BEWARE!!! FIND A DIFFERENT LOCATION OR ANOTHER COMPANY TO RENT FROM! If references need to be called for a â€œpre-approvalâ€ process, this needs to be done at registration, not once we arrive to pick up the vehicle. We were sure to complete all online forms before we arrived. Our online portal showed â€œregistration completeâ€. When we arrived before office hours to pick up the uhaul we then were put through an online â€œpre-approvalâ€ process, which required us to stand next to the uhaul and send pictures, complete several more questions, and a verification of our referrals was done on the uhaul side-which then required us to call our referrals at an early hour on a Sunday to ask them to answer for the unknown call. This is not a part of town that anyone should have to stand outside on phones for any length of time while locked out of the uhaul and their office. A man was passed out on the sidewalk out front of the building, along with many other individuals occupying the area. Something needs to be done to preapprove customers before they arrive to pick up. This put us almost an hour behind our intended schedule and was all in all a horrible experience. Completely unacceptable to put paying customers through this. We will never use uhaul again.Evie F.

We picked up the trailer and they were unable to get the connection to the lights to work. They sent us to another location about a mile and a half away to get a new cord. The technician installed the cord and told us that the lights were working. We took the trailer to the apartment and loaded it. When we went to leave the next morning, we checked the lights before we left, and they again we're not working. We went back to the second location and they said they thought we had a blown fuse (told us it happens all the time). We went to a Toyota dealership to see if they could help us, but they had no time to help us. We had to drive 2 1/2 to Des Moines with no tail lights or blinkers working on the trailer. Everyone I've dealt with at this location was extremely helpful. They hooked my trailer up to my pickup and unhooked it when I returned. All of this took place in the raln while seeming happy to help. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with U-Haul reps or the auto transport I rented.Brian T.

Truck was not inspected prior to rental by representatives. Had to return for maintenance. Tires were slick and caused truck to get stuck in dirt. Roadside assistance doesn't cover this so I had to pay $250 to get truck unstuck. Don't get me wrong, part of the blame is on me but even after that, because of the slick tires, wet roads and full load, truck was still unsafe for the road. Double billed me for 2 days which put a hold on money in my account unnecessarily. The eventual cost was adjusted somewhat but the adjustment really was too little too late. The CEO of U-haul did call me back to discuss my situation which impressed me. Thank you Joe.Quet S.

While I can't recommend the location of the pick up because of the crime and lack of nearby safe gas stations. This truck drove excellent. It had a lot of exterior damage...but the drive was very good!Sofia C.

when you enter the parking lot to go inside it is hard to tell where to enter. Then once you're inside it is not clear as you are walking down the hall if you are going the right way. I rented the vehicle for 8 hours, but there was no alert that the place was only open for 7.5. The app says, "We are open" and the hours of the place are not intuitively found. I am sure all is well, but I didn't feel right leaving the vehicle (legally parked) on the street and I never received notice that all was well when I messaged the drop-off location. ¡Gracias!Pamela T.
