Have the tank full - not just this location - but all UHaul locations. Inconvenient to have to fill up immediately. I left $20 in the tank for free - not fair to the consumer!

This was may first rental and drop off point after the rental. The process for the rental is not explained to the customer. This location tried to help with the return but UHaul wants the user to use their smart phone which took so long for me. Returning the trailer for me was a big headache. I guess if you rented the equipment a lot you would become more familiar with the procedures.

Picked up the trailer on Sunday. Did not know that the super long safety chains will be twisted up to the proper length. Returned it on Tuesday AOK. I was concerned to hear that the trailer rental portion might be terminated at the Marathon Station IF the Marathon employees will need to hook up trailers. This needs to be corrected as the RENTERS should all do it and carry the responsibility of doing it properly !! For me it was all smooth sailing. Clean and DRY furniture moved 260 miles for $85 bucks.

The location was a combo gas station / convenience store / U-Haul. The equipment drop-off location was at least 200 yds away. As such, the attendant in the gas station / store did not inspect my trailer at all.

I was told at this location that I could not reserve a truck at the store and that I would need to reserve the truck online. I reserved the truck online with my credit card. I went to the store to pick the truck up and the cashier asked to swipe my credit card to reserve the truck after I clearly told him that I had already reserved the truck online. He assured me that this was protocol and they were only holding it until we returned the truck and that it would not be charged. In the end, I was charged twice and over charged by $34

Only one lady working and she kept having to wait on convenient store customers. She was having problems with the computer. No one to check the trailer lights or help me with hooking the trailer to my truck. The lady was very nice and apologetic. But I will never use that location again.

I'm absolutely floored that, in order to get a truck that you don't have to drive almost an hour away from to pick up at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, you have to reserve 6 months in advance. That's what I was told when I called your customer service line. Does everyone know 6 months in advance that they'll be moving? Can you not get more trucks at that location? So let's talk about actually picking up my truck. I'm sent 45 minutes away to a gas station slapped in the middle of a run down old store in Bedford County, Virginia. The girl who is running the place has never done a Uhaul rental before, and is simultaneously trying to run a gas station at the same time. See the issue here? Her manager would not pick up the phone and we had issues with the system that she worked tirelessly to get it resolved, despite the fact that the Uhaul service line she called to get help hung up on her. I had rented a car tow dolly, furniture pads, and a utility dolly. This location had neither the utility dolly, nor the furniture pads. Thankfully I was given those by the storage unit in Roanoke. AMD speaking of storage, my unit has nice. But that's another issue entirely. This has been the worst experience and I highly doubt I'll ever be using Uhaul again.

Very convenient location to Smith Mountain Lake area on the Bedford County side of the lake. Lots of room to move around and hitch up equipment. Will use this location again in the future.

Slow painful process. 45 min from my preferred location. No info from reps, no openness to answer questions. Doing the bare minimum. Never use I haul again photos texted to me did not show damaged areas on truck. Dropped from phone check in updating pics twice. Shameful service.

If it would not have been for Sandy and Andrea my experience would have been one of the worst ever. The internet connection dropped at least 5 times, there were no small trailers available, and the employees had to balance my uhaul needs along with a very busy gas station. Sandy was able to assist with me with a larger trailer than I needed and gave me a break on the extra cost. Sandy and Andrea are good representatives for the uhaul company.

My original online inquiry , 5/28/19, rates had the 15’ truck at $461. I feel it jumped up when I made the online reservation. Zero help retrieving the trailer. The store Mgr was only concerned about sales, no service acumen. I was charged twice for the trailer rental at the retailer. As much as I protested being charged twice, I wasn’t getting out without the second charge. I want immediate credit to my bank account. Why was my contract split into two? 22968882 and 91794238. I recd a text from U-Haul 20 hours before my pickup that the trailer was in another location from the truck. I called the Bedford U-Haul aNd was told the auto transport was in disrepair and she didn’t know if she could get a tech there that day to fix. After an hour on the phone, bounced all over I was able to get a pickup of both pieces at one place. I was told the reason for the two separate pickups was due to the one way rental being treated differently from local rentals. That’s a you problem. On site, in the moment Customer service is there to create returns and referrals. The local retailers and some of the reps I spoke to could use some training. I had used UHaul many times in the past. I won’t use your company in the future and will not recommend your company. And to top it off, in my frustration at the retailer I left my new prescription glasses at the retailer. I called and spoke to him. He said he would have the closer check later and call me. I have not heard a word. When I sat on hold, before taking the recordings advice to fill out the survey, I was disconnected after 15 minutes.

