Be at the store location at the advertised times. I waited over ONE HOUR and called twice before being helped via phone. Never again at the Rusk location!!

Make sure the right key box is assigned for after hours pickup. It took almost 3 hours after my arrival for pickup to figure out how to get my correct truck.

This place if business has gone "all online." There's no one to help you with any issue. There's a number to call, and when you call it, many times it just rings and rings and no one answers. And when someone finally did pick up, they could barely speak English, they could barely understand me, I could barely understand them, and they said they did not service that location. I called the U-Haul number, again, and the man was rude and angry, and said just to leave the U-Haul there. But there was no one there to lift the heavy trailer off my truck hitch. I had to drive many miles out of the way with the trailer on my truck and find a couple of friends to come back and lift the hitch off the trailer. And then we had to do all the work to check the unit back in, as if we were the U-Haul employees, except we don't get paid for the labor. So I'm paying U-Haul for this service and yet we are the ones doing the work for U-Haul without wages or compensation. U-Haul has this backwards. U-Haul needs to pay their customers for doing their work for them. The man on the phone that was rude and angry said it would only take 3 minutes to unhitch the trailer and to check it in. He was very wrong. It took several hours and quite a few miles and the expense of driving a truck with a trailer and hours on the phone calling. Then I had no phone reception at the drop off location to do the check-in. Theyl use your phone to verify the location to make sure that you drop it off at the correct location. Two of the three of us had no phone reception out there. So after all that work if the third person hadn't had reception, then we would have had no way of checking the trailer in and would have had to wait several days, and then there's still no person that works at this location any longer because they're all online. So it was a really bad experience all the way around between U-Haul not doing their job and this other company having no personnel there and doing it all online and having no backup to follow through. The next nearest U-Haul location is it good 20 miles away, and they were closed also.

front tire needed air when i picked it up..it caused problems trying to complete my drop off and pick up doing it online because i could not verify milage on the vehicle

this was not the location I wanted. I had to drive 40 miles one way to get the truck, you gave me 40 miles,but I paid for 40 miles of gas that I shouldn't have. and 80 round trip on my car. And you didn't call me to let me know the location had changed. So thanks a lot , I will think twice before using U-Haul again

Upon returning the vehicle, the address took us somewhere other than the drop off location. I began calling to find out where they were located but got no answer. I was calling again when I walked into a small office area and asked the lady is this where you bring the U-Haul‘s? She said yes and I said that’s me calling you. The lady was just letting the phone ring while she sat there. Then when I asked her about leaving the truck she said U-Haul handles that. Just park the truck and put the key in the lock box. Terrible experience with Uhaul!

Pick up location was changed the day before it was scheduled, It was 28 miles further than the original pickup location. I reserved a 15' truck, which as at the location and we were told it was not available. When we did self check-in the site stated it was closed and we had to wait until it was opened. This was a 24/7 pickup. We arrived at the location on 08/14/22 @0845. The pickup time was 0930. We were not able to get a truck until approx. 1030. The locks on the key lock box was very difficult to open, it needs to be maintained better. I'm guessing the keys to the 15' truck were still in the return box and had not been placed in the lock key box. I was mentally exhausted even before we started loading the truck.

I paid $240 to rent truck , took a pic of gas gauge and put gas right back where it was and I also turned truck in day early and backed big truck where lady wanted it and I still got charged for 3 extra gallons gas, omg people…

So I am quite upset with every part of my experience. First off i reserved my truck a week and a half before my move. Then the day before I was told that they did not have a 26' truck wich i needed, so I had to drive 40 miles away. Once i got there she was not there and had to wait 45 mins for her to show up. Once she showed up she was very rude and I had to drive to the other end of town to get the truck. I was told they added milage and that the truck had half a tank of fuel, wich it did not it was at 3/8 of a tank. I was told to bring it back at 3/8 of a tank to make up the difference for me having to drive 40 miles back to the original location to get moving blankets they did not have for me. The original location was not open so could not even get the blankets. Then I dropped off the truck and got charged $12 for fuel when the truck was just under half a tank. The truck smelled horrible and had to drive it 1200 miles. You can look at my history with uhual my job requires me to move every 2 years or so. I am beyond upset at everything it is unacceptable. I know it is only $12 but That is ridicules when I was told 1 thing and brought it back with more fuel then I started with and still got charged. Unfortunately in 2 years when I move again I will be using a different moving truck.

Picking up after hours was no fun. Spent about 2 hours just on hold to get help. I will not do that again. I will get set up with a person instead. We were glad that there is an option for people to get after hours though. Thanks U-Haul we did get it done.

There has to be a better way on informing the customer that the pick up location changed. I never received any update on why my truck wasn’t at the location I selected. They should notify the customer through email or a phone call if the text message doesn’t go through.

Check in very friendly and helpful. I had problems with online self check in regarding getting the app to recognize my location, however no fault whatsoever of this local rental. Great UHaul location.

Have the trucks located within walking distance to the office. Have signs at the location of the trucks saying the office is a few miles away. Have signs telling you where to exit the location. The poor lady behind the desk was very nice and helpful, but the poor management clearly shows. Have the location with the correct address. This was the most poorly managed Uhual I have ever witnessed. I lost an entire day of moving because the truck we were given seemed to be blocked in. There was no direct number to the location to contact the office the explain the situation. We drive straight out of the parking lot and got stuck. After 45 minutes on hold for the emergency number!! I was greeted by a friendly lady. I explained the situation and was told I could leave the truck to go pick up my new truck. As I was leaving the local law enforcement told me I had to stay because the truck was blocking the highway. After 3 hours sitting by the highway we were towed out of the ditch and went on our way. During this entire time. I was unable to contact anyone from Uhual. I had to call a different office who couldn’t help me. This was the worst experience of moving I have ever had, and that’s out of 31 moves in my life. I will never use Uhual agin and will explain this story to anyone debating on using Uhual.
