Had had to take photos of the trailer before use to show damage because they had not done so when last checked in the U-Haul office was closed when trying to return it the same day at the same location so I couldn't get anyone to change it to at least a same day rental and the person at the location could not do it . But was returned the within a hour of rental to same location.Angie H.

Please note that my boyfriend Sam Jones and I have rented from UHaul with out family 6 times in the llast 8 months But if this can't be resolved none of us will again. I have a call in i've sent emails and called. No response. This location is a nightmare. The representative could not be bothered to be at the location. The owner of the gas station was so rude. I've never seen a business so angry because I was giving them my money. We were forcedb to stand in the back corner and do our rental over the phone. She did not verify my id was mine. She filled my info in without asking me abut extra services and my bill was significantly ($100 significantly) more than our trip down. I asked and she couldn't or wouldn't explain it to me. She took payment from a credit card that doesn't belong to me. The card was in sam's mother's name. She's terminally ill, hence all the moving we are doing. She didn't verify even when I asked her to anf we were hoping to provide an alternate payment if we were told it was needed at the time of return inspection. She didn't have me check the truck mileage/damage/etc before signing a contract. And I never received a written contract until 10 min after we drove away with the UHaul. Never given an opportunity to read or sign. She emailed my contract. It was a scan and nearly illegible. I can't read the mileage or addresses or any numbers. There would have been no problem but when we returned it the rep there saw she has sent the incorrect mileage so we lappeared to have negative mileage. He said that was a first for him Our inspection was completed 15 min before due time and we were told we were done. Remember his mileage is wrong and I've never been able to read mine. Well over an hour later I receive a message that sam's sick mother's credit card has been charged an additional almost $70 for mileage that I can't verify. IM ASKING THAT THE LAST CHARGE BE REFUNDED TO HER CARD. Refunding the whole awful experience would be better but the last charge for surebbcinthia B.

I want to be very clear about what I am rating. This is a combination of both the equipment and the facility. First off, this was the 3rd and final location I was directed to go to pick up the rental vehicle. My first preference was Wee Willy's in Gainesville, GA. Before I could pick up the vehicle, I was later directed to Oakwook Tire in Gainesville. These folks were extremely friendly but did not have a truck and I was then directed to Mt. Vernon Texaco. This bouncing around put me 30 minutes behind my scheduled appointment of 10AM and as a result, the group helping me had to wait on me. The truck that was ready for me was dirty, had wires hanging below the dash and almost 190K miles on it. At that point, I had no choice but to accept it. When I made the drive to Greenville, SC, the truck drove so bad it was almost dangerous and the tires were so out of balance that you could not see out of the mirrors for the vibration. The steering wheel had so much play in it, it was hard to keep the truck in my lane. When I arrived at the drop off facility, the gentleman there said that this truck was well past it's prime. He tried to blame it on Covid and the lack of trucks. I have seen trucks all over the place so please don't play that card! Very disappointed in my experience. If you want to improve for the next customer, make sure you have in stock what you are renting and that it is in good condition. I will be moving again within the next 3 months and I can assure you I will shop around before just conceeding to UHaul. If you want to talk about it, 843-534-6821.Wendell B.

U-Haul definitely failed during this rental experience. It's wrong for the others to take credit for those who picked up the slack. And the condition of the equipment and the supposed rows side assistance would have been laughable except for the fact that it delayed our move and interfered with us meeting the movers to unpack the truck. But what I learned from the last U-Haul person to contact me was don't tell us your problem just tell me what I need to know to get you off my plate. So dissatisfied with this company. Can not believe how many ways your services failed.David W.

This was a very efficient rental experience during a busy holiday period. I was pleased to be able to find the type of trailer I needed even though it was not at either of the U-Haul locations nearest to me. The entire rental process was handled very smoothly, mostly remotely, using a combination of telephone, text, e-mail, and web-based interaction. This included validating the condition of the trailer using net images, and confirmation of my driver's license using my cell phone. The only on-site interaction was when the store manager of the convenience store/gas station where the trailer was located came out to take a photo of the trailer attached to my vehicle, which presumably captured my license plate number, and the state of the hitch and chains for reference. The return was equally seamless. I suspect the fact that I am familiar with trailer hook-ups helped it to go smoothly. A novice user might prefer a conventional location with more hands-on assistance, but this was exactly what I needed. The trailer travelled well, too. It was not new, but has clearly been maintained properly, and retro-fitted with LED lighting. Good work all the way around.JAMES B.

