I called 800 number in the morning and reserved the truck at this place for 10:30 am, came around 10:25 am and office was closed, looked around and waited around 10 mins under rain and nobody showed up, so I called customer service, they said somebody has to be there and they supposed to be open at 10 am!! The she said let me call the manager, then she gets back to me and said manager is saying somebody has to be there and asked me to check the area (under the rain!!!), then I said can not find anybody there then she (customer service) said will call manager again then she gets back to me and said somebody will be there at 11 am!!! And she asked me to download the app to get the code (it was 10:45 by that time) so I downloaded the app and created the account and it was not showing any reservations in the app !!! I was wet under the rain by 11 am that a lady came and opened the office and she answered me by a very very bad attitude that we open at 11 am so I tried to keep my self calm cause it is my moving day and I am already 30 mins late ( imagine hiring somebody to help and reserve the elevator just for two hours and .... ) just told her to give me the truck then she said you have to use your app now and she can not do anything and told her if she knows how to use the app and she said NO !!!! Finally at 11:15 am she decided to do the contract. Terrible experience and will never go back to this location and most likely my last time using UHAUL.

At drop off the parking is very crowded and the truck stuck out into the lane. When I dropped it off there wasn’t anyone to come out to check the truck, gas and mileage. I was told that they would send me a receipt when someone was free. I would have expected someone to do it while I was there to avoid any issues.

This place is insane. There is no room to maneuver in the parking lot. Trying to drive in and out of there in a truck is insane. They do nothing to assist. Our driver has driven 10+ uhaul trucks before, and it was still a stressful situation trying to get in & out of there.

The customer service person was very rude during check-in and was not present during the return and never called me back to confirm they received the vehicle, but received a confirmation email today. Taking a break from 3pm-4pm when you know people have 4 hr rentals is not ideal.

Frankley I did not know mobile process then I asked them after knocking door but she was very angry and shout to me why do you enter there... I am so not good feel. I am happy to work with Uhaul but my experience of Yesterday was so bad..

No one was available on Veterans Day to make a reservation two days later. I had a special request and knew the admin based on a recent rental. She lives on premise. The next day I stopped by and the system was down. The following day we arrived after 12, because of another office closure, and she was irritated that we had not been there right at 12 even tho she did not mention she had to leave again at 12:30. The office smells like smoke. A lot of smoke. She is a nice person, but it is easier to go elsewhere. I still have to buy materials several miles away.

The manager is a very angry lady who yelled at me repeatedly, changed the hours of the location on the fly to suit herself, and threatened me multiple times. Also the office reeked of smoke to the point that I thought I was going to throw up. Finally, my dad (whoo was helping me move) dropped his phone in the van and didn’t realize it until midnight that night. The next morning the manager made him wait an extra hour past opening time because she didn’t feel like opening even though he was waiting. Awful!!! I will never come here again and if my back wasn’t up against a wall and I had to get that van to move my office furniture, I wouldn’t have rented. I will never go back and I highly recommend that whoever needs a can go somewhere else too.

This is not the fault of this location. The U-Haul scheduling was screwed up. They changed my pick up and drop off location several times. This added mileage and I went over but they charged me anyway even though it was their fault for changing the locations. They also did not set up the contract correctly so the phone app would not recognize the contract and I still had to wait in line on both ends.

