The truck was reserved for pick up in Litchfield. Ended up having to go several miles north of Litchfield to pick up truck. The reservation was made on 12-29-20. I feel this was more than enough time to get the requested truck to the location it was reserved for pick up instead of having to go a different, less convenient location. My son had this problem in the past as well.

The lady who checked me in was extremely nice despite me showing up just a couple minutes before she closed. She processed everything quickly and was a pleasure to work with. Plus, I found a new place to shop in the new town that I moved to!! I would highly recommend this location to anyone!

I originally booked my reservation at the location on Bruns lane in Springfield, IL. When booking on August 12th I was told they had a 20ft truck available for a one way rental on my reservation date August 24th. I was in the store the following weekend, August 17th purchasing boxes for my move and overheard the GM Owen from that location telling a customer she would have to pick her truck up at a different location. When I finally got to the counter I asked Owen if this would happen to me for my one way rental the following weekend. He said no, that is plenty of time in "Uhaul time" and said it would be there for me ready at 8am as reserved. Due to this verbal promise I booked movers to help loading my truck for 9am that morning. On Thursday I received a call from Tammy at traffic who said I would now need to drive 45 minutes south to Litchfield to pick up my truck. I was quite upset as I was promised by the GM at the Bruns Lane location that the truck would be there. But it seems that because he was the only one working and had a long line he didn't have time to explain the process to me and was more interested in being dishonest to get me out the door. Tammy had offered to help me out by letting me pick the truck up Friday but that would not work as I had my father taking the train down from Chicago on Friday evening to drive the truck for my move. I proceeded to call and then go into the location on Bruns to try and see if they could help me at as now I was in a bind and time crunch to get the truck Saturday morning and back in time for the movers I had already paid $200 for. Chris and Don were working and trying to figure it out for me. Don offered to drive to Litchfield to get the truck on Friday so it was there in the am. Chris received approval from the GM Owen to call traffic and get it approved and he would then let Don do that for me. Traffic agreed to let them do it as it would be helping the customer out, but the Bruns store would not receive credit or commission for the rental. Owen then said no they would not help me out because it would be of no benefit to him or his location. This was very upsetting as I feel when you are in a business you should work together and help out the customer especially when you make empty promises. Overall my experience was okay as Zac, Chris and Don from Bruns along with Tammy from traffic were all very understanding and did everything they could to help me out. They truly all had the customer's best interest in sight. Owen was a huge disappointment. He was short and rude with making empty promises to hurry me out of line and then denied helping me out because it wouldn't be beneficial to him. I would not recommend that location on Bruns to anyone as long as he is the GM. When I went in there Sunday I was talking with a few ladies that also stated he told them one thing that was not true which they relied on that information only to find out it was incorrect on the day of their re

I was charged 12 miles over the limit. We drove the U Haul directly from the location in Edwardsville to Carlinville, then to the place to drop it off. There was no additional miles. It was only $5.00, but not sure why there was that charge. Maybe you are not allowing enough miles for the move?

This experience was horrible! The truck got cancelled. Tried to make me get one 50 miles away. The drop off was incorrect location. Nana's didn't know we were coming. The lady at Nanas was great. U Haul experience was horrible. Bad service!!

Location was great and people there were great. I just didnt like that I ordered the truck for Jacksonville, Illinois and then had to drive to Litchfield, Illinois to go get the truck. Its over an hour away, very stressful addition to moving. Need to have a disclaimer on the site when you are getting it reserved, at least make it bigger if there is one.

It was a mobile pickup, which took about 15 - 20 minutes. Not bad, I still think picking up in person is faster, but it worked. It was easy enough. We had to drive further to get it than we wanted and you still have to pay the mileage from where ever you pick it up.

The lady that ran this location did make some calls for me but was only able to credit half the money back. When I explained the situation she told me I would have to call the other lady's boss to get it straightened out. I have never done business somewhere where nobody had a clue what was going on and would not go out of their way to help an unhappy customer. My whole experience was horrible. I also found it very odd that she had a large bird cage with four birds in her office along with a dog. Her office was a mess and had items everywhere. It was very unprofessional.

uhaul rep was very pleasant and most helpful. location was an additional 30 miles away from my reservation, but compensated me with extra days of usage without charge. she made it right and will continue to use uhaul! many thanks!
