I have been a frequent renter of Uhaul car trailers and dollies. My local dealer is Dean at Oconomowoc Wi Auto sales. In early Oct. Dean scheduled me to pick-up a car hauler in Jefferson GA. They had five haulers on hand. It cost me $286. Dean has no car haulers assigned to his location. He told me trailers accumulate down south this time of year and as an incentive, Uhaul cuts the rate to bring them north??? Uhaul called me on the road and told me I had four days to turn it in. Dean called me after two days and asked if I could return it early for another customer. For this trip the cost of picking up a trailer in NC was again about $286, so I asked for a local trailer. Again Dean had none. I had to pick it up in Sullivan, 35 miles away. I was scheduled to pick it up at 5:30 PM after closing?? I picked it up early, about 1PM. I loaded a VW to drop off in IL.but the left load ramp would not stow. I found it was not the same as the right ramp and the underside ramp structure did not clear the retention latch. I had to lay on the ground under the trailer, hold the latch open with one hand while lifting the ramp with my outstretched leg and with my free hand pull the ramp into stored position. A difficult task in the rain. I had to repeat this proceedure in IL. and NC and WI, all on wet ground.Additionally one of the right tail lights did not function. On the second day at 1PM the Sullivan dealer called me while I was hauling through TN, he needed the trailer at that time for another customer. Obviously short scheduling was not going to work. A half hour later as I was negotiating Interstate changes in Knoxville in the rain I get a call from the Uhaul district rep admonishing me for being late with the trailer and inconveniencing a customer that wanted to take my trailer to New York. He told me Uhaul would charge me another day BUT he wanted the trailer back in Sullivan early, by 10AM for the other customer. He was not concerned that the Sullivan dealer is closed on Sunday and that the trailer required repair. I feel Uhaul is not managing their car haulers to meet customer needs, not maintaining the trailers properly, and not treating return customers like me appropriately. I will look hard at alternatives the next time I rent a trailer.

They did not have the original 26' foot truck like I had asked for and they did not have an appliance dolly that I had on my order so I had to go to another location to find a dolly. Not very enjoyable

I would not recommend Uhaul period, very expensive and misleading with pricing info. We paid $140.00 to go one trip 65 miles for 10 x 10 truck. We thought it would be $19.96 and .69 cents a mile. Which would be $44.85 + 19.96 = 64.80! Told by Uhaul customer service rep it usually cheaper to go round trip. Well I asked out of curiosity how much what we have saved if we returned it to departing location and it was more money, ha, what a joke! Round trip would have been $144.65. Yeah, Uhaul is definitely not what it used to be... Also uhaul said credit card usage would be cheaper and was going to be used as security deposit, well they got that $ and then some more. To make it worse our uhaul trip was merely to put our stuff in storage til closing on our house. Well, got backed out on and now we're homeless. Life!

If the original spot is not where the equipment is available the cost and or difference in millage should not be charged to the customer. I drove an additional 20 miles of which I did not need nor desire hence the reason why I went a to the dealer in my area. When I asked it was a take this 26' or leave it and take the 20' (huge difference) answer given to me by the Uhaul representative.

It is with my best intent that I write to you regarding an issue with a reservation. I am very upset at what happened. My sister has brain lymphoma has been fighting it since March 2015. Due to the chemotherapy and radiation she now is unable to live on her own. She needs to move in with me. I graciously sold my house and bought a bigger one with the intent of moving her in with me so I could care for her. I am an over planner. I plan well in advance so there are no surprises and things go smoothly. With that said, I made a reservation for a 26 foot truck on June 8, 2016 to be picked up in Lake Geneva, WI. You can imagine my horror when I got a call from the regional office telling me that that do not have a 26 foot truck and I will have to drive 30 miles out of the way to retrieve it. The reservation was made almost 2 months in advance. It was not a short time turn around. I can not even begin to tell you how upsetting this is to me and my family. We are not young people. We have made arrangements to get help to move her. Now will she have to leave some of her worldly possessions behind? Because they will not make it into the truck?. We shall see. The regional office did offer me a trailer to pull behind it. Unfortunately we do not have anyone that has the knowledge to maneuver a trailer. Had someone called me and advised me of the situation I could have made alternative arrangements. Unfortunately the U-Haul Company blindsided me with this last minute change that could affect what she can and can not take with her. With making a reservation almost 2 months in advance I expected to receive what I ordered. I even paid for it in advance. I did everything on my end to make my sisters move as painless as possible. It is unfortunate that U-haul has turned a bad situation to an even worse one. Instead of being part of the solution, you are now part of the problem.

One of the chain/bolts on the ramp was badly twisted which made it very difficult to remove to lower the ramp. Had to use a mallet, which raised the bolt barely enough to allow the ramp to be lowered, previous user had obviously been careless. Later in the day, we were able to get the bolt all the way out of the "chamber" and untwist the chain for ease of use.

Trailer had low tire. Had to pay 3 times for air at gas station on trip down to Arkansas. Cost $1.00 each time.Not Midstates Trailer Distributing company fault but fault of where trailer came from and they did not check tire. Westgae Security Stg manager did take $10.00 off bill. Still had tense time driving worrying that tire might go flat.

The location was extremely close. they guy was very helpful. I am still upsest with Uhal and their description of what goes in a truck. I am upset that due to what they say fits in a truck and what we feel wasn't the right size truck we had to leave behind belongings

You can make sure that the trucks are well maintened because batter died two time and was on the phone with road side assainsint at 2 am for total of 45 min with no one to help just a automated service.Lots of fusturation. I have to drive 50 miles from my location to pick the rental truck