They were rude, disrespectful and did not give me my deposit back even when they made me leave the premises to go fill the gas tank back up even more, although it stated in my contract that could be taken out of my deposit. Too difficult to return the trailer. They wanted it backed into a specific spot between two trailers. This is complicated given the traffic patterns at the gas station and the pumps being in the way. It took too long and was a very frustrating return.Grant L.

Terrible experience because of no customer appreciation. Place is run as a convience store/gas service station and that is using the term loosely to imply any service or convenience exists there. "Mike" needs training in hospitality and professionalism. He had ZERO manners. (I pity his family.)U-Haul headquarters needs to send "secret undercover renters" there a couple of times to experience the abuse other customers have to endure at this facility. I am sorry that it had to come to writing a negative review, however it is truthful. Hopefully, U-Haul will try to correct the problems at this location. It REALLY needs attention.Karen M.

Location for pick up was changed but never received and email or call notifying me so we ended up driving out of the way to the previous location only to be told they did not have it. It was actually located just few miles from our house so we had to backtrack all the way across town back to basically where we came fromANTHONY M.
First off, this is a U-Haul that is ran out of a convenience storeâ€¦ There was one lady, apparently, running the store and I had to wait until she got finished with a customer so that she could come out to the truckâ€¦ Then, my boyfriend had to unload the appliance handtruck himselfâ€¦ We are the customer... she should've just been able to open the back of the truck, see that hand trucks were there and leave it or unload it herselfâ€¦ This process was much slower than it should've been...Sherry C.

These people are crooks they charged me for the biggest truck when I got the med one the sign said 29.99 and they charged me 39.99 I told her the sign said that and she said no this is my store not u-hauls so I would not recommend this place at all and then the lady in front of me had her contract in hand showing it was at a half tank of gas and that lady tried to charge her for a full tank. This location should not be allowed to rent out uhaul equipment. The lady was very rude the whole time. I will do my best to not let anyone rent from here again. I would highly suggest Ryder or Penske to anyone.Charles L.

Oh drop off was scheduled for Greenville ga even though we were in Gainesville ga. We spent roughly an hour with the automated system and various reps to have the location changed to one of the many drop off locations within 15 miles of us. The one that was in the system was over an hour away. The reps we spoke to said they system was unable to locate our city and insisted we needed to go to this Greenville location. After much persistence we got it changed. The process of renting and returning this Uhaul was not easy.David M.

I didn't drop it off at mt Vernon market. I dropped it off at macs Valero like I was supposed to, but I was still charged a wrong location fee on top of extra miles that I wouldn't have had to use if I had been able to get the truck where I reserved it. Terrible coordination. Terrible customer service. Terrible company. Rented a 6'x12' cargo trailer. Basically was handed the paper work and told good luck. No direction or assistance with connecting the cargo trailer to my truck. Tongue weight unloaded on that trailer is still relatively heavy connecting alone besides the fact that there was no direction to ensure it was hooked up properly. Trailering boats, etc I'm pretty familiar with how to connect but not all people are. This could expose Uhaul to a lot of liability if a trailer disconnects en route. They really need to walk out with the customer. I'm assuming he did not come out because it is a convenience store and he was alone.KEVIN B.

Check engine light was on when we picked up the truck. Equipment reserved was not available. Pick up location was not the pick up location that was originally selected and I wasn't notified about any of these changes. The facility that the vehicle was picked up from was up to standards. The truck, equipment, and location of pick up, however, were not. This made for a very difficult move without the dollys that were reserved but not included. I'm very disappointed with this renting experience with Uhaul. I've used Uhaul numerous times in the past and have never had this horrible of an experience.Jeff R.