Worst customer service in a loooooong time at the McLean Self storage renting a Uhaul. After reprimanding me for showing up at 11:15 as opposed to my 10:30 pickup time (“you’re late, next time should call if you are going to be late”), the counter assistant was generally unpleasant but I chalked that up to the 10 packs of cigarettes she must smoke because the office reeked of smoke so much so that I stepped outside to get fresh air. I arrived to return the truck at 1:40 pm. I was greeted with a sign “be back at 2 pm.” Annoyed but whatever, I ran an errand and returned at 2:30 pm. Now the sign says, “be back at 3.” I call the location number and get no answer, so I call the 800 number. I spoke with a helpful representative (maybe Michael) who gets thru to the location and tells me I can leave for my appointment and return the keys later. The person he spoke with tells him that they were on property helping someone with storage and just away for the office. This is fishy because her car was not there either time and the property is very small. You could walk the whole thing in 3 minutes. Not 15-30 minutes. When I return at 5:30 pm to give her the keys, her car is back and the office is open. Hmmm. No apology and no recognition that she has wasted a lot of my time. Nope. She then accuses me of not refilling the tank. “You didn’t fill the tank.” I show her my receipt from the station right up the street and time-stamped 5 minutes before my first of three visits to return the truck. I tell her that maybe because the truck is on an incline, the tank is not reading the right amount. Instead of asking the woman who was there with her to move the truck (she asked her to move it when I arrived and she said there was too much traffic to move the truck) she hands me the keys and says “you can move the truck or I’ll send you a receipt later when I get the truck moved, I have a broken foot.” I move the truck, the tank shows I filled it. Still no apology for her behavior. To sum up, rude and unprofessional. To think I rented the truck so I could donate items to Habitat for Humanity, and I get treated to a frustrating and rude experience.

On the day (a Saturday) of the rental pickup, the small site parking area was crowded. Several customers, including myself, had difficulty backing the trucks out of their very tightly allocated space, with no effective assistance rendered by the agent to move a vacant truck which was blocking egress. The rental office, somewhat absurdly decorated with certificates of "achievement" and "customer satisfaction" was otherwise drab and reeked of cigarette smoke. The agent was polite to a minimum standard, but slow in performing her tasks. When I came to return the truck at ca 2:00 pm, the agent had closed the office for lunch, necessitating a wait of ca 20 minutes. There was no general sign posted about points of non-availability and the agent gave no prior indication that the office would be closed for lunch at any point during the span of the normal business hours advertised. When the agent did return, she declined to walk the short distance to the truck to perform the return inspection of mileage and gas consumption, stating that she had to wait for her associate to return, even though there were no other customers waiting. While the truck was fine and the transaction correct, overall this office conveys a rather dim impression of your brand. I would certainly try my luck at another location next time based on this experience.

The location is convenient for me but it is in a tight space with storage units all around. They do not have the larger trucks but I can count on them for smaller trucks. I get friendly service and is close to home.

Train personnel on customer service. The woman at counter was extremely rude. I was 20 min late. She called me and told me i would have to wait because she needed to go to the bank. Was not very nice. Office reeked of cigarette smell.

The facility was very run down, it felt unsafe and shady with rotting storage doors and destroyed asphalt pathways. As we walked into the office it smelled as if someone had just snubbed out a cigarette. The two desk clerks managing the operation were impolite and very rude asking border line invasive questions like the telephone number for a local friend, and if I was moving my residence.. I would not recommend this location to anyone and may possibly go as far as to not even recommend u-haul if this is the standard of service the company allows it's patrons to endure. The whole experience had us on edge and nervous for the turn out of this contract.

1. I filled out all the "paper work" online expecting to go to the truck at the appointed time, login and get some code to enter the vehicle with the key. I did NOT know I needed to download the APP (thought I could use the web), I did NOT know I needed to fill out more info and send pictures and wait for confirmations. I did NOT know I needed to wait for the location office to open - was just lucky I picked 10am for pickup. So all this not knowing was VERY STRESSFUL. So you get a D- grade for setting expectations. 2. The office opened a few minutes late, and the lady seemed very put-off by my not knowing what was supposed to happen. 3. Otherwise, the truck was in good shape, and the process was OK. But that expectation thing.... really annoying.

When I got there to pick up my truck, they had it pinned in between a truck parked behind with only 2 inches of space and a building in front that was 3 feet space. It took me 20 min to try and get the truck out. There was no one around to help. In addition, I requested moving pad and dollies, but they were not in the truck. When I returned the truck I spoke to the person on-site and they said they would refund the amount if I was charged for them. That did not happen. I got charged and when I called the location, they said because I did mobile check-in and out, it was not their problem and told me to call the main 800 number. I had to call the main number to get a refund. I did get a refund processed started but that never should have happened.

