HORRIBLE- This was the worst rental experience I've ever had. Horrible online booking - I requested a truck in Niantic, Ct. 3 miles from my home but was booked in Norwich, at Northeast Truck rentals (16 mi) away. Got there- they didn't have my order, rebooked me for walk-in local rental. Returned truck there 2 days later - they refused to take the truck saying â€œthe guy who did rentals was not there.â€ Told me if I left the key there I would continue to be charged until he returned days later. They told me I had to drive to Action rentals (2 mi) away in Taftville to see if they would take it. Got to Action. - they said they couldn't take the truck. If they did, Since the truck was booked wrong at Northeast - I'd be charged $$262 to return it at a â€œdifferentâ€ location. Finally. Dave called U-Haul traffic dept. They cancelled the $262 fee but said all the extra mileage ((50 miles) I accrued because of the booking errors (online & at Northeast) would not be subtracted from my bill. I paid for the extra miles & the 2-day rental in order to close my rental contract & left. I am requesting a full reimbursement of the (50) extra mileage & fuel costs I endured ($25 to put text on full). Inept vendors, rude customer service a waste of my money & time â€" this was a horrible experience dealing with U-haul. I do not recommend this company.roxanne J.
Need to have 1 800 Uhaul be honest about the hidden fees at time if the pickup! I asked when ordering about the final cost with 3 different people and they agreed to $453.00/5 days. It was a lot more than that. I am not talking about taxes.JOSEPH O.

Its a drop off, so no special services needed. In and out in a few minutes, the location is a very busy towing/transportation business with lots of trucks and activity moving about.David S.

Comments on U-haul in general, nothing to do with pick-up site. U-haul is a bait and switch operation in my opinion. I called the 1-800 number to reserve a trailer and it was set up to pick up on 6/27/13 at the Columbia, CT location. On the 26th I found out that I would have to travel over 40 miles to pick up my trailer at a location I didn't even know how to get to. I was furious because just one day earlier, the 25th, I confirmed with the Columbia location that my trailer was on site and ready for me. Finally I got a trailer at yet another location that was a little easier to get to, but still not close. When I picked up my trailer I was disappointed to find that I had previously ordered a dozen furniture blankets and the pick-up location did not have any. I am not happy with my U-Haul experience at all and will think twice before I use you again for any moving.susan C.
It wasn't clear to me when I reserved the truck online that the 24 hour drop off service was actually a drop box. Thankfully the person at the receiving end was still at the location so that we could hand him the keys in the parking lot. He was very helpful. I rated the location clean and inviting as not applicable because we met him in the parking lot as he was ready to leave so didn't actually go into the facility.LISA C.
When I went to pickup the truck, the reservation no longer had the destination address stored in the reservation. I had to go home to get the destination so that it could be re-entered into the reservation. I WAS VERY FRUSTARTED TO LOSE 45 minutes of my day because the data was not retained inthe UHAUL system. Received the truck, got home and there was a tear in front tire. Called and was told to call roadside assistance. Called roadside assistance who said they would arrive in 90 minutes. Called after 90 minutes as they still had not arrived. Finally arrived 2.5 hours later causing a huge delay in our moving plans.KATHY B.

I had an absolutely horrible experience reserving a truck to move. When I initially reserved my truck, the pick up location was a 45 minute drive from the place I was moving from. After someone from traffic moved my reservation to a closer location, there was no truck at that destination. After another 30 minutes on hold, I moved my reservation for a week later. When I called to confirm that there would be a truck for me at the location closest to me, I come to find out that my pick up location was moved yet again, this time 20 minutes away. I took what I could, as it was my last chance to move, however I will never use Uhaul again because the customer service and the centralized coordination is nonexistent.MICHAEL D.
