The fuel on the system was more than the actual fuel in the truck. The guy said just let the people know this when you return the truck so you won't be charged for the fuel. Guess what they charged me for the fuel and although I returned the truck on time , I guess the guy on the other end processed it late so now I'm being charged for an extra day and have to fight both charges !Hala H.

The man spoke barely any english! When I arrived he spent 25 mins trying to figure out how to check out the truck to me. Then proceeded outside and had try and squeeze the truck out of a small area! One side was rocks the other a trailed backed up directly behind it! He moved the truck to the right of ours and had me assist him backing up so he would not hit anything and left me there to move my truck i rented with out any help at all truly appalling! Thankfully my spouse was there and was able to assist me! As I left he changed my drop off location from where I had originally said I would drop off!!! Worst experience ever!!! First I was supposed to pick the trailer up in Danvers location where my furniture and belongings were in storage. It was changed to this location the day prior to pickup. I left work early to drive over an hour to get there to find I had to hook my own trailer up...in the rain nonetheless. The staff was very nice and helpful but as a travel nurse who uses uhaul frequently this was a very disheartening and overly stressful experience.jill D.

Terrible customer service. I reserved the truck a month before my request date. The day of the reservation my truck was not available due to the person prior not returning it back in time. Instead of notifying me or looking for another truck for me I was left stranded. I walked into the Methuen MA location on Pleasant Valley st and demanded the young woman to help me find another truck in the area. I had to drive an additional 14 miles to Middleton to get the truck. I was promised to not get charged the 14 miles since it wasn't my fault that the truck was not ready at the correct location. This put my move behind 3 hours. Then when I returned the truck I got a bill for 3 times more then what I was suppose to be charged! I called Uhaul customer service and was on hold for over an hour and still couldn't reach anyone to speak too. Terrible service and lack of care and priority for customersSalvatore C.
When i arrived well after opening, the unit was buried in show and frozen to the ground. Attendent was not interested in prepping for delivery. This was so frozen in that ut needed extrication with a scissor jack. He then told me I was required to hook it up. Rebreluctantly shoveled out the trailer Deck. The trailer was fine after that. Tried to purchase lights and there wasn't a price on the packages so the man working the office wouldn't sell it to me because he didn't know the price. He tried contacting â€œJoeâ€ to find out, to which he never got a response... which he knew before sending it he wouldn't because he made a comment that â€œJoeâ€ never responds to his messages. My friend had to show him how to actually send the picture of the item on his own phone. Then he wanted to take cash from my friend â€œto hold on toâ€ for the item because he didn't know the price... then we reminded him that he JUST told us that the office will be closed when we returned our rental. We asked what he wanted us to do because we needed the lights for the trailer and he said we didn't need them. His response to me asking why he didn't know the price for an item in their office, he stated that it was because â€œpeople have everything when they come hereâ€. He spent so much time trying to get in touch with â€œJoeâ€ that we didn't leave the lot until approx 28 mins past pickup time... and since we didn't have lights, we had to drive super slow... so driving super slow, plus leaving 28 mins past the scheduled time, and us returning the trailer at due time, equaled not getting project done because we lost so much time. Didn't even finish moving my items. I only rented from here because it's literally 3 mins from my condo... even though their reviews were terrible. Don't even get me started on the poor service it was when trying to hook up the trailer. And I don't know what was going on as soon as we got there... there was a kid screaming from somewhere in the building.Toni W.

Eliminate the horrible customer service challenge. One man working, more concerned about feeding his child than taking care of customers in a hurry. I stood there waiting for a half an hour, even though I checked in online.Colby M.
The customer service agent at the drop off location called me demanding a new card because of his negligence. His name was Dinh. He proceeded to charge me for the gas being below 1/4 tank when he didn't check to make sure before. The tank was at full so he was trying to apologize after embarrassing me. â€œIs there money in the bankâ€ â€œ your card is declined â€œ â€"- these are some of the things he was saying on top of his voice. Never again and I will not recommend, matter of fact I will discourage people from using them. Very rude!!!!!Rajanal B.

I brought the truck back a day early and I did not get a rebate for one day of rental. I always get a rebate from Ryder. I also was charged for $120.00 for all three days. with an estimated mileage . this office is very shady. I use the Salem office mostly I won't use Middleton again. I had a 9 AM pick up at the Middleton mass location. When I showed up the doors were locked and nobody there working. I tried calling the number listed but it seemed as though that number was a young woman's personal number. No answer. Being on a tight time schedule I decided to wait and see if someone showed up. Finally someone showed up at 9:20 AM. He appeared extremely disheveled and confused as to how to do his job. He kept telling me that I was not in the system and the trailer that I wanted to rent it is already spoken for. After several phone calls to another office who insisted he give us the trailer that was in Middlletin, he reluctantly continued with the paperwork however asked that we bring the trailer all the way back to his location as opposed to where we wanted to drop it off in Exeter New Hampshire. We agreed to do so to move things along. By the time we left there it was 10:20 AM. Hey still haven't figured out how to complete the transaction but I was so frustrated and upset at this point I just had to go. We did however bring the trailer all the way back to his location per his request and I will say it was so out of the way for us to do so. I truly, unsatisfying experience to say the least.Julie F.

We've had bad experiences with U-Haul when we rented in CT and were hesitant to try them again. Joe at Middleton Storage could not have been more accommodating and professional ! He provided outstanding customer service and made our rental process a smooth and stress free transaction. The location wasn't manned when I arrived at 9:10AM; it should have been open by 9AM. The truck I reserved had mistakenly been rented to someone else the night before. I had to rent a more expensive truck which hadn't been cleared of snow and ice - which I had to take care of. I got on the road after 10AM.John F.

Truck was dirty inside and out. Despite blustery weather, the cab window and the truck door was open when I rented the truck. In addition, there were 2 significant chips in the windshield, there were used and unused blankets in the truck and the former user's contract was in the cab. The truck was supposed to be dropped off in Danvers. When I arrived followed by my ride, I was told that Danvers could not take the truck. I rented both a truck in September and a van in October and this has always been my preferred destination. I was re-routed to Middleton to drop off the truck. Returned rental with fuel just under 7/8 per the rental agreement. Manager marked fuel as at 1/2 and charged for 7 gallons. I've rented Uhauls in many locations around the country and this is literally the only one scummy enough to pull this. Just stay away and use another location.Matthew M.

This was the worst experience of customer service in my life. I had to wait an hour while the rep couldn't figure out to help this nice lady who was just dropping off a truck. Then it took about 45 minutes and lots of complaining about how he didn't really know how to rent me a truck. I basically agreed to whatever he said to get out of there. I brought the truck back and was charged more than the quoted amount because we were a few miles over. The amount of loss time I spent there was more than my whole cost of the rental. I will never recommend this place to anyone and I will make sure I tell people about this experience.Shawn C.

I reserved a 20-foot truck because I was moving a 2-bedroom apartment. When I went to pick up the truck, they had rented it to someone else even though I had reserved it! It meant that I had to take a 15-foot truck which wasn't nearly big enough so I had to take 2 trips to move which made the day hell. Horrible experience.Paul A.
