I was misinformed by the Uhaul representative as the truck did not have the equipment on it for me to unload appliances alone. I rented an appliance dolly but the truck had no loading ramp as told. I had to scramble for unloading assistance since there was no loading ramp on the truck. I was quoted and paid for the rental upon pick up with an over estimate of the mileage. Due to the lack of a ramp, I was going to be late in returning the truck and called to let the site know. The CSR told me no problem, take your time. I returned the truck and the rental location was a convenience store/gas station. I tried to put gas in the truck at 3 different pumps before the CSR came out to tell me they had no fuel in their tanks. I drove the truck 9 .2 miles total on the rental and I was going to put 2 gallons of fuel in to cover my miles at a cost of $2.95/gallon. The CSR added another $25 to my credit card stating it was for the gas I used in the truck plus taxes. . I informed him I would drive the truck 2 miles away and get gas at a total of less than $6 instead of paying the $20 when I tried to put gas in it at their location when the gas gauge was still in the same spot as when I picked up the truck. He then proceeded to tell me the $20 was for the appliance dolly rental of which I had already paid $10 when I picked up the truck. The third reason I was told it was a late charge as I did not return the truck on time. The CSR never mentioned this when I spoke with him by phone about being 1-2 hours late on my return. The daily rental rate was $19.95/day and I had the truck for less than 6 hours total. I was charged a total almost $80 for what should have been a $40 rental and then told by the CSR to call UHaul to dispute my charges. This was my 4th UHaul rental in 7 months and it will probably be my last. Uhaul complaint line stated various reasons for overcharging by this location and deferred me to higher up resolution with management and I have yet to hear from anyone. Shame on you UHaul for poor customer service and support. I will take my business elsewhere after the multiple lies and deception of this locations 2 CSRs and poor communication from your company. Step up your game and be truthful to your customers instead of trying to lie, cheat snd steal to increase your profits.
Teri MMake sure Items requested & ordered are in the truck & ready for use. Dozen cover blankets were ordered & paid for, but not received. Would like a refund on these.
DOUGLAS MThe trailer bed wasn't clean. It had construction debris in it including screws and nails. I had to sweep it out.
SUE CThe truck was dirty in both the cab and back. I had to sweep it out and take out the trash in the cab.
Sue CThe contract drop off location in Altavista Va was closed. The nearest U-Haul in Altavista Va less than a mile would not accept the trailer drop off. The owner called U-Haul and lied his lot was full. He knowingly advised me to return to the contract location that was vacant and permanently closed. U-Haul changed my drop off to Rocky Mount Va that is 55 miles away. The drop off amounted to 2 hours of unnecessary driving. I would request a 50% discount. The drop off at Rocky Mount Ava was satisfactory.
BRIAN JThe attendant said he only took keys and did not accept my noting that the drivers door did not close easily. The truck was great, clean, comfortable but the drivers door needed to be slammed shut.
Charles CPerson working the counter was pleasant enough, but evidently, he couldn't check me in. That must have been done later after I left.
JOSEPH CWas ZERO help with the drop-off. I had to contact U-Haul customer service to complete the drop-off. I took more than an hour to complete the drop-off. Just terrible service from the location provider. Maggie with U-Haul customer service was excellent. She saved the day

