Arrived on a Thursday at 3:45. Office closed!!! Called the designated number. No answer and voice mail full!! Figured out how to check in on line I guess it worked There are better locations in Harrisonburg

First time using this location. The 24-hour drop off was great. I called and was told where to drop off the trailer (otherwise we would have dropped it off in the wrong area and was advised it would have been towed and I would have been charged). So glad I called! Notification for the 24-hour drop would have been good, I got lucky calling during business hours, very helpful.

To start off, I reserved a truck in Edinburg Va. but the day before I was scheduled to pick it up I got a call saying that it was not available. The person on the phone attempted to convince me to drive an additional 35 miles (70 miles round trip to Winchester Va.) the opposite direction to pick up a truck that fit my needs. I finally got a vehicle that fit my needs 30ish miles away from where I needed it in Harrisonburg Va. Then I received a call from the Harrisonburg Va Uhaul three and a half hours after I pick up the truck. The woman on the phone was rude stating that I shouldn't have taken both keys in the pickup box. I assumed because it was pitch black at 0600am that the other key was a spare. She made it rudely clear that I was wrong (why would someone put 2 keys in a locked pickup box? Seems like a security risk..) Finally when I dropped the the vehicle off the automated drop off system was not working properly. I had to spend an additional hour and half on the phone with customer service before I was informed that there was a national payment system outage and thats why I was unable to complete the transaction. Through all of this, I will add, James at the after hours drop off service was an excellent help, knowledgeable, polite and extremely patient. Your company needs more individuals as focused as him and willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. As for my experience with Uhaul, I am sure that I will use competitors from now on and tell everyone I know either personal or via social media about the issues that I had to endure.. Horrible experience.

I returned my truck at 3:45 yesterday. The store hours said open until 4 pm. When I arrived, the store was already closed. A couple was waiting at the door, so I know it was closed even before 3:45 pm. There was no note about closing early, and I was told the day before that I had to return it by 3:45 because another renter was getting that same truck. So it was known other people were coming in. Not only could I not return my truck in-store, but they also were not able to rent their vehicle either. I was incredibly frustrated with them.

I was charged $20 for not notifying you when I turned the equipment back in, but I picked it up and returned it the same day and told the cashier I was returning it same day.

The lady working was super friendly and nice. She made the experience great. Please make sure the lady working sunday the 8th gets this she was wonderful i came in with a friend and his daughter and i was late. Her great personality made my day so much better and made the whole experience great.

When I picked up the truck, I left my car in the parking lot overnight. The sign stated, overnight parking for customers only. When I returned the truck the next day, my car had been towed. The impound yard was less than a mile from the U-haul dealer and the tow cost me $160, which was more than the cost of the truck rental. When I called the tow company and explained the situation, the first comment from the tow truck driver was, didn’t they give you a parking pass. Nobody ever offered a pass or said anything about needing a sticker. When I asked the U-haul dealer, she pointed to a sign on the wall and said, didn’t you read this?! There are a bunch of signs on the wall, who has time to read all the signs? Is it too much for them to ask the customer if they will be parking a car overnight and offer a sticker? I have rented from this dealer on several occasions and have never had this issue before. The dealer mentioned the property manager recently changed tow companies. Too many excuses and blame games. I will be renting a truck in the next 1-2 months, will definitely not rent from this dealer and will probably look for something other than U-haul.

I used the phone app to pick up and drop off the truck. The process was easy to follow, but took longer than I expected. It might be a good idea to just let customers know that it will take 10-15 minutes to complete the process each time.

Debbie was absolutely excellent! Called a week before with a question and she was very courteous and helpful and more of the same and then some in person. We were very close to closing time returning the truck and she couldn’t have been more gracious! Very personable and helpful, full of personality, wit, and humor. The truck was good. The price was good. We had to pay a refundable deposit because we paid cash. Long story short, it wasn’t refunded and apparently was entered incorrect. Make sure your quoted truck price matches and check your gas and mileage before leaving.

I had clicked on 24/7 by error so when my husband Went to pickup the truck the lady working at this location said “oh you’ve got 24/7 and proceeded to stand outside smoking her cigarette and did not offer him any assistance or guidance in how to pickup the truck. Very unprofessional.

Minor misunderstanding on terminology like utility or cargo at first but went well after that. Deborah knows her stuff and made the transaction understandable and easy. Hooked me up with explanation and full safety check. Return was even easier. Pleasant experience.

Very nice lady checked us in. Signage as to where to drop off vehicles or equipment would be helpful. It was in the rear of the building which was in a strip mall. Not an obvious drop off location.

The U-Haul employee was very nice, but I was in a rush (moving day) and check in took much longer than expected. It was probably a combination of the computer not working and her wanting to chat, but it was a little frustrating for early in the morning on my moving day. Very nice though.

I don’t agree with the pickup scheduling. I had a rental reserved for 9 am for 4 hours (9-1), but was unable to get the truck until 9:45 as there were 2 groups in front of me. I got there at 9:05. I was told that I had to have truck back at 1 regardless of when I got the vehicle which happened to be 45 minutes after me pickup time . I had budgeted 3 1/2 hours to do the moving which fortunately I was able to get done earlier. This needs to be addressed for the future. I can’t see paying for X amount of hours but not getting the requested time.

STOP saying the U-Haul App and website navigation process for check-in so easy and actually help customer walk through it, specially first time. Stop reserving trucks at the location that is closed half of the time and close during regular working hours noted on the door. Answer the damn phone listed on the store front. Realize that your lack of effort or mistakes can ruin lot of things for customers who may have planned lot around the truck rental.