Hard to find and not signed well. It was a service station in the middle of a unkempt parking lot with many of the businesses shut down. Was not your typical U-Haul facility.

Attendant was not interested in helping disconnect the trailer. Granted, I was there just after he opened. He said put it over there and when I returned with paperwork rather than check me out, he continued to consolidate trash from the trash cans before getting around to me

Sandra at the Moneta Market was very helpful. I had no problem with this location. I do have a problem with the way U-haul handles their reservations. I made a reservation three weeks before I needed the truck. Reserved it to pickup in Roanoke, Va. I got a text the day before my pickup day telling me I had to go to Bedford, Va which is 25 miles east of Roanoke to get my truck. I get there on Sunday morning to get my truck and they are closed on Sundays. I had no way to get my truck. I then spent twenty minutes on the phone with Uhaul trying to find another truck. I had to drive another 15 miles to Moneta to find a truck. Uhaul had double booked the truck I ended up getting. We had to wait 90 minutes for the truck to be returned. Uhaul customer service was not very helpful. It was a stressful situation on an already stressful time of moving. At the end of everything, after turning the truck in. I had a $5.00 charge that there is no explanation for. Uhaul made no effort to work with me or offer a discount while I was trying to find a truck. All they were concerned with was how far would I travel to get a truck that should have been in Roanoke where I reserved it to be picked up.

Attendants know nothing about U-Haul rentals. Did not have "guaranteed" trailer available. Had to take much larger size. Computer was down. Very frustrating experience.

I am rather upset with U-Haul since I made a reservation for a trailer and gave all information required. Then, I was asked to travel to a site 1 hour away to pick up a trailer I had reserved at the original site. The next inconvenience was the fact that the computer didn't work and is stood there at the counter for one half hour waiting for the clerk. I was told I could take the trailer and I would be called later. No one was there to assist me with hooking it up correctly. I received a call later requesting all the information that I gave with the original reservation. I then get another call from U-Haul asking for the same information. I thought I would only need to do this once. I hope I still get the $25 reduction in my fee but believe it should be more given all the inconveniences.

The drop off location seemed to be having computer problems, had to call HQ for assistance. Never signed off on any paper work but was assured all was good. Made aware of short pads(2). Turn in took about 30 minutes, seems a little excessive.

the truck needed wipers and some new back tires. We didn't have far to go so it worked out for us, Thank god it didn't rain hard due to the wipers but this is a small maintenance fix. Thank Uhaul for working with me on the price, they could provide the size we needed at the location we need to pick up the truck so they let us have the availability truck which was bigger for the same price. Thanks you U haul for working this out for us it made the move a lot easier on us after all we were paying and help and family member in need so all good we do for others will come by for us. Thanks again U haul for helping us, help another.

Move equipment to the designated pickup location, rather than expecting your customers to go out of their way to a location much further away to get equipment that is still not exactly as requested.

Recent reviews were brutal and very negative so I was not sure what I was in for. My experience was just the opposite. Friendly and efficient staff with a quick painless drop off. This was just a drop off so not sure how the other direction would be but everyone seemed to be on there game.

I had arranged for rental on line. When I got to pick-up location, they had no record of the rental and didn't even know how to log in to the U-Haul system--had to call someone else to walk them through (and some portion of that phone call was spent talking about lottery tickets). They did not help me attach trailer. Had to do that myself. It was a good thing I had watched closely when you prior rep did that. Prior rep (Jay Maxfield) was knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I also had to handle the disconnect of the trailer and place it where they wanted it placed. This was terrible service.