CHRISTOPHER SThis site should be pulled from uhaul system. I tried to switch return spot, but other location on Franklin rd. closed on monday. She did offer us to return there off hours, but I wasnt sure it would be accepted as on time by uhaul. Doe Run site is on a hill with tight area to be able to back trailer and release. We placed random piece of wood under trailer wheels so it wouldn't roll into owners building. Owner was on his phone and did not offer any help or even direction when returning trailer. Owner speaks minimal english. Uhaul has sent me to this location before when I did not have my husbands help. I simply had to take to alternate drop point, which is no longer representing uhaul.
Lisa SThis location of drop off was fine. My issues are with Uhaul as a company and their integrity to honor contracts. I was offered to use the "Load Share" program which involved going 1 hour out of my way on my path to pick up a trailer in Wilmington NC and deliver to Durham NC. My offer was $350 credit on my bill. I honored this agreement by showing up to pick up the trailer in Wilmington, where I spent an hour of my time while Uhaul tried to find it. Ultimately they determined it was lost and not at the site, and then they proceeded to say they would not pay me the credit even though it was completely their issue. I argued and escalated many times, and finally at least got $250, but turns out all it cost for them to never have a customer again, as well as any friends this customer has, is $100.....
Mike CThis convenience store has an English-speaking owner, but the staff are native Arabic speakers with little English. Doing business here is nigh to impossible (renting a truck with advanced paperwork completed took 2 1/2 hours). Aat that, I'm almost certain I was overcharged, but wasting more time was a nonstarter for me. I will never use this facility again!

James LRental truck was not at the original location that I booked 3 weeks prior. I had to travel 30 miles to get this rental. No one from U-Haul bothered to contact me regarding unavailability of this truck at the original location agreed upon when booked

Larry WWhen I got there I was assigned a trailer but it wasn't there. No big deal they got me another one. The trailer I ended up with still had trash inside, messed up fender and had a short in the wiring that was causing fuses to blow on my truck. I found that the left rear brake light one of the wires had a cut and was grounding out. Had to fix that issue on the side of the highway so I could have trailer lights. I returned the trailer the same night after they closed. Next day I called a few times to let them know it was returned and no one would answer the phone.

Thomas BFairly difficult to communicate with UHaul service representative/convenience store clerk. Vaping in side store and in front of me. UHaul service disrupted by lone clerk trying to process my rental while handling the morning flow of store customers. I felt like I was being pushed out rather than making sure trailer and customer were both prepared for a safe travel.
Charles SI cleaned out the truck and filled it up there, turned In the key on Monday the 30th of October. They acted like I was bothering them and never gave me a receipt or let me know it was OK. Then on Thursday the 2nd of November I received an email that I was billed for an extra day of use. They are very unprofessional and I feel like I'm trying to be ripped off.

Tony SThis was the fastest and friendliest U-Haul experience I've ever encountered. Both the checkout and checkin were seamless and very fast. I hope I never have to move again but if I do I will definitely use this location!.
Charlotte SI was way overcharged for my short trip. I literally had a 10 foot truck for about 2 hours or so and Traveled about 55 miles. I was charged for over 72 miles. The whole experience has been poor though. I will NOT use U-HAUL anytime in the foreseeable future.

Gregg MWhen I arrived to pick this truck up, I was initially told that the truck wasnt available, then after the attendant was informed that the keys to the truck were stored under the drivers seat, I was able to pick the truck up. The interior was dirty and had trash in it, the floors were covered in a sticky wet substance like a drink had been spilled, and the process to discover this took nearly 40 minutes. I will never pick up from this location again.

Sarah PBe honest and upfront with cost. Also don't tell me it's ok to pick up the uhaul an hour early and charge for an entire day like I cost you extra money. Don't assume I want insurance, and If it's required, you not only should say it, it's unacceptable you didn't. Pure 100% theft the back hadn't been swept, had debris in it still and no blankets. Also only had a half tank of fuel when I picked it up so I left it the way I found it. Hope you didn't steal that charge too. I'd carry my belongings by hand for miles before handing you anything else. Was told $80. Local move. $307 charge

Clinton SWas promised $62.95 rental online and also via a phone call from a uhaul representative. Drove over an hour to get to this location, and when I got there they charged me over $180 with no explanation or warning!

Karen PNot the locations fault at all. But uhaul made me drive 20+ miles to pick up the truck. On the phone they assured me they would have all the equipment that I reserved. When I arrived they said they had no furniture dolly utility dolly's or furniture pads. She eventually found a utility dolly. This was a uhaul fault and not the location but needs to be brought to attention.
