Poor customer service and rude
Shashank SuriThe truck was dirty and arrived more than 30 minutes late. We were accused of not filling up the gas enough when it was clearly at a higher level upon return. We were not charged for this though.

The level of fuel in tank at pick up is wrong on the receipt and not marked anywhere for me to refer to (they have it as over 1/4 tank when it was definitively 1/4 at pick up, luckily I took a picture). There was a truck parked where I was supposed to drop off the van then tried to park it in a different location and a business owner got angry at me. The seal on the doors it broken so it sounds like you have the door or window open at all times. The tire pressure monitor was broken on the van. There was no indication of where the lock box was so I had to search around the whole building (another uhaul was parked in front of it)
Norman Amos-WoodShop didn’t open until 15 mins after my pickup time. Van that I rented had no gas in it (yellow warning light was on), and I was not reimbursed for gas that I put in but did not use. There was confusion about how many kms were used (not properly displayed on dashboard).

Rolzon GayetaThis uHaul is placed in a clothing store and the owner was on call with his supplier delaying the line, the owner is a middle aged man who is not well versed with technology further slowing the process, I had booked the Uhaul for 2pm and I despite of being there on time I got the vehicle at 2:50pm. And the Uhaul i got had a faulty fuel level reader, I ended up paying $20 worth of extra fuel which i wasnt reimbursed. I will rather use a Home Depot rental truck next time.
Paras PatelYour description of where the lockbox is was completely inaccurate. It was extremely cold and my son and I walked all around the building until we found it at the side near the back of the building. It said it was next to the main entrance. I also did not feel very safe to be walking around the back of the building when the vehicle was out front for me. I also didn't understand why it never asked me for the starting kms but asked me when I returned it. The kms were also not showing on the dash because there was a message there. Very confusing. Definitely need to update lockbox location.

Ho Sum LaiI had an unfortunate experience with this business, one of the worst in my dealings. Despite sustaining a back injury during my move, my humble request for an extended rental period fell on deaf ears. Both the customer service and scheduling manager failed to provide assistance, treating my request as unreasonable. It's frustrating when the scheduling manager's role seems limited to checking a calendar without the ability to accommodate customers. Politeness and understanding were lacking in their communication, as I explained my situation humbly, only to be pressured into returning despite my injury. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this business to friends or family.

Yaroslav YasynskyyThe van had a very nasty fish smell. I believe the people who rented it before me transferred fish in the van, so the juices and the water were all in the back. It was next to impossible to drive the vehicle from the smell.

He didnt told me the reason for it and told me and said it will be refunded so why extra money was debited? And also tell me if renter has to pay extra for the gas because its already paid after the base pay of the truck.

Daniel TangVery disappointed. It took 35 mins for uhaul to approve my online pick up which was annoying and because of which there were multiple delays in my schedule. It tool uhual 2 weeks to generate my reciept and final payment amount. Which was another inconvience.
Vinit VaghaniI find it ridiculous that this location charged me 15 cleaning fee for a small piece of cardboard that i forgot to take out in the trunk. It is just unbelievable that taking out a piece of cardboard i forgot cost this much.

