The manager that runs this place is great!!! Her name is Cheryle. She knows this business backwards and forward. We could tell she's very experienced, and knowledgable. We returned our Uhaul to this location, and decided to rent a storage unit as well. Cheryle is very down to earth, and put us at ease with the process. She's personable, and easy to talk to. You can't go wrong renting from this place...Cheryle will get you taken care of.

I was charged over 200 for mileage and I wasn't told that u-haul charges 75 cents per mile. This is my first time renting a moving truck so I'm not sure how it worked. I made a reservation to pick up the truck at 9 on the phone and I wasn't seen till 9:44 pm.

The main person at this location was more then helpful. She read the notes about our hardships and when I called her, she offered to come to were we were to help open the door (Wilda Kier - who actually paid for this damaged equipment, could no longer open the door because of the back strain she suffered having to open it before). So the person from this local Uhaul came out and helped us open the door. And she gave us another day to turn in the truck specifically because of the problems with the truck directly caused us to be late by a day.

The guy was nice enough but forgot to screw the hitch down to the ball. I'm lucky I asked him if he tightened it or it wouldn't have taken long for the trailer to dislodge from my hitch and possibly damage my brand new truck or something else.

My Recent Experience with U-Haul was completely distasteful, utterly stressful to the point of becoming a health hazard, irresponsible on the part of U-Haul, total lack of integrity on the part of proper notification of lack of inventory and downright disrespectful toward honest customer service in regard to what amounts to one of the most stressful events a person will endure in their lifetime. Moving a three bedroom house alone is stressful enough until your moving rental company calls you up the day before the move…. Let me reiterate this…. THE DAY BEFORE THE MOVE, and informs you that there are NO LARGE Trucks in your area. Not that you are not getting the 26' truck you ordered or the 20' truck you had originally asked for but NO large trucks within a 50 mile radius of your location. So let me put this into perspective for you. I work for Virgin Galactic in Mojave CA (the middle of the desert) and recently had a baby (4.5 months old now) which prompted a move out of the desert and to Pasadena, CA. My wife and I relocated to San Francisco, CA where we have been living for the past 6 weeks with our newborn while staying with her parents. We recently closed on a house in Pasadena CA and to save money I decided to pack the house up myself using U-Haul as our moving rental provider. I reserved a 20' truck two weeks prior to the move then changed the order to a 26' truck three days before the move with no indication that there was a shortage of inventory or that there would be problems with the order. Instead I got order confirmations both times that everything was okay. I drove to Mojave from San Francisco to pack up the house while also working during the day for Virgin Galactic as a stress engineer. Then on the day before the move (Friday October 7, 2016) U-Haul called me up and dropped the no truck bomb on me. I had planned the move so that I would have movers over at 10:00 am on Saturday October 8, 2016 where I had paid for 2 hours of loading service. The movers were then going to meet me in Pasadena at 2:00 pm (where I was also going to meet the Owner of the house we closed on). U-Haul offered me two 15' trucks for $70.00 each. I asked for an extra day and 50 extra miles on each truck due to the uncertainty of how I was going to drive 2 trucks by myself. You have no idea how badly this screwed up my moving plans. I spent nearly 4 hours searching for a second driver (time I should have spent packing to be ready for the movers on Saturday). Because of the change to my order I had to try and find another driver, pay more for the movers because it took them longer to load two trucks, couldn't find another driver so I had to drive one truck to Pasadena, let the movers unload it then I drove the unloaded truck back to Mojave to get the other loaded truck, which I then drove to Pasadena. The Mojave location was an averege u store location. I had no problem with the location. But the U Haul traffic dispatch was horrible to deal with wanting me to drive an hour out of my way and an hour back to pick up the truck that I set up at this location a month in advance. After telling the dispatch person this was not acceptable I was given a choice of canceling my rental or picking up at the location given. I told dispatch this was unacceptable and was hung up on. After calling customer service I found out a customer representative was able to acomplish for me that what turns out to be the assistant manager of traffic could not. After getting the truck loaded and getting on the road the truck brakes down on us as the dash light comes on telling me the charging system is not working. We called road side assistance who were actually quite nice and helpful! But we had to wait an hour and a half for the mechanic to arrive and a half hour of diagnosis after which he decided we needed to take the truck to their local shop where it turns out they had a mechanic on duty was only 5 minutes away! Where after another hour of troubleshooting the truck the mechanic determined that the charging was ok and that the dash instrument gauge was bad, my choices were drive the truck as was it stop in LasVegas 89 miles away and remove all my stuff from the truck and put it in another truck costing me more time! I chanced it and put up with a faulty dash and a lot of agrevation. So after loosing almost a day of travel and letting u haul know about my horrific experience they decide $60 of the over $2000 I spent on their faulty equipment is all they will refund me for all of my agrivation and this after I was informed that this is a common proem with these trucks when I returned it! Seriously disappointed with u haul!

I would never recommend this location because I recieved late notices for days because no one came in to the office to check in the truck. I don't care for being threatened with legal action due to someone elses neglect of their buisness. I continued to recieve the late notices even after I contacted the number provided in the text messages and explained what was going on. VERY TACTY UHAUL text your agent not your customer!

Will not be renting from uhaul again, your reservation system is a joke and I ended up with a 26 ft truck 40 miles from my house, as opposed to the small truck I requested at one of several uhaul locations near me. Extremely poor customer service also. No one called to inform me that there was no truck available, which is ridiculous and had I been made aware I could have made alternate arrangements instead of waiting around on your company for hours. One of your service reps blatantly lied to me twice. The ONLY good thing about my experience was the gentleman who owns the pickup location kindly agreeing to stay there past closing time while we travelled to get the truck but he's a local business as opposed to a uhaul chain so I'm sure that has a lot to do with his decency and customer service. Second year in a row uhaul has drastically screwed up my move, will be sure to let all my friends and family know what a terrible experience I had.

The above mentioned location was not the original location for the truck pick up (although these people were very helpful). I made my reservation on-line, and the original pick up location was to be at U-haul of Greensburg which is approximately 7 miles from the home from which the move was to be made. Later Friday evening, the 18th, I received a phone call from U-haul, and was told that I had to pick up my equiptment in Connelsville (sp?), PA which was over 60 miles from the home. Consequently, we had to choose another U-haul vehicle which was located more reasonably. We were forced to select a 17 ft. truck and really only wanted a 10 ft. truck. It seems very unreasonable to me that if only 452 miles were included in the rental package, we were asked to use 60 of them to simply obtain the truck! The whole rental process was a disorganized mess! I ended up paying for a truck much bigger than I wanted, and also paid more in gas to drive this bigger truck to my final destination. It seems to me that if a reservation was made on-line approximately one week in advance, there was more than adequate time to get the required equiptment to the designated location (U-haul of Greensburg which was the location listed on the on-line reservation). Moving is stressful enough without the truck rental being a terrible fiasco. Sincerely, Beth Gillis