The lady who was there when I dropped the vehicle off could not be bothered to help me. She had an attitude that was nasty and down right disrespectful to anyone especially a customer. The gentleman who called me today to check on my drop off was a gem and helpful.

This location was a disaster. I’ve never experienced such bad customer service in my life. I arrived at the pickup and found the truck double parked and took me 20 minutes to try to back out. The pads and dolly I requested were not in the van. When I waited for the place to open, I was confronted by a dark/short haired clerk, who scolded me when i asked for the dolly. She said just because I requested it, doesn’t mean I’ll get it. She said I probably didn’t pay for it, which i did. Then she said if I don’t fold the pads perfectly I’d be charged more. Finally, on return, I brought the van back earlier and she said I shouldn’t be here yet, and she wanted me to park it in the same spot that was so small (I literally had to climb through the passenger door to squeeze into the van). I refused and said she could park it, which she said wasn’t her job. Next, she again threatened to charge me if the pads weren’t folded perfectly. I told her that I’d be calling uhaul to file a complaint and she shoed me away and cursed at me. Among other things, the vehicle was reported in good shape but had a cracked bumper and smashed fender. I expect way more from uhaul, these places are the face of your company and they’re wrecking your reputation. I hope to hear from the regional manager to voice this to them. This mclean storage place shouldn’t be able to rent your equipment. If you look on google or yelp, everyone has the same story as me. Please do something!!!

The lady at the desk had no idea what she was doing when I picked up the truck that I had to talk to someone on the phone to get the truck dispatched. The person on the phone wanted to make sure I was returning the truck by 9:30 am the next day. He assured me the location would be open. When I returned the truck at 9:15 am the office was not open and would not be until 10:00 am. I put the keys in the drop box but checked back later and a different lady than Saturday said when she got help she would check the truck in. On Wednesday we still did not get a receipt. I had to call and it still took over 24 hours to get a receipt.

One of the rudest customer service I have ever had. She complained about me being an international citizen and told us to get the dolly and furniture pads on our own instead of getting it for us. Complained about us not getting insurance. Overall just horrible. Will never use the location again.

At every opportunity during my recent move, U-Haul let me down. I arrived to pick up my equipment and the location was closed, even thought they were supposed to have opened 15 minutes earlier. I had specifically booked the 24/7 service so I didn’t have to go inside but it wasn’t set up correctly, meaning I did not have access to the keys or the van. I spent 36 minutes on the phone with U-Haul, speaking to three different people and having to explain the issue repeatedly. I was finally told that I could either get a different rental vehicle that was set up for the 24/7 service or I could wait another hour until someone would be there to open the location. Meanwhile I am paying a mover by the hour and have nothing for him to move with. I agreed to take the truck, which should have been the end of the troubles. I didn’t consider the fact that I had also rented a moving dolly to make the process faster and that wasn’t ready with the truck I had rented. So the moving part ended up grueling, it would have been more advantageous to wait for the equipment but hindsight is 20/20 I suppose. Anyway, I was also promised a $50 credit during this phone call, which I never received despite a discrepancy request on the bill I was sent. When I went to return the equipment, the employee at the location came out screaming at my husband about where he had parked the vehicle. (He was listed as a second driver). I couldn’t believe that after waiting for close to an hour at the location that morning with no employees present, this was how we were treated when we returned the vehicle we hadn’t even wanted when we made the reservation. End to end a wholly unpleasant experience. I did request someone contact me about the $50 credit discrepancy and never heard from anyone, I felt like they had a chance to try to make it right and they didn’t even bother. So frustrating, will be looking into other rental companies for future moves.