Makpeme Emily AniFirst of all, there was no truck available for pick up at the pick up location I reserved for. Then my reservation was not honored because the truck cannot be left in London, which is the destination and I have reserved for one-way trip. Fortunately, the representative on the phone was able to arrange promotions for me to compensate for the travel back and find me a pick up location which was 10km away from the original pick up location. And this all happened two days before my reserved pick up. Things got worse when the uhaul person from the pick up location called me at 9pm, less than 10 hours before my pick up, yelling at me for reserving the truck at 7am. He yelled I am not allowed to reserve the truck that early and asked me who allowed me to book at that time. I booked online. Uhaul proudly advertises 24/7 pick up and drop off so was very surprised and angry to be yelled at the night before the pick up. To make things worse, he didn’t honor my time and I had to negotiate to pick up at 7:30. I don’t know why I wasn’t able to do mobile pick up, which was an option. The next morning, he arrived at 7:53. I waited in front of the uhaul pick up spot for almost 30 minutes, almost an hour late from my original pick up. At this point, I was disappointed at uhaul and this location. Didn’t think I’d get more disappointed and furious, but he handed me a 10’ truck which smelled like urine and weed in the storage area and also the car. And to make things worse, there was a low tire pressure alert beeping as we turned on the car. When we asked to change the truck because we feel unsafe driving this truck as we were about to have a 500km journey - thanks to uhaul it doubled - he told me this is NORMAL and EVERYONE DROVE LIKE THIS. He cut me off and insisted this is safe and treated me like I didn’t know what I was talking about. He even didn’t want to tell me what the alert meant - or simply he did not know what it meant - so I had to google what it meant to find out that the truck was unsafe. He told us to drive away and tried to head back to his office as if all the rental was complete. Then he told me if I really wanted to change the truck, I had to call customer service to change the truck and there’s nothing he can do. I tried calling the customer service which I was on hold for 30 minutes but he found a way - miraculously - to cancel and the rebook a new truck. This was a very upsetting and disappointing experience with Uhaul. From customer service to rental itself were dangerous and intimidating, let alone mess up my schedule.

Rose JacksonVan was all scratched and stickers were all pulled off. Took a while to find the van as the identifying stickers had been pulled off too. I had chose the rent method to do all through the phone but had to run inside, wait in line for the store employee to give me the key. Defeats the purpose of choosing checkout through the phone when you need to go in to get the keys and go back in to give the keys. I will not be renting from this location again
Pierre-Mathieu GirouxIf I had option to rate it negative, I would have rated it negative. I highly recommend that uhual must close this branch, as the owner of this branch is rude and unprofessional. At the time of booking, he was 1 hr late to open the shop to hand over me the keys. At the time of return, he said park there and here, couple of things. His uhaul office is inside the shop not even separate office, which really amazes me. I have rented uhual and rented cars, its really disappointing to see how the operations is being handled by such people for a rental truck giant like uhaul and compromising the brand name of the company.

I first booked it online for 8am amd was told by Uhaul website I could pick up van/keys through the app. I arrived, but when trying to pickup on the app, it told me I have to wait until store opens at 10am. I waited and store clerk was very slow, had no record of my booking (no matching booking #, name or phone) even though I could still see my reservation. He also had no truck available, even though my booking was supposed to have been for 4hrs. So, he said he would book me a truck at nearby location. He did. I received the message with reservation #. I went to the Pharmacy Uhaul location and they also had no booking at all amd reservation # was not found either. So, they ended up booking me yet again on their own system. Website also malfunctioned when scanning my driver's license back. In the end, I was able to use the truck, but I hope I don't get charged 3 times, since I was booked 3 times total...
Dmitri AletkineI booked a car several days in advance, but they informed me just before the scheduled time that they couldn't provide the car I reserved. They forced me to change the pick-up location, which wasted my time. The interior of the car smelled bad and was dirty. The most serious issue was that the tire pressure warning light on the dashboard was on, indicating low tire pressure, and there was a maintenance reminder. I informed the owner about these problems, but they still allowed me to take the car. The steering wheel was crooked, and the overall condition of the car was very poor. I will not rent your company’s vehicle again.

