11/18. However, I had no missed calls or voice messages from any uhaul representatives. I was able to find a uhaul for 1.59/mile at another location. When I arrived, the person checking me in said that my reservation was canceled because I was supposed to arrive at 8am. However, the confirmation email I received said that I was guaranteed a truck and to arrive at 9am. The representative ultimately completed my rental, but only after I complained and showed them my email. After returning my truck on time, I got an email saying I was charged $2 instead of the originally quoted $1.59/mile. Not only was I overcharged, but customer service representatives were dishonest and I feel taken advantage of. Moving is already stressful in itself. My experience with Uhaul was beyond frustrating and I am hesitant to book again. Sincerely, Patrick Custado

I scheduled my uhaul pickup for 7am and used the app so that i wouldn't need to interact with anyone, however, when i got to the UHaul location, the truck did not have any of the dolleys i had ordered so i had to wait for an hour until the store opened just to get the dolleys.

The clerk was very standoffish and seemed as though he'd rather be anywhere else but the job that pays for his bills. I had locked the keys in the truck upon return because I had misread the instructions. That part is on me. But when I asked him for help and if the insurance I paid for would cover the locksmith, he offered very little help or even interest, and told me that my insurance wouldn't cover it and I would have to pay 80 for a local locksmith. We called the uhaul customer service and he was friendly and was able to connect us with a locksmith that the insurance DID cover. In addition to that, the van upon pick up had trash under the seats and mud tracked onto the floors. The tank had about a quarter tank left, which would have been a problem for the next person if they had been traveling a longer distance and was in a time constraint to pick up something as I was. With only a quarter tank, I should have been notified that I would have to take time to fill up the tank before use so I could have planned accordingly. Overall, the service at this location was terrible, and I would not come here again unless I needed the most basic service that required minimal interaction with that clerk.

Your system of online reservations sucks! If customers already at the store & ready to rent, why he/she can't entertain the business. Instead asking the customer to go to their phone & do it themselves. Then to follow all the guidelines, taking pictures, mileage, etc.. Why bother putting someone in the store if they can't assist themselves?

This was the worst experience I've ever had with any company. After going to our van rental which we based on the DAILY rate we paid for from the site we were told we only had the van from 11-5 that day "because other people needed it". HELLO WE NEEDED IT THAT's WHY WE BOOKED IT FOR THE DAY. then the movers we got through Uhaul were 2 hours late and the storage facility on Bayshore DIDN'T HAVE OUR RESERVATION which we booked 2 months in advance. Honestly trash.

1) clearly instruct renters they must check in condition online before driving away. 2) truck had many scratches and even graffitti on it before renting use. We photographed everything. 3) Return should be available in-person with agent especially during business hours. Should not require renter to do check-in/return by ourself.

Costumer service in this location was terrible. It was my first time renting a truck with U-haul and the guy working there did not give me any instructions, he just gave me keys and referred me to check online to figure out everything. I was surprised that he did not even gave me a copy of the contract. In addition, they overcharged me because the number of miles were miscalculated. I'm not sure if I will use U-haul again but if I do I will never come back to this location.

I was charged a cleaning fee at the conclusion of my rental. That would make sense to me if the car I rented was clean when I checked in. I reported the issue and was charged. I would understand if every reservation was charged a cleaning fee but then the car would have to be clean when you checked in. I was charged for dollys I intended to rent that I did not get put in the back of my rental. When I asked the gentleman at the counter if they were in the back, since I didn't see them, he said yes. I trusted him so I drove to my old rental to load the van and there were no dollies. I wanted to discuss this fact upon return of the van, but when I went in to return my keys, there was no one in the place and the door was locked despite it being 11AM. I waited 10 minutes for someone to come help and no one did. Awful service, but the van was clean
