I understand the old uhaul person had quit the week before BUT they should have been more prepared with training on how to check in vehicles and check out. We had to wait 45 min while they figured it out. Issue 2 the truck was parked in a mud pit. Thankfully I was able to get the truck out but walking through mud up to your ankles is not pleasant.

Lock was difficult to open and close. Truck was parked on a patch of ice on a slope so backing up was difficult.

I ordered my u haul to be picked up in Pipestone MN . I did not appreciate being turned to Slayton with flooded out trailers and have to drive way out of my way into another state to get the trailer I ordered for Pipestone and then being charged for a dollie that I did not receive in Garretson. The service in Garretson was nice and simple. They were very polite and easy to work with. If you are near them, I would recommend them.

Had to drive 60 miles round trip to alternate location to pick up a trailer as mine wasn't available at location I had reserved. Trailer at alternate location was out in the weeds, filled with leaves and branches. Employee had to take safety chain off a different trailer and then light wires from 2 different trailers before he realized there was a short in they system. Had to repair that. While he as doing that I asked if he had a broom so I could sweep out the trailer. He finally got the wiring repaired so the lights could work. I asked if the tires were properly inflated and he said they just push the trailers out in the field so he had no idea. I had to check the tires and fill them up. It didn't give me a lot of confidence in how well the trailer was maintained. I was also told one location to drop off the trailer but than received an email giving me a different location. This experience made me to not want to rent a trailer for future Sturgis Rally trips in the future and prompted me to buy a pickup loading ramp at the Sturgis Rally for my return trip and drop the U-Haul trailer off at Rapid City.

Pick up went well at palisades. BUT windshield was filthy, they didn’t have much time to clean it as we had to drive there from Sioux Falls and take it right away. We were scheduled to get a 20’ truck at 8 am in Sioux Falls. NO TRUCK! Three people I know of that morning didn’t get what they reserved. Going to palisades put us three hours behind and left us with only two people to help load. My reservation was made a week in advance, I received an email the night before at 7:50pm no call even though Fargo said they called and left a message. No they didn’t. U-Haul failed! They desk people said at three locations this happens often. U-Haul failed big time!

Trailer was in a difficult position to pick up on their lot Personnel however very helpful in assisting in office and getting the trailer on my vehicle.