The location is a busy gas station with one attendant present. I rented a 12' trailer and when i dropped it off the attendant was busy with customers and was unable to help me take the trailer off my vehicle. (A 12' trailer is ver heavy on the young and is not easy for a 65 year old to remove by himself). He told me to pull it over to the storage are and he would be over as soon as he was done with gas and store customers. I did so and waited about 15 minutes for him to arrive and when he did not i went back to the store and found a line of customers waiting to pay for gas and store goods. I told him i had another appointment and need to drop the trailer and get going. He ended up asking a customer in line to help me because he could not leave the store. The customer was kind enough to do so. This is not the employees fault but the franchise dealer should have had more than one person there if they are going to release and receive equipment and UHaul should make that a requirement is there is another business operating from that location. Also UHaul should install a dolly wheel on larger trailers so a customer can remove them when necessary. I have rented several 12' trailers over the past 2 years and have had numerous situations (drop after hours, etc..)where they were dropped and no one was available to help and a dolly wheel would have allowed me to remove them from my vehicle without others assisting. They gave us a 10ft truck with balled AND low tires. Then they also gave us a trailer with balled tires to tow my 4000lb 4Runner on the back. We were traveling 500 miles in a rain storm and ended up hydroplaning into the median and putting me and my wife in danger ! And then they wanted us to pay for a tow truck to pull us out? We already payed over $600 for the truck and trailer and had to pay ANOTHER 350 to get pulled out. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO UHAL they do now do a Thorough check on their vehicles. The lady we dropped it off to Even said That the truck and trailer we’re not safe to drive nor were the tires roadworthy and that we could sue them if we wanted to she was very polite to us and offered half of our money back but I would not recommend going to U haul

I have received multiple calls from Uhaul about my rental. I signed up for a pick up in Lynchburg, va but they didn’t have my truck. I was charged for a 15’ truck when I was told by Susan I would get 50 extra miles and only pay for a 10’ truck since it wasn’t available at my location. I was charged for pads and a dolly but never got them.

Train the clerk a little better, he had to call U-Haul to help him do the rental over the phone. Other than that I had no other problem and when I returned it the drop-off was really quick.

The truck was dirty. The windshield was dirty. Overall the truck ran ok. the problem I had was this: I ordered this truck in advance to be picked up in Lynchburg VA. The night before I was to pick up the truck I get a call to find out that my truck is not available at this location. Instead I am expected to drive 45 minutes away to a completely different location. I asked for another truck - one that was in Lynchburg already to be told nothing was available. If I order a truck in advance then I expect that truck to be at the location I ordered...not 45 minutes away. And if a truck is not available - that is UHAULs problem - not mine. UHAUL should drive the truck 45 minutes to the location I designated. I should not be expected to fix their problem. I was given a $30 discount for said trouble. Overall I was not happy at all.

For the second time in 5 months went to pick up our "reserved" truck at our local location which we had reserved 10 days in advance. Arrive on the reservation date and they say sorry we don't have one for you. The first time we had to drive an hour away to get it. This recent one we had to drive 45 minutes away to get. It's pretty sad on moving day you go to the up the truck and you lose 3 hours having to go retrieve one. The people at the places we had to go pick them up were very nice. The people at our local location were very nonchalant that they did'nt have a truck for us and did'nt really even seem to care. That location is the Uhaul on Timberlake Rd in Lynchburg,VA. Did'nt even give us a dicount or any kind of credit for wasting our time.

Get someone who can speak English,know what their doing, and when you return the vehicle they check it over and give you some kind of receipt that you brought it back. Also make sure you dont get over charged! They didn't even get my husband's name right on the receipt now that's bad seeing as they had his driver's license! Was charged one base price and was told all that was due was mileage overage well the base price is now 20 some dollars higher along with the mileage. So really watch this location

The drop off is in at a convenience store for a gas station which is supported by one person. Unfortunately it kind of ties him to the building so he can't do things like acquire the odometer reading (I had to run out and get if for him).
