Attempted to pick up my truck using the U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 with self pick-up with my mobile device. That experience was terrible. The view that explains how to do it runs right around 2 minutes. It took me over 45 minutes to pick up my truck today. After being unsuccessful with that pick-up method, the employees at Metro Towing were able to help me complete the pick-up in the more traditional way. So I would rate the experience with the self pick-up with the app 1 star, but I will not hold that experience against the location itself.

Location was a junkyard. Did not help to connect or unhook trailer. Charged for 2 days when I returned the trailer a day early after having it for 25 hours. Would have been returned earlier but they were not open. Employees were very rude and not helpful at all. Will never go back to this location. Cannot understand how they are a uhaul dealer!

Tell people that there will be a $20 charge if they drop off the keys after hours.

The facility is a little awkward to access being an impound lot. The trucks were parked along the outside of the impound fence and we had to walk in the rain trying the key till we found the right truck. That wouldn't stop us from renting there again, however, if a different location could meet our needs we would go there first.

Inside of truck cab had not been cleaned, was cleaner when I gave it back; Dude who processed me to pick truck up, did not inspect truck prior to leaving, lady who checked me in, found yellow paint rub on box (which was there when I got it) but said was okay since it rubbed off- could have been an issue.

Needed a 17 foot truck for a local move. Booked as a 24/7 TruckShare rental. Upon pickup, the "TruckShare" system wasn't working properly - fortunately the location was still open and able to override it. Truck was old and poorly maintained - even by U-Haul standards - but it got the job done. Staff was friendly enough and no surprises on the bill. Average experience, but nothing that would make me choose U-Haul over Budget or Penske.

The person who checked us in didn't know what they were doing. I had to insist they call to add the additional driver since they did not do it ok online. I changed the # of pads we took from 24 to 12 and on final checkout the rental still showed us as receiving 24. The checkout person in Miamisburg was very efficient and considerate.

I asked to rent a utility dolly and it was never lended to me, and then I was charged $7.00 for it anyway. That is unacceptable. The experience was otherwise pleasant and the truck was clean and easy to navigate in.

This location did not allow me to do self check in. I arrived to pick up my truck at 8 like my scheduled time was and I could not leave until 9. There was no truck assigned to me so I had to wait for someone to get there to discuss my pick up with them in person. Drop off was very confusing as it wasn’t a self drop off either and they handled everything themselves.

I was not given my appliance dolly or moving blankets but I was still charged for them. The App froze out on me and stopped the process of picking up the truck. Had to wait the first hour and 20 min of my reservation on hold with Uhaul to reset the app before I could get the keys.

Shannon was awesome. The folks on the general national phone number we’re mixed. Let me explain and please review the recording of my call to ensure I’m not overplaying this. My original reservation/confirmation was 25038800 and I called at approximately 11:15am on Sat 7/20. I was running late and called the local site to let them know. I talked to Shannon and she changed my pickup time in my reservation (I cannot confirm this, but she told me she was doing so). I arrived about 10 minutes later than the time I had given her. When I arrived, she said she could no longer see my reservation. She asked for my phone number to look up my reservation and saw that it had been canceled and the truck that had been reserved for me had already been given to someone else (who happened to be at the site when I arrived. I called the toll free number as the local site had no other trucks. The woman I spoke with was pleasant and transferred me to a router (? - I forget the term she used). This woman didn’t seem to understand or want to understand and was downright rude. In fact, she stated she was through with the conversation, we could do whatever we wanted, and the local site would have to deal with the $50 reservation fee because multiple (2) other reservations would need to be changed and those people would not get their rentals. I did get agitated and stated so, but she simply hung up on me so the first person with whom I spoke got the brunt of my agitation. She was able to find me a truck toward the end of the day. Shannon, meanwhile had someone get a truck at 9am who had the vehicle reserved through the end of the day although they had said they likely would return it earlier. Shannon said she would assign that truck to me and call me if that did indeed happen. It did and I got the call from Shannon sometime after 1pm, pocked uo the truck, and was able to execute the move today. Thank you, Shannon! I also want to thank the person with whom I spoke most on the toll free line (after being on hold for ~30 minutes. The other woman, although perhaps having a bad day, was NOT customer friendly and could have handled the situation differently such that, while I didn’t get the result I wanted, I’d appreciate the predicament she was in. The whole situation started with me being late, so I get that. Maybe Shannon didn’t update my arrival time correctly. I called her at about 9:40am (original pick-up time was 9am). I had called around 9:15, but no one answered and there was no voice mail.

