Mickey MartinAs noted above, this was my planned drop location, however either U-Haul corporate or the pick up location changed the drop off location in the app. I went to Moneta and they were very helpful and sorted it out.

Anna AlbertsonThe attendant was very helpful, however, the U-Haul job was a secondary job . She had to help out her gas and convenience store customers before she could log in my return. Not a serious problem but it could have been had she not logged in my return within the hour before it was due.

Steve PoffThere was no jack available to raise trailer up to connect to my truck . Trailer was in a parking lot that was not level and when i picked up the front of the trailer it started rolling. The woman working in the store was not helpful at all. There was a older gentleman there also getting a trailer by himself so i helped him picked up the hitch to attach it to his truck. Woman did not try to come out and help either of us. She also stated and i quote " I will be glad when all of thee are uhauls are gone because they are a pain to deal with and its not worth it.

michael dunbarthere was no assistance to hook up or disconnect the trailer. the tongue was very heavy and difficult to lift. I was not familiar with the locking system so it was a bit unnerving when we drove off.
William GillespieI originally set to pick up at 11:00 a.m. I received a phone call saying i hadn't picked up and did i want to change it. I did. The lady at the counter did not change the pick up to the later time and when I returned it on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. exactly 48 hours after renting it, I was charged extra for a late return.

Andrew GarrettUHaul should have their own representative at this site in Moneta, VA rather than having the one minimart check-out person try to handle customers and someone trying to pick up their UHaul truck all at the same time! It took us 1 Hr 15 Mins to pick up our rental truck! Then we found out that she had us as a one way and we'd told her twice that it was a local rental. We were only driving 18 mi. to move our daughter. I asked her how much was charged to my credit card and she said she'd sent me my receipt. I never received an email because she had a typo in my email address. When I called UHaul they said my total was almost 4 times what they told me the total would be!!! Now I'm left trying to clean up this mess and getting money credited back to my credit card!! When we dropped off the truck the next evening, I told the man in the booth what had happened and he remarked, "UHaul needs to have their own rep handle their reservations because they always get screwed up here". That was an understatement!

Craig McCrackinThe person at the counter of the rental location (a gas station/beer/snacks shop) could not have been LESS helpful during my rental. I was unfamiliar with the rental process in general and had tried to be as prepared as I could by doing the advance check-in, and the way she interacted with me seemed to be specifically tailored to make me feel as stupid as possible. I don’t know if she was already having a bad day for some other reason, or perhaps was angry about something else - but I think she was deliberately terse and unpleasant towards me. When she had everything finished, she said “ok, here’s your truck”, handed me a scrap of paper with a number written on it, and then turned her back without another word. I was confused, and asked “is there a key?” and without even turning around mumbled “key’s already in it…”. It took several minutes of looking at the small number on each truck in the parking lot to find the correct truck, then several more minutes searching through every nook and cranny of the truck before I found the keys - tucked up underneath the driver’s seat. It would’ve saved me 10 minutes of frustration had she just said “your truck is right there” (pointing at it) and say “the key is under the driver’s seat”…. How easy would it have been for her to do that? Instead she made me feel like I was imposing on her simply for being there. Later, when I returned the truck, and she asked for the mileage, she didn’t seem to believe that I only drove the truck 13 miles (it was a local move) and made me go take a photo of the odometer to prove it. Then she asked if I filled the truck up - the truck was ful when I picked it up! It had a little over 1/2 tank, and I only drove 13 miles during the rental. I’m not filling up a truck that wasn’t full to begin with, when I barely drove it at all. What a rip-off! Also, the truck had a check-engine light, and when I told her about it, she didn’t even acknowledge my telling her. Recounting my interactions here in print remind me of how unhelpful she was. If I ever need to rent a truck again, I’ll go someplace else, purely on principle. And I’m going to tell everyone I know down here the same.

