The vehicle was low on gas (not full) 4/5ths maybe. The interior of the truck was appalling - possibly used to move farm animals, or a hit deer? After retraining the vehicle using the automated system the Uhaul of New Haven harassed me for roughly 2 days looking for the "missing truck". While charging me a cleaning fee of $50 - absolutely unheard of. I don't have the time or desire to argue with you customer service team (which leaves much to be desired) about this issue. Don't advertise a service if you're are incapable of providing it at a reasonable standard. Just awful.

The lockbox was super far from the truck and a little tricky to find. Directions might be nice
Spencer BI reserved a truck in Guilford CT and then was told I would have to go to East Haven instead. U-Haul should have made arrangements to bring the truck to Guilford rather than ask me to drive 30 mins out of my way. The location was in an industrial area with very poor signage. And the first attendant we spoke to had NO idea what was going on or how to help us. The young lady there had to help us and she was fine. But, the truck was parked several hundred yards away from the "office." I would never rent from this location and will likely not rent from U-Haul again either.
MERTON GThis drop off location is in a remote location. It does not matter whether you come during normal hours or not, they operate on a key drop off box. It was raining and visibility was poor. There was a sign on entering the Auto Mechanic shop that said yo drop off key in the drop box, but the sign was not bug enough. On entering the makeshift office, I greeted the gentleman and explained I was there to drop of the Uhaul rental. He said go back to the entrance and there is a drop off box on the right to drop off the key. Seconds, after I left, I realized that I had forgotten my EZ pass box in the truck. I called the gentleman back and he qas kind enough to come out in the rain to open the drop off box so that I could get the truck key to recover my EZ pass toll box. I will not recommend this place for drop off of your rental truck.
GEOFFREY NWere the personnel helpful? THIS IS NOT APPLICABLE BECAUSE OF THE CONVENIENCE OF DROPPING OF WHILE LOCATION WAS CLOSED. THIS WAS APPRECIATED. The down side was the place of return. It was obscure... little signage and very few directions. The first sign made you belive that you were at the right palace... then upon observance we saw this was not the case... we drove further looking for indicators... I saw a couple uhaul mini trailer hitch ups on the side of one building,,, a lot of junk and dibrese surrounding them... decided this was not the place.... Cars and other vehicles were parked in disarray everywhere... We drove to the other side of the large lot to find another uhaul sign at the oepning of another fence... we drove in pas another large factor building with a trailer on our left... driving around the building more trucks, tractors and other vehicles... no indicators if this was uHAUL LOCATION, WERE TO PARK ( THERE WAS NO ROOM), TURNING AROUND HEADING OUT PASSING 2 BUILDINGS BACK TO THE FENCE WITH SIGNAGE ON THE OTHER SIDE, I DECIDED TO PARK THE TRUCK NEAR THE TRAILER... A DRIVER PASSING US HEADING TO THE BACK TOLD US THAT THAT WAS UHAUL, BUT THEY WERE CLOSED. THIS WAS THE ONLY REASON WE KNEW WE WERE AT THE CORRECT PLACE, THE WAS NO UHAUL DROP BOX AROUND OR ON THE TRAILER, THERE WERE MAIL BOXES THAT SAID "TRANSPORTATION" THEY WERE NOT SECURE. HAVING NO OTHER APPARENT OPTION I DROPPED THE KEYS INTO THE LARGER ON... AFTER FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS ON THE APP, TAKING THE AND UPLOADING THE PICUTRES I BEGAN TO DRIVE AWAY... BUT THE KEY SITUATION DID NOT SIT RIGHT FOR ME, SO I TURNED AROUND TO LOOK AGAIN... TO THE RIGHT OF THE ENTRANCE I FOUND THE UHAUL DROP BOX. ... it was way in the back of what appeared to be a truck refuse/junk yard... ... We really had no idea were to park the truck... and the keY deposit was a ways away... we had to look pretty hard to find were to find the a place we ASSUMED WAS THE PLACE PLACE TO PARK. WHICH GOT AFFIRMED BY A PASSER BY... THEN WE HAD TO SEARCH FOR WERE TO PLACE THEY KEY... AFTER LOOKING A WHILE WE FOUND THE KEY BOX. TIP: PARKING LOCATIONS SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED AND THE KEY RETURN SHOULD BE NEAR THE PARKING RETURN AND CLEARLY MARKED... THERE SHOULD BE NO ASSUMPTIONS BY THE CUSTOMERS.
Dar WI spoke with this location and at no time did they explain to me that it is closed on Saturday(my pick up day) and that I would have to download an app and do everything on line. Communication goes a long way
Jeffrey MUnclear on return area. Staff thankfully was outside otherwise I'd have had no idea where office was.
Patrick LTrailer wasn’t clean
Tom aThe office is very hard to find and has no UHaul signage. I had to stop at three other offices/businesses before locating the UHaul office, only to find it closed. The neighboring businesses are frustrated with UHaul, understandably. In particular, two of the three neighboring businesses complained that "they just park the trucks and equipment anywhere." It is not good for customers and it is not good for UHaul branding.
Tom KConfusing on where the office is, once I found it parking was also confusing. When inside the trailer was not well maintained, the extra items I needed for the job were not available as promised and the individual was not concerned nor did he try to help me resolve the problem.
David GMore signs, especially on the actual office. The equipment was parked far enough away from the actual office that I entered two other businesses that were closer to where the trucks were, thinking that one of them was the office or perhaps that the U-Haul was based within one of them. The office itself had no signs on it indicating that it was even in use, much less that it was the U-Haul office. So, a long delay while I tried to find the place, then an additional delay because instead of giving me the key in the office, I was told to go to a lock box to collect my key - only they told me the wrong lock box and the key I retrieved didn't actually work with the van I rented.
RICHELLE LI could not attach photos through the app via return/ the app failed several times and somehow returned the trailer without me answering the final questions. I do have photos of the return at the time of the return
michael lWhen I returned it to I returned it with more than a 1/4 tank of gas. My invoice said i returned it with a 1/4 tank. Good thing I took a picture again with time and date stamp. Please call me to resolve Kevin Mickune 203-247-1125
Kevin MTerrible customer service. There's a sign that says to stop here for returns but there's no office or people to help. We got honked at and yelled at by a trucker onsite. A bystander turned out to be the return agent but he didn't stop his chat with his buddy to come to our aid. He accused us of damaging the trailer but when I showed proof it was already damaged, he backed down. Acted inconvenienced we were customers. He went out of his way to tell me he doesn't believe COVID is real…..just an unpleasant threatening environment for returning a trailer.