The representative behind the counter was rude and highly unprofessional. Upon check in, she was rude to the customer in front of me and once he left, made some disparaging remarks about him. My experience wasn’t any better. I spoke with the area field manager about her behavior. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone if they have deal with this representative.

The service was fine. The woman at the desk was ok. The truck itself was dirty and lacked any of the supplies I reserved. The woman at the front ensured I was refunded. Although this place is fine in an emergency, I would hurry there if that’s how trucks are maintained.

The facility is extremely challenging to maneuver in terms of getting the vehicle on an doff the lot. Took 20 minutes trying to maneuver getting out of the parking lot and about 10 to get the vehicle parked upon return. No staff offered any assistance. Large trucks parked too close behind the uhaul parking spaces. It was a nightmare. On-property person was pretty rude. Location was supposed to be open until 630pm. We returned just be 600pm and the office was closed with no indication of where to leave the key. Wandered around for close to 10 minutes before we found the key drop.

I have used uhaul multiple times in the past, I like the concept, I like the convenience, but I will not rent from this location ever again. The lady who works there is horrible. The customer service is one of the worst I have ever experienced in my life. And if you actually read this comment, I highly suggest you check out the other 30 1 star reviews that's there on Google for this location.

Rude customer service. Room was full of smoke and a cat was on the desk in my face. She denied me service once I said I don’t want insurance, and proceeded to ask me for my insurance card. And over charged me saying I didn’t bring back the right gas.

I arranged a 24/7 truck share pick up. I received a call from the location earlier in the week confirming my reservation. I received a text an hour before pick up about my reservation. I arrived 5 minutes before my pickup time to begin the check in process at 7PM. I did not get a truck until 8:30 PM after being on the phone with 4 different people and live chatting with someone. At first, the problem with check in said there was no truck reserved for me. Then all the website and app tried to tell me that the location wasnt open yet and I needed to wait until 9am when they opened. Like I had a hand delivery reservation. Again, I fully expected to pick my truck up at 7 and load it within an hour and drive to Richmond, VA. Instead, I sat outside in a sketchy location by myself for an hour and a half completely missing my apartment elevator reservation and delaying my trip.

The lady in this location was extremely rude. She was not helpful during the pick up process I couldn’t find a drop box during the drop off so I left the key under a mat. I saw someone in the office even though the lights were off so I tried to signal to them where I left the key It turned out to be the same old lady from my pick up She started hurling insults and swear words at me abd chased me off the property WHY is U-Haul doing business wig such a place and with such a person????????????????????????????????????

The location where the vehicles were parked was extremely tight, impossible to get the vehicle out without asking the staff to move another vehicle. Not enough room to turn the vehicle around to go out of the lot front first. I had to back onto the main road. I had reserved the vehicle from 10am to 2pm. I was finished early and came to return the vehicle at 1:35pm and the office was closed with a sign on the door that it would reopen at 2:05pm. I had to waste my time waiting until they reopened.

The personnel at the drop off location had attitude, wasn't professional, wanted me to maneuver truck through narrow alley and park for her twice (it wasn't marked anywhere on the location where the drop off parking was) and made us pull the truck to the front off her office in order for her to check the gas tank and miles to which she argued as well. Also, got multiple calls from U-haul with conflicting messages for the change of drop off location with a potential scam call probably offering $50 off for a different drop off location.

The rental office opened one hour later than the posted office hours. The lady in the office made no apologies for delaying my rental pick up time. I had to pay my movers for an extra hour of wait time. The entire office smelled of cigarette smoke. I had to ask my uncle to keep the door open in order to avoid second hand inhalation exposure. The parking space is limited and inconvenient.

I was planning to pick up the truck on Sunday at 6 PM and return it on Tuesday by 6 PM The manager called me twice and said she is going to close office at 4 pm on Sunday and we had no other choice to pick up the truck at 4.15 PM and returned it on Tuesday before 6 pm but today I see she has charged me for three days instead of 2 days???????? Thank you
