WHEN I ordered the trailer you wanted ot dropped off 2 hours out of my way, charged me additional 45 dollars to travel 2 hours out of my way. Then you changed my pick up location making me travel 90 minutes out of my way to pick it up. I am upset you charged me 45 dollars for drop off area, this place I dropped it off is 6 miles from my house. Making me go 42 miles one way out of my way to save 45 bucks is ridiculous I will use budget next time unless someone reimburses my card 45 bucks.

The gentleman that assisted me with the testing of my trailer plug and when I turned the trailer in was super. The morning I picked up my trailer, the young lady assisting me was very helpful and friendly. One of my best rental experiences!!

This was not the location I made my original reservation at. Here’s the story... I called your 800 number several days in advance an a reservations person booked a truck for me at the Laburnum Ave location. It was for a 8:00 am pickup though the store opened at 10:00am. I was assured it was no problem, there was a system in place to pick up the truck early. I called the night before and confirm that everything was ready to go. I was assured it was, they were aware it was an early pickup and there would be no problem. I showed up at 8 AM the next morning, parked in front if the truck I reserved, went to the website to pick up my truck, saw my 8 AM reservation but when I tried to pick the truck up the website said the truck Is not available for early pick up and I had to wait till the store opens at 10:00am. I called the 800 number, was put on hold for 10 minutes before I was finally told the truck wasn’t set up for 24/7 pickup and I would have to wait till the store opened or go to a different location. It was over an hour later that I finally drove off in a truck from the Mechanicsville location. The people there were great. I am not at all pleased with the service I received from the U-Haul corporate office. I found them disorganized and unreliable.

Dishonest Staff - Vehicle was returned late and I was charged for three days instead of two. U haul rectified the problem by returning a day over charged.

Owner billed me for after hours return, even though I returned car hauler a day early while he was there. He did not log in the return until two days later. I called on the overcharge and he refunded it. The location is convenient for me and usually has the equipment when I need it.

I made a reservation online and requested 12 blankets. When I got there, there were only 6 blankets but I was still charged for 12 and the record was never changed. So when I dropped off the truck at a different location, they thought 6 blankets were missing. Took multiple calls to clear that up, but never received a refund of the $5 overcharge.

No issues with pick-up facility, however, the U-Haul dispatcher that finalized my online reservation could have been more informative and website shouldn't allow you to res items at a location that doesn't carry it. I made online res for a pick-up location for a trailer close to home, and chose a time after work. Rep phoned me changing the location, which she told me about, but also changed my time to mid day and didn't tell me. Explantion of the site change was that the original selection did not carry the trailer. Shouldn't the website be able to track inventory?

I contracted to rent a trailer from Columbia area, SC to Central Garage, VA. Went I was ready to return the trailer I was told I could not return it in Central Garage, even though that was the agreed on location on the contract. Instead I had to drive 30 miles out of my way, and spend over an hour on the road, driving past other U-Haul facilities. At present, no one has offered to reimburse me for for the gas or time it took because U-Haul refused to keep their agreement with me. Obviously I am not at all pleased, and will be sure to warn others of these inconvenient and unfair policies. Tell customers up front if their selected return site is unavailable, and give us a chance to make other choices. Or, just keep your word.

I did a truckshare 24/7 option.. No issues getting in vehicle, getting key from the dropbox and the staff that was present was friendly. Store didn't have locks, so ended up having to make a second stop elsewhere to get a lock. but the actual rental process was fine.

Avoid this location! I had no choice since the truck I originally reserved (8.6 miles away) was not available, even though the reservation confirmed it was. I was charged for a dolly I did not use. I have my own. That’s a $7 loss and their word against mine. I did not agree to this on my reservation or my contract. I also reviewed with the lady at pickup what exactly to avoid so I would not be charged extra. I still got charged. No one was there at drop off either. Luckily, I documented the drop-off at the correct time with photos. I should have photographed the dolly inside the truck, although I’m certain they would say I still used it - regardless of a photo. Be prepared to pay extra at the Sunoco U-Haul in Mechanicsville. I called customer service. U-haul customer service sides with their retailer in these situations - not the customer. So beware and be cautious when using U-haul. I experienced a lot of resistance. She said a complaint would just be sent to the location and they’d dispute it. I still filed a complaint while on the phone, and I’m hoping to hear from a manager. I know it’s $7, but it’s the principle at this point. Perhaps I can update this review if I hear back.