When I arrived to pick up my van, the mileage was all off and I have now been charged almost $500 dollars for what was a 21 mile trip (estimated cost was around $50 for a few hours of use). Very disappointed.

Very disappointed with the UHaul app. Was told this would be done through my phone and that I could show up as much as an hour before my pickup time. I get there and then the app tells me it's been converted to a manual pickup and I had to wait an hour for them to open. So annoying.

Not only was the truck cab dirty and smelled very bad I was quoted $808 but I was charged over $1600. Please make sure you triple check with them on pricing because they will way over charge when you return the truck.

The problems I had with this truck rental (Contract 87016088) were probably not the fault of the rental location, but with U-Haul. The only problem related to the location was the truck had almost zero fuel in it when picked up. The major problems came later in the day when the truck would not start. I called Roadside Assistance and they sent a mechanic to check it out. He said he could not fix it and it would have to be towed. U-Haul sent a rollback truck and they hauled it away. I had the truck maybe 8 hours. No replacement truck was provided, which was promised by U-Haul Roadside Assistance. Fortunately, we were able to make do with the other trucks we had rented. But I kept noticing for days afterward the truck was still on my online account Dashboard, indicating the rental was still active. I called the U-Haul 800 number and they said the location hadn't gotten the truck back from the towing company, so they couldn't close it out. I also called the location and they were never even notified that the truck broke down and was towed! A week or so later I was left a phone message by a Regional Manager who wanted to know where their truck was and would I please return it, or he would have to report it as stolen! I called him and explained that U-Haul had towed the truck. He said he would update the file. I also called U-Haul 800 number and after 30 minutes on hold, supposedly investigating my problem, they hung up on me. A couple more weeks passed and I got my credit card bill. I had been charged $521.09 for the truck. The charge was dated the day I rented the truck? On my Dashboard, it now showed the truck contract still active, but as being with a DIFFERENT location. I called U-Haul 800# again and got the first person there that actually seemed like she wanted to help me (Lorraine). She referred me to a lady at the new location, who she said would close out the contract. I called them and talked to Anne, and she said the truck had been at their lot for some time, but the towing company hadn’t told them and they didn’t realize it was in the corner of their lot! She recognized my problem and is processing a credit back to my credit card for the $521.09. I hope this is the end of it. In summary, U-Haul is an extremely “screwed up” company when it comes to keeping track of its trucks that have a problem. Our club rented 10 trucks from U-Haul in order to put on a national event involving thousands of participants. We had no problem with the other nine trucks, just this one that broke down. The people at the three rental locations we used were fine to deal with. It’s just U-Haul’s own tracking system that failed miserably in this particular case and caused an extraordinary amount of inconvenience for their customer.

Staff made us maneuver trailer and park it in a lot of their choosing, remove it from the truck and also go park the truck in another lot and then walk back and drop off the keys. Pretty much worked for them.

I received excellent service on both pick up and drop off. At the end of a long day of moving, Bobby was very courteous, friendly, and attentive. He came out to meet us as soon as we got there, and got the utility dolly that was in the back of the truck.

I was disappointed I had to go to Lexington to rent the pick up truck. We have two U-Haul locations in Versailles, KY, but neither had a pickup truck. This immediately added about $16 in mileage charges, just to get and return the truck. Other than that, and the mandatory insurance, the people at this location were great, and very pleasant and helpful to deal with.

Overcharged on rental. Returned at 1PM and was charged an extra day because location didn't check in vehicle until 3.43 PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was charged 29 cents a mile x 124 because we went 26 less than the 1000 mile discount!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vehicle was dirtywith dried mud!