Kristena JaggonI reserved 10’ truck from this location at 11 AM. But when I got there at 11, there was no truck at all and there is another girl also reserved 10’ truck at 11 AM. Apparently it’s overbooked. After 30 minutes waiting, the owner told me that he can give me a cargo van. I told him if cargo van then I need to go back and forth 2 times to move all my furnitures. So more kilometers and more time. He said that’s ok and he will give me discount on kilometer. But at the end when I return the van after 4 hours. He didn’t give me any discount, when I asked for discount, he said because I took the van too long so I should been charge for 2 days. But really I only used it for 4 hours. After I showed him pickup time. He said ok he will give me kilometer discount, but he didn’t give anyway. Very bad experience. If you gonna reserve from this location, all I can say to you is good luck

Arad GhadiriI drove the u haul only 21 miles and filled 9 liter gas. I have the picture of fuel both during rental and during returning the equipment. I kept the fuel level same. But they charged me fees for 8 liter gas. No accountability and no trust on this rental place.
Md ZABID IqbalStore owner come at 10, but my reservation is at 930. Been waited outside the store for 30 mins under this hot weather. Owner did not aware and record the gas level when giving me the key, so I took a picture on the dashboard just in case. When I returned the truck with the gas level same as before, he did not accept and said it should be higher which is ridiculous even when I show the picture to him. Would not recommend to anyone to this location, such a bad experience for rental.

Maria AngelVery complicated process for both checking in and checking out. I don't downright dislike this location but U-Haul in general should have just honoured by reservation in the place in booked it for (Aurora) and find a way to solve the issue of previous users not bringing the truck back on time. Why do I have to be changed twice and drive to those two different places, making me late getting on the road, when they could have just brought a truck up to me from the closest applicable location with that truck type? You really have to go out of your way for this company and by the time they give you the $50 guarantee reimbursement and the discount, the gas and travel time eats that back up.

achmat karodiaThe truck was giving warning about tire service. It was not swept behind the truck. There was lots of dust and dirt. The person working there has no communication skills. It was difficult to deal with him. The whole experience was bizarre and very unpleasant. Besides, this was not the place I made my reservation. I made my truck reservation at 738 Sheppard Ave E Ste 205, Toronto, ON M2K 1C4. However, I got a text message just a few hours ago saying that I had to pick up the truck at 2541 Pharmacy Ave Scarborough ON M1W2K2. I could not reach anyone at 738 Sheppard Ave. Due to this lack of communication, I could rent the truck 1 hour later than my plans. And that caused to lose time from elevator reservation at my apartment. And that caused lots of problems while moving. As you have not provided me a truck at the reserved place, I think you should refund me $50 as you advertise on your website. On top of these, I could not use your app or website while checking out and returning truck because none of them works. The whole experience was just frustrating and terrible. What is wrong with you? Are you trying to go out of business?
Nedim BarutPick up location was convenient and easy to get to. Improvements that can be done would be clearer instructions on how to big up and return the truck at this specific location. It wasn't clear that we had to go into the store to pick up the keys for the truck and I returned the truck after hours but there was no clear instruction on where to place the key, I had to go ask the convenience store next door that was still open, luckily they knew there was a lockbox at the back of the building. Other than those hiccups, picking up was easy and the store clerk was helpful.

SEDAT BAS1- THe floor Dolly was not operable (I paid 5$ rent for it) ; the wheels were jammed, which was not helpful. It was also covered with a wet carpet. 2- I had an Orange Dolly, which I paid 7$ to rent, and was already inside the truck; the shop owner took it out, gave it to another client, and gave me a half-size dolly, which made the job much more difficult and my back still paying for it. 3- The furniture protectors were on the floor and half wet. When I returned the truck, he asked me to fold and return them to the shop. 4- I had to remove garbage from the truck cabin and wipe it with disinfecting wipes. The storage part was fine. 5- The shop owner was rude and had no idea what customer service is. 6- The good side the truck was there when I arrived in the morning.
Jamal Amin Abu RrubThe reserved equipment was not available and the Uhaul representative at Nivetha Textile did not do anything to help me to get them from other locations. I ordered 12 furniture pads, however, only 5 pads was given and I was charged for 12! I had two utility dolly on my reservation, however, none was available. I was given the vehicle with half tank gas and I returned it with half tank full. However, I was charged for 1/16 tank gas refill. I took picture of the dashboard after I parked. So I am pretty sure the tank level was not less than half tank full!