Dean LarsonProvide the size vehicle I reserved! Because you changed us at the last minute to a larger truck we were unable to get it up our driveway due to the length. Cost more for us to pay movers as they had to hand carry everything up a steep hill.
MICHAEL SMITHWas told to do the rental on line , then when I got home with the trailer the location called and said I had the wrong trailer and I needed to return to the location and this after the lady had wrote the trailer number down and that was the trailer I picked up . I had to send her pictures of the trailer to show I had the correct one . Very disappointing with the service

James caldwellThe agent at the Moneta was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. However, after completing my rental I noticed an insurance charge for Safe Tow was added to my bill without my knowledge or agreement. I had definitely refused all of the extras when making the reservation. I called U-Haul and the charged was removed and refunded. But the representative blamed the charge on me for not checking the order first and said the refund was a “one time courtesy” refund. I was insulted, since I rejected the insurance, yet it still appeared on my order - clearly a “bait and switch.”

Selena FielderTrailer should have not been rented. Equipment should be periodically inspected to insure it's safe for renters to use. Before I ever attached it to my truck the tire was flat. Informed the person inside the U-Haul dealer was told I would have to call uhual or put air in the tire. Called uhual was told to call roadside assistance even though I hadn't even connected it at this point. Never was offered a different piece of equipment nor a different location. Added air because roadside assistance didn't have a definite eta on service. Got to where I was going one hour or more later tire was flat. Called roadside tow driver was great just a long wait. But he replaced the tire. Usually never had a problem with U-Haul but today was the day. Didn't finish doing what I needed to do because I lost a good bit of time

shawn hendersonThis was a change as I was supposed to be able to drop it off in Bedford but that a-hole told me I had to be back by 7:30 to drop it off and that was not going to happen. So I called Uhaul Customer service who rerouted me to Roanoke at 9 at Night!! BS!!! Then I was told I would not be charged for the extra miles but I when I got my receipt I was billed $40+ in gas which is crap that was the 10 gallons it took to drive to Roanoke why should I have to pay for your error. I am disgusted with UHaul and how this rental went it was BS from the beginning to the end I gave good rating cause its not the people in Moneta/Roanoke fault it was that a-hole in Bedford that you guys should take his Uhaul license away. He was so rude and screwed up my day so bad. I had a 10 hour move turn into a 15 hour move because of him and I got charged an extra 10 gallons(40+dollars) on top of all of this. Never will rent from you guys again.
Scott WarmanThere was no one to help me hook up the trailer. I had to use a car Jack to lift it on to my truck trailer hook up. After I left to pick up my property the trailer door started sticking. It appears the cables in one side of the door were off track. I was finely able to close and look the door. I reported the problem in my drop off report.

Kenneth McAdowWe have rented here before without issues. However this time we had problems. Even though I had reservations on my phone. The truck was not available. The store clerk was knowledgeable and called the appropriate person to resolve the issue. We ended up with a larger truck. So all turned out good. The truck had not been cleaned. Looked like dried juice all over thenseat. There were moving blankets, dollies and a 2 wheeler in the back. Probably from the last custom who rented.

Clerk was very upset that the system allowed me to rent from there and choose options she did not have available. She was running a convenience store and I had to stay in there and tell customers she would’ve right back. The first truck she gave me had the check engine light on. She did give me a discount because of our troubles.
BRENDA TAYLOROwner called day before and told me not to check in online but to call him on his cell phone to check in. I tried for over 30 minutes but he never answered phone. I then used the online check in. Almost an hour to check in is not ok.. worst uhaul experience ever. Worker in the gas station was great.

Daniel HendersonVery poor communication on return location. Received an email indicating I spoke to someone and had agreed to a return location in Rocky Mount. I had not spoken to anyone. Overall a frustrating experience.
James KennedyRunning lights did not work, brake a turn signals did work. Drivers side tier had 25 pounds of pressure when I picked it up. Drivers side door needed lubrication, hard to close and made noise when closing.
